Hussong's Cantina & Taqueria opened in 1892 in Ensenada Mexico. Hussong's invented the Margarita in 1941 by bartender Don Carlos Orozco. The name Hussong's has attached itself to chili cook-offs, tee-shirts, bumper stickers, beer, wine and tequila. Laugh and sing along with the rock 'n' roll mariachi bands or enjoy an Original Margarita. Whenever you visit Hussong's you perpetuate the legend.

We were hoping for more consistency on the main course. The taco shells were definitely soggy and somewhat oily / greasy. The margaritas were really good, the guacamole was good and Mexican street corn was amazing. All that said the entrees/tacos were disappointing. The customer service is good, we probably should have spoken to the restaurant regarding our entrees but we did not. To be fair we did not allow for the restaurant to make it right, so that's somewhat on us.

Fun ambiance (make sure to catch the mariachi band), fantastic drinks (mojito is one of the best ever) and the food is addictive. If you’re looking for a fun casual time with great food, this is the place.

Hussongs - 'home of the original margarita' - so of course one must try what they are famous for. I like the frozen version but the on the rocks version is just a good and tasty! As other reviews have mentioned two things in particular - Happy Hour and also vegan items. Casual fun atmosphere and conveniently located at the Mandalay Place Shoppes - between Luxor and Mandalay Bay Resorts (really convenient if you're going to see the MJ One show at MB). Lots of great and traditional Mexican cuisine - don't get too filled up on the complimentary chips and salsa - the chips are light and crisp and the salsas feature a more traditional pico de gallo and the other one is a little more on the spicy side. While they do not have 'table side' guacamole service the Hussong's Classic is very good and comes with some flavorful pork rinds. Fajitas, burritos, and tacos are some of the favorite dishes on the menu as well as Chile Rellenos and enchiladas - something for everyone. Don't miss out on this gem next time you're in the area - you'll leave very full and happy! Shout out to Chad the GM and Sarah our server for a great experience as well as the rest of the team. It was a bad place for a business dinner. It was super noisy and our table was not ready when we arrived. I had made the reservation approx a month in advance and it was for 12 clients. When we arrived it was only set for 10 people.
Our server was really bad. She never came back to check on us. We had to constantly flag someone down. When the wait staff was coming to clear dishes from our table, we had to ask them for drinks and soda refills.
She was all over the place and we felt really embarrassed, since we were hosting the business dinner with our newest outside reps from all over the country.
I apologized many times for the bad service. They were however, very happy with the food.
Even though it was pretty loud in there, we had a successful meeting.
The drinks were wonderful and the pricing was great for the meal and all the drinks, that we
did pay for, for all of our reps.

Best menu item is the guacamole and the drinks are good. Did not care for the carnitas at all—too sweet, and the chimichangas were marginal as well. Service and the guacamole is what would bring me back.

I was there for a business luncheon that I was hosting. The restaurant ran out of gas to cook with so the waitress was very apologetic but the manager was nowhere to be seen, to help with the messaging. We waited 90 minutes for our food to arrive and would have left if we could have gotten in to another restaurant - the conference was busy as were all of the dining establishments. One of our diners arrived 20 minutes later but they did not pull her order to match with ours despite the gap in time waiting for them to have gas restored to the restaurant kitchen. We waited an additional 30 minutes for her food and it wasn’t until we called the manager over that the issue was resolved - the waitress advised that the cooks would not pull that late order up to the front of the queue even though she was with us.
The tostada salad was delicious but the kale salad was disappointing - so were the tacos.
