Best meal we had on the Big Island. The food and service was terrific. I had the 7 oz filet mignon with the half lobster tail. The steak was cooked to medium rare as I had ordered it. It's pricey but worth it.
Great location, filet was perfectly cooked as was the chop. The fried rice was way too salty and poor white wine selection by the glass. We had to flag down one of the people clearing tables to get our check ring through after waiting 30 minutes for our waiter.
We understand things are a little stacked up with Covid effecting the workforce but 30 min. Was too long to wait.
Food was delicious. They got a little busy towards the end.

Saved this for our last night on the Big Island. It did not disappoint. Jason was an amazing host and pointed us in the right direction every time. The Wagyu steak and filet were amazing, as was their toffee ice cream pie. It’s pricey, but worth this special experience.

No doubt, this is a Four Season's experience. From the moment we gave our car to the valet until the moment he returned it, everything was "over the top". The hostess greeted us and seated us immediately, our server, Jason, was back with our cocktails quickly. We enjoyed both the Wedge Salad and the Tomato Salad. After enjoying all the fresh fish on the Island, we both had filet's that were prepared exactly as ordered. The Brussel Sprouts were prepared with a bit of Sriracha, giving them a nice spicy flavor. To help us celebrate my birthday, they brought a German Chocolate Macadamia Cake which was delicious. Can't say enough good things about our experience.
A good island steakhouse experience.
It was a very good, very expensive dinner out. The food was expertly prepared and service was good. But honestly not the most gourmet meal or best service I have had, even in the last month, but by far the most expensive. Some of the pricing was pretty ridiculous as well. Everything was ala carte, so for example a baked potato (maybe $2 in the grocery store) was $13, a drink $30, small looking steak $75 etc. The staff knew we were there for a 75th birthday. But in the end, did nothing for the person celebrating the birthday. Seems like after spending $645.00 on dinner for four, they could have brought him a scoop of ice cream at the end. Felt like we paid for the best but did not get it.
It was a perfect location for an anniversary dinner. Service was outstanding, beautiful sunset view across the golf course, dinner was delicious and the Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. We will be back again to try some of the other dishes, can't wait!
With the closure of Ruth Chris, the Hualalai Grille is now without doubt the best steak house and also one of the very best restaurants on the island. The food, beverages, service and ambiance are all outstanding. The prices are expensive but appropriate for the fine dining experience delivered.

Food incredible. Service fantastic. Our server Tonya, was super helpful throughout. Even helped me in proposing to my (then) girlfriend after our meal. Could not have been a better night.
For a $400 50th birthday for two, Our experience for my wife I, we expected more. Though the hostess was nice in wishing her a happy birthday the food for the price was very sub par. $85-95 steaks should be mind blowing at best. Sadly small and not juicy, little flavor, it seems as if the kitchen gave up on quality at end of service. Crab Stack tasted like tuna fish with heavy miracle whip infused. Beet salad was ok but not for $20. We have had much more amazing food experiences elsewhere and do not plan on returning. Spicy fried rice was greasy and meat in oysters were small. Why 5 oysters and 5 shrimp for two people? Why not 6? From a couple that loves spectacular food we expected to be blown away in a good way not the way we were blown away. Oh well I made my wife a meal the next day that easily surpassed our experience for $400 plus tip. BTW when dessert is offered and we decline its not polite to say it was going to be for free after the fact. Its in bad taste not to offer before we decline. Tacky.

The filet was the best we have ever had! The smashed potatoes and mushrooms were fantastic sides. Our drinks were perfectly made and the ice cream was out or this world.

We loved our dinner at Hualalai! My husband left saying the filet mignon was one of the best steaks he’d ever had even compared to most steak restaurants. The brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese are amazing too! What a wonderful night on our vacation. We can’t wait to go back one day 😋

The amount of time it took to get served after we sat down was to long. My son ordered off the kids meal, no appetizer that came with his meal ever came which is just carrots and celery I think, and they never asked him if he wanted the desert that came with his meal. It’s expensive there, I remember when Alan Wong’s was there a long time ago and it’s just never has been as good since it changed.

Since the restaurant is at a resort, there may be families with children (we sat next to some not very well behaved ones last night). That can detract from a date experience but the food and the service more than makes up for it
