Disappointed in the catfish entree, maybe 3 oz of catfish in dish although it was very tasty.
There was a screaming child in restaurant so it was difficult to enjoy the evening.
As always when we are in town we try to come here. Food is always excellent and the service was the best ever. If your in Charleston you should put this on your list.
Service was terrible. Food was just average.
We were SO excited for this dinner! The house and ambiance are amazing! Drink menu is wonderful, service was pretty good, but food was just missing the mark from what we expected. We tried a wide variety of what they offered, and honestly, nothing stuck out as something we’d go back for. Would go back to sit at the bar and have an app, but will schedule our nice dinner somewhere else next time.
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. Amazing food and service. Best meal of out trip to Charleston.
Thank you for the anniversary note ❣️
The food and service was great. We went at Brunch at 1:30 and they were out of 2 entrees. So I would make reservations earlier because brunch ends at 2:00. Would definitely go again!
They ran out of two of the three items we wanted. Which really is unacceptable for a place of this caliber, but the steak and shrimp were of the charts outstanding which made up for it
We celebrated Fathers Day with brunch at Husk this weekend. The food was delicious and presentation beautiful. The servers and staff were gracious and attentive. We were very pleased with our experience.
Absolute lights out dinner!! Visited Charleston on our honeymoon. An awesome way to celebrate. Our server was top notch. Very well versed on the menu and selections. Great drinks. The best duck and chicken I have ever tasted. 10/10 highly recommend.
One of the best meals we’ve had! Perfect place to celebrate milestone birthdays.
Was excited to try husk after snagging a last minute reservation. It was underwhelming. Food came out very fast and it now makes the restaurant seem like a tourist trap rather than a respected institution. Dining room needs a face lift. Staring at rip chairs wasn’t appetizing. Drink menu could also use some work. Restaurant has lost its charm and has become a turn and burn machine
Really a fun experience. Locally sourced food and very yummy. Lovely restaurant. Great waitstaff.
Perfection! Loved every single bite from skillet cornbread and heirloom tomatoes to best grouper ever to the amazing peach pecan cheesecake. Chris was an awesome server, too.
If you go to Husk, start with cocktails in the bar before you get seated at your table for dinner. Going to Husk feels like an event, not just dinner.
Food was delicious and our server Jeremy was outstanding. Would be an easy five stars if portions were a bit bigger. Also, the host/hostess are super weird about not letting you get a drink from the bar while you wait. We arrived early but was told that the bar was at capacity for the night and could not get a drink while we sat out front. We then watched multiple people get chased down as they tried to walk to the outside bar. Very entertaining but weird nonetheless.
Went here for my girlfriends birthday, by far one of our favorite places to eat all time. Thanks to our server Randy for being so great. Highly recommend if you’re visiting.
The food was delicious, the service left a lot to be desired. The server acted like we were more of a bother than paying customers. I would have expected better service from Husk. Our food was delicious and everyone loved what they ordered (portions are very small so order a starter or to share plate as well as an entree).
Everything was delicious! The cornbread is a must. And we loved the fried chicken, confit duck and catfish
Husk lived up to every expectation and then some. We will be back very soon!
Husk is almost a taxidermied version of its former self. A theme park of dining — very high guest volume and turnover. Kids running around, several guests making no effort to celebrate the occasion or dress up in the slightest. Flip flops and t-shirts. Tourist hats. Cameras.
Husk’s cooking continues to be excellent and indicative of innovative southern cuisine. The service is, for the most part, warm, friendly and welcoming (except I overheard the staff criticizing our blue collar beverage order compared to how nicely we dressed). It’s both polished and worn in. Southern charm at its finest.
But there’s not a lot of depth here, except for the love coming out of the kitchen, which continues to serve as the heart and soul of the restaurant. Husk almost feels at odds with itself: creative soulful food competing with its own investors’ growth ambitions. I am sure the latter contributed to the original chef’s departure.
My advise to Husk: scale down and stop trying to please the world. My advise to diners: there are better restaurants in Charleston.
We loved the atmosphere and the food was phenomenal.
Made reservations a month in advance and the anticipation was completely worth it! Amazing dining experience with some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. True southern fresh AF plates. Can’t wait to go back.
Final meal during our trip to Charleston food was very good ambiance and noise level a bit high. Didn’t see our server much. Experience not as special as we had hoped for.
Husk never disappoints. This was our first time here for dinner (other times have been lunch) & it was so, so delicious. Service was the best we’ve had in Charleston & our dinner was unreal.
This was our first visit and this restaurant was just outstanding. The front of the house greeted us warmly while confirming our reservations and seated us on the porch to wait. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old home. We would love to know the history of this house.
The food was amazing. We ordered the pimento cheese and oyster appetizers which were perfectly prepared and presented. For dinner, we had the NC catfish and the Heritage Pork. The catfish was light, flavorful and perfectly coated. The Heritage Pork was juicy, moist and delicious. We had the Husk Old Fashioned and wine throughout our meal and both were excellent. Our desert was a dark chocolate tort with peanut butter and stracciatella sour cream ice cream which was phenomenal.
A special shout out is in order for our server who was articulate, patient and very helpful. It's surprising to us that this restaurant does not have a Michelin star.
My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our Anniversary dinner! The food was excellent & the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic evening. Personally, the Husk was my favorite meal of our trip!
Made reservations months ahead for outside table. Came for our anniversary. Atmosphere was perfect, food was so delicious- everything we ordered was very good. The dessert- peach cheesecake and sorbet was so very good and great way to end our special meal! Our server was very professional and a pleasure to have. Would definitely come again.
Plate lickin' good food! Excellent service. Peaceful southern charm ambiance. Love every visit here!
Me and my boyfriend came to Charleston for our anniversary this week and we decided to try and get into husk because I saw such good reviews! They were booked for weeks but there was a cancellation last minute and we got alerted of it, so we were so excited! Our waiter was very personable, had amazing service during our visit. The restaurant is also beautiful inside and out, such great details to the scenery. They change the menu every day so it will be rare that you get the same thing twice. Tried two appetizers, our entrees which were catfish and chicken, and blueberry tart for desert and it was all superb. Honestly it was the best restaurant I have ever been to. If your making a trip to Charleston, make sure you make husk a priority visit!
Loved the food and ambiance! Wonderful evening out.
Interesting that this was THE restaurant. The table service was very good, but the girl at the front was at best lacking in pleasantries which did not start things off great. You must wait standing outside until they call your name, which was not made clear. The food was good, but again, seemed to be just good, not the best or even close to we have ever had. The furniture was in very bad shape--seats were ripped and "leather" was torn. Guess we just didn't see what all of the hype was for.
This restaurant is obviously used to being full from open to close and the staff handled our 945pm reservation with ease and professionalism. Felt completely welcomed and never rushed even though it was at the end of the night. The dining room and its appointments was comfortable.
Menu did not seem as creative as it was when Chef Sean Brock was running the kitchen, but the preparation of each dish we had was on point and delicious. We had two apps, two entrees and a desert. To be really picky the confit duck could have used a starch on the plate to soak up that sauce and fill out the dish. Peach cheesecake with sorbet was a highlight.
We will definitely return to Husk on future trips to Charleston as long as it maintains the high quality of food and service it is known for.
Service and ambience were wonderful. We were not impressed with the food. Don't understand the hype.
We received superb personal service and wonderful food.
We have been to Husk several times and it never disappoints! From the hand crafted drinks to the appetizers and entrees, you can’t go wrong! The wait staff always has honest and great recommendations on both the food and wine to pair! We will continue to return as we have a stellar experience each time.
Great place! Food was delicious and service was incredible. We go to Husk every year on our anniversary and are never disappointed!
Amazing experience. The service was warm and friendly and the food was outstanding.
Food was great, the setting is beautiful, but the decor lacked the same charm. Chairs and curtains would benefit from a refresh.
The staff were friendly and accommodating and our food was delicious.
Husk was great! The staff was amazing at accomodating the people in our party trickling in and still somehow managed to have everyone eating at the same time. Everyone loved their food and drinks! Everything felt fresh and the menu felt more imaginative than a normal brunch!
Can’t say enough good things. Was excited to try this place since we missed it in Savannah. We secured a Sunday brunch reservation and it was outstanding. We had the deviled eggs, the smoked trout bagel, the fried chicken and the coffee cake. They were all wonderful especially the smoked trout bagel and the deviled eggs. So fresh and artfully plated. Would love to go back again next time we visit Charleston or Savannah for dinner. I also recommend the rum tea punch. Tasted like peach iced tea and not too strong tasting. Service and ambiance also amazing.
