We live in Manhattan and came to Charleston for a long weekend. Husk was a perfect start all of the courses were farm to table/sea to table fresh. We dine at all three Michelin star levels regularly in Manhattan and around the world - Husk’s execution of the catfish and pork dishes were an amazing blend of flavor, texture, and temperature. The desserts were colorful and addicting. Our server embodied just a great soul, so jubilant and friendly her personality was true happiness. What an infectiously charming woman. The cocktails were five star as well. We loved loved loved Husk wow I would come here every week if we lived in Charleston. We plan to return again this year just to have dinner here again! Thank you to the entire team for a memorable evening.
As Paul Prudhomme said...”If I pay $100 for a plate of food, I don’t want to see a lot of plate.” Husk food is not remarkable and cost is excessive for common fare.
The service was not very good. The server didn’t offer coffee or check in on us much, and it took a long time for first drinks to come out. In addition, we did not get fried chicken as it was not on the menu, but then we saw a neighboring table get it!
Food was good, service was okay, ambiance was very good. My daughters Duck was better than my steak. I need to try again. We are foodies and we just moved here so our expectations may be too high.
Every time I visit Charleston I make sure to eat at Husk. I love everything about this restaurant. The food is innovative and upscale with homestyle southern flavors. Every dish I’ve had on the menu is delicious but the one thing you must try is the Heritage Pork Lettuce Wraps. I promise you have never had a more succulent and tender pork anywhere ... and that Kentuckyaki glaze is to die for! The service is always OUTSTANDING!
We truly enjoyed dinner. Will go back!
Our favorite restaurant we went to during our trip!! Amazing food, personable & fun service, and a perfect southern ambiance! We were lucky and got to sit outside on the porch-- just the perfect date-night while there :)
Is was disappointed as we had a 7:45 reservation outside and got there at 730 to check in. They told us our outdoor table would not be ready until 8:45 - clearly they just gave our reservation to someone else even though we checked in ahead of time.
This felt very inconsiderate especially during covid
I think that the build up we had to dine at the husk gave us higher expectations. I understand that you have a limited menu and that you change it occasionally. Personally I would have preferred a more extensive menu with greater choices. The waiter was OK and professional but I would not have described him as overly friendly. Don’t mean to be insulting but we’ve had our dinner at Costco and will not have a need to return. It’s always possible that I simply do not appreciate fine dining.
Apparently, there are things that they serve, but are not on their menu, like fried chicken and a burger. These are on their “bar menu”. Would have been nice if we had been made aware of these choices.
Service was beyond excellent, cocktails were delicious and the food was very good. Get the cornbread and the chicken!!
The food here was outstanding, the mixture a flavors and ingredients were wonderful
much better service than last visit in March. Good food.
Went for Sunday brunch & had the best butter bean salad, a to-die-for simple (but perfect) cheeseburger & bloody. Great service, too! Just don't forget to make a reservation!
This was a really great restaurant. It's nice and the price reflects that, but the atmosphere is still laid back and welcoming. Classy with a bit of that Southern hospitality. The dinner was delicious. I would absolutely recommend anyone visiting the area to stop by for a nice night out.
Heavenly Husk! Definitely lived up to the hype. Best meal I’ve had from appetizer of pork and lettuce wrap to the grouper and cornbread. Crispy, savory cornbread was out of this world and the grouper was cooked in a medley of spices. The dill was particularly aromatic. The ambience was lovely and the waitstaff were superb. What more can I say? We made the reservation 6 weeks out and so worth it.
My wife and I celebrated our 22 wedding anniversary at Husk. Exactly what I expected. Exceptional service, top notch food in an elegant atmosphere.
The food was great, their menu changes daily. There was 6 of six and we all tried different items and EVERYTHING was wonderful. Don't miss out on Peanut Butter Pie and Cheesecake desert. If you're in the area make a reservation, don't wait until last minute.
We enjoyed our dinner at Husk. Server was nice and accommodating.
The striploin was delicious. It was cook perfectly to my liking and was the perfect portion. I ordered a refreshing beverage called Left on Red and finished off dinner with the dark chocolate peanut butter pie, which was to die for. Service was top notch- our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel tended to without being overbearing.
The food, ambiance and service was exceptional. Our server, Caleb, was the best!
Great service and the food was outstanding.
My wife and I found Husk to be every bit as advertised. The restaurant is very charming, the food was excellent and the service was top notch. Would definitely eat there again.
Amazing food and wonderful wait staff. Enjoyed our evening!
We met out of state friends for a special dinner. The salad with fried oysters was nice. Three of us ordered the Atlantic grouper. It was wonderful! Our other fried had catfish and found it delicious. Dessert was cheesecake with blueberries. Light and delicious. Our wait person was pleasant and attentive.
We make HUSK a stop every time we visit Charleston.
Just average experience. The food was good, but underwhelming. Did not live up to the reputation and hype. The decor inside felt disconnected from the menu and a little cheesy. Would not recommend to someone to go, there are plenty of other delicious restaurants in town.
We were on vacation. Sat out in lovely garden ans meal was fabulous
I feel that we ordered a lot of food but stayed hungry. Portions are small but taste is absolutely wonderful!
Waitress was very sweet and nice, just took her awhile to great us and we felt a little forgotten.
I would do this again but approach it a little differently.
Great food service and ambience
Overpriced small proportions of mediocre food served by an non-attentive waiter in a noisy dining room.
Absolutely amazing food and service!
Pork lettuce wraps light and flavorful. Duck confit cooked perfectly - tender and moist. My favorite dish in Charleston. Grouper also fantastic. Split lemon poppyseed cake. Good, but tasted like it may not have been cooked that day. Server was so pleasant.
WONDERFUL service! The “strip loin” was amazing.
Not only was it absolutely incredible- but we were dealing with various serious allergies that tend to complicate our dinning experience, they were helpful, knowledgeable, and the food was wonderful and full of flavor despite having to overcome some obstacles.
We are vacationing in Isle ofPalm again and couldn’t wait to get back to Husk dinner. Husk is one of our favorite resturant as. They never disappoint
The service was excellent but the food and choices were not up to standard for Charleston.
They have continued to maintain the quality and uniqueness of their food.
Highly recommend Husk to anyone traveling to Charleston or Savannah! We were lucky enough to try both locations. Interesting menu.. lots of classics (excellent shrimp & grits + phenomenal burger) and more unique dishes too. Book in advance, this place books up fast - rightfully so!
The food was not bad but it was extremely mediocre for how much we paid. The waiter was great but the hostess was rude.
