Key Lime Pie
Fish & Chips
Beer batter, French fries, house-made tartar, lemon
Grilled salmon, Dungeness crab, poached prawns, asparagus, cucumber, hard-cooked egg, house-made 1000 Island dressing
They changed the chicken entree salad. Not as good. Waitress was great
overall nice place to go
good idea to make rsvp on weekend
We had a gorgeous view and the service was excellent. The food was just as wonderful as I remembered.
It was cousins’ night. My 1st cousins and I came out to celebrate our love for each other. Living our life like it’s golden!
As always the food was delicious. Our appetizer was clearly forgotten until we mentioned it but that was taken care of. One of the orders had to be corrected and that was handled quickly and sufficiently.
Fortunately for me, all of my food was fixed to perfection. Horatio’s is my fave which is why it was my suggestion! They NEVER disappoint me!
Doesn’t feel like a chain. The bread is amazing. And love their steak and pasta options. Salads are also great. GF options are good. A good spot for a business lunch or dinner. Always busy though and if it’s packed, you might be delayed in being seated. Always worth the wait though!
The food was great and the staff very attentive to our needs. It was an awesome dining experience!
Service was good. Food was consistent with past visits. Not happy at all about the "living wage tax" that was on my bill. Won't recommend or return because of it.
Group meeting. Service was friendly and timely
Since COVID shutdown, hostesses were tripping over each other - had to wait for our table (only to learn 5 minutes later that 2 of our 9 members were already seated at our table); prices were outrageous for portion size; portion size for fresh fish entrees was embarrassing - don't put it on the menu if you're going to be that skimpy; service was awful - we had to ask for water refills and waited more than 10 minutes for that; waited almost 30 minutes before server even took our entree orders; and we hadn't received our beverages yet (placed shortly after we were seated). The server didn't return to check on us (9 people) until we were almost done with our meal.
Very slow bar (for 5 beers and 2 virgin pina coladas), even slower kitchen (over 45 minutes after placing orders) ... no explanation - the restaurant was barely half-full; we had 5 pm reservation and didn't get out until almost 7:30. Coffee arrived cold and if you don't like asparagus as your veggie, tough luck!
Server did not charge for coffee - but not because we complained - she handed us our tab and that was our first chance to let her know about the coffee (more than 15 minutes after it was served).
3% living wage surcharge is tacked on to your tab; sales tax went up (not their fault, but 10.75% tax);
Did not put their best foot forward - very disappointed - paid the $400+ tab, but couldn't bring myself to leave a rewarding tip.
We hadn’t been there in a while but it was nice. The food was good. Drinks were outstanding! Our waitress was very good.
We have not been to Horatio’s in nearly 30 years and were pleasantly surprised to see that it has been maintained well with the same fun decor. We enjoyed our crab sandwiches for lunch and salad and were able to get a window seat.
Our sever Alex was very friendly and outgoing. She had good recommendations for food and wine. At the very end she surprised my husband with dessert to celebrate his birthday! We will definitely be back again and would request to sit in Alex’s section!
My girlfriend and I go here time to time for us to get out and catch up with each other. This visit the food wasn’t as good to me for some reason. The crab artichoke dip had way too much artichoke and not enough crab. Our drinks were good as usual and service was great! The ambiance was nice too. But we’ll be back.
Great food and amazing service!
Excellent dinner for our anniversary. Service was exceptional
It was my first visit to Horatio’s. I loved the old-school ambience and decor. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely visit again.
Made reservation on line with a request for a special booth to accommodate my 93 year old mother...We were given a perfect booth..with nice view ..intimate for conversation that was necessary due to hearing problems with my mother...Staff was friendly and immediately tended to our table...Food was delicious...Staff came by routinely to ask if we needed or wanted anything...We visited for quite awhile with no pressure from staff to leave...Overall experience was excellent..Cant wait to go back and enjoy again!!! Thank You Horatios !!!
Near OAK airport. Dinner before picking up daughter at OAK.
Everything took too long including water refills, food and bill. One of the dishes came out cold.
Maybe not a good idea to have gone on 4th of July weekend after many COVID restrictions were lifted. Service was slow. We made reservations and were seated 15” later. The wait to get all the food from time of order was almost 1 hr. The appetizers and main course came at the same time. For the inconvenience, we were given 2 complimentary lobster bisque soups.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding on a Friday afternoon. Thought to myself, “I need to come here more often!” Highly recommended the Asiago crusted sole, crab appetizer and point Reyes blue cheese salad. Don’t forget about the key lime pie!
I had a reservation and the people who didn’t have a reservation was greeted and was asked to take their order first. There was a waitress/bartender who knew the people next to our table and was conversing with them and they were all talking so loudly. I ordered the French dip sandwich and it didn’t come with the aujus.
The Lobster Bisque and Pear Salad were good, but the kitchen overcooked the salmon I ordered to compliment my salad. I sent it back and didn't ask them to recook it. The GM David came to my table and apologized for my salmon being overcooked and sent me home with a Cesar Salad, salmon, and cheesecake to take home. I appreciated him apologizing and offering to send me home with a replacement meal because my salmon was overcooked.
The restaurant is located on the San Leandro Marina, and is easily accessible from highway 880. It has a pleasant atmosphere, and many tables with nice views. The staff were friendly and attentive. We arrived for lunch at opening, and the noise level was quite low, although it picked up a bit as the crowd increased. The menu had options for most tastes, and the food quality was very good. We lingered over cappuccino, and for quite some time beyond that. No one ever encouraged us to free up the table.
All in all a very nice dining experience, and one that I would recommend.
Our waitress was very attentive. The food was hot and delicious. Horatio’s is our favorite for seafood. The garlic bread brought to the table was unbelievably fresh, one of our favorites. We can’t wait to go back soon.
The best server we had in awhile. We had eaten at Scotts, Yoshis and Eureka all during the last 3 weeks and she was super.
Eddie was wonderful, made us feel taken care of. He was attentive but gave us space, gave great recommendations, checked on us often enough and is just a nice guy. Food was delicious. Thank you!
Very good happy with the service and the food was delicious
Server took a while to bring water/wine. Didn’t check back with us timely. She was very upbeat and energetic, knowledgeable. Value for the seafood salad wasn’t appropriate But was decent.
We enjoyed the Father's Day prix fixe selections. My husband found both his lobster tail and prawns only moderately warm. My filet and prawns were good, temperature-wise. We waited an inordinate amount of time for our food. Each course came slowly. After the soup, I was sure the brie appetizer was forgotten, but it did arrive and was excellent as always. We then waited nearly an hour more for our entrees. The restaurant seemed inundated with to-go orders, and the in-person guests suffered for it. We enjoyed our meal, but were irritated by how long each course took to arrive, particularly the entrees. Finally, the "molten lava cake" was more of a mousse cake, with no molten center, but it was tasty. Hopefully, dinner service will improve as the restaurant recovers from its post-pandemic readjustments.
Food was excellent. Service was slow. This was surprising as it wasn't that crowded for a Father's Day.
Amazing restaurant, always been our go to for special events or brunch.
Sadly yesterday food was wrong, burned, and my daughters meal arrived late so has to take it to go
I find it ridiculous that post Covid restrictions they are still at 50% max occupancy.
Great food and great service! Social distance friendly. I good definitely go back.
We love Katie! She’s the best!
Met with a friend to celebrate her birthday after not seeing each other since the lockdown.
We had the best service, food and time!
Our waitress never made us feel rushed. We were there over 4 hours having a wonderful afternoon.
I highly recommend Horatios for lunch or dinner!
The scallop and prawn fettuccine was fabulous! Kristen is a great server! Definitely want to get back here soon!
Online I requested outdoor seating and the reservation returned saying outdoor seating granted, however, upon arrival, we were told that outdoor seating was unavailable as the outdoor space was being renovated.
Since we continue to be in a pandemic, outdoor seating was important to us. The manager should pay careful attention to these details in the future.
