It was a very disappointing evening. We expected it was going to be very busy given it was Mother’s Day but there is no excuse for the poor food quality. The calamari appetizer was very greasy, the mashed potatoes on the 3 dinner entrees was very, very salty, the green beans didn’t taste fresh it was old and wilted, the scalloped on the seafood trio tasted like it was poached instead of grilled, the prime rib was mostly fat. It took forever for the food to come out in between each course. The only reason I still gave it a 3 out of 5 for overall experience or good overall is because of our server . Our server was very pleasant which made up for the poor food quality. We don’t mind paying for an expensive dinner so for a restaurant like Horatio’s we expected very good food quality, good food presentation and the food should not take forever to come out. Bill was $245 before gratuity for 3 people but the food quality was not even worth near that amount not even close. We also had a reservation but still had to wait 30 plus minutes before we were seated and we were seated in a very awkward location. In my humble opinion, the management team should not accept anymore reservations if they know they cannot handle the volume. Very disappointing!

Reserved for a party of 6 for Mother’s Day, hostess seated us in a 1-4-1 seating using two tables pushed up against a wall, and we essentially ate dinner facing the wall. I asked the waiter if a normal table would be available and they said no. Having no other choice for Mother’s Day, we had to stay as it was already 7:30pm. The entire time, a larger table in the regular dining room was left open and available the whole night. We only received water refills once at the end of the meal despite asking two or three times throughout, and the waiter also assumed we were taking dessert of takeout (pushing us to leave) even though this was a prix fixe 3-course meal. Waiter also told us they were out of crème brûlée for the night, so we ordered other dessert. As we were leaving, we watched them serve crème brûlées to other tables.

Was there for Mothers Day. Expected some glitch but from the minute we sat down it was one thing after another. 1. Entree arrived before salad 2. Puller didn’t seem to care. 3. Server finally noticed and we asked him to please bring the salads. 4. The food was ok. 5. Dessert took forever to arrive, when it did I was served WARM Key Lime Pie. 🙄 The floor manager was only there to turn tables, it was obvious the kitchen couldn’t keep up with orders and any “Captain” in the kitchen was unskilled. I don’t blame our server, he did his best to keep us happy. It wasn’t just our 2 Top table that had issues. I won’t go there for another special occasion.

Beautiful place and great food but maybe Mother's Day is not ideal as we waited very long to receive our food and when we got our food it was out of the order it should've been. We waited a half hour beyond our 5:30 reservation to be seated and it wasn't with the view of the marina I requested. It was 30 minutes after before getting our drinks and another 30 minutes, now 7:00pm, before receiving our main course. We ate but still waited for the appetizer while doing so. After speaking with the waiter a couple of times we received our dessert at 7:40 but no appetizer. I finally cancelled the appetizer, didn't make sense at this point, and requested the bill. It was 8pm at this point. Not good when your dates are your mother (83 years old) and fiance.

It was a holiday, so the dining room was full and very noisy. The food was very good and the service was good considering the load on the wait staff.

The last time we were at Horatio’s our experience was so negative we wrote to the manager. We decided to give it another try. This time (Mother’s Day) it was overpacked with people. The waitress told us the kitchen was an hour behind. We went ahead and ordered anyway. Our food came out in good time and was well-prepared. We had requested a table by the window, but hosts were too overwhelmed to seat us as we requested in Open Table. Mother’s Day should be in the same category as Valentine’s Day; if you expect to dine out, the experience won’t be the same as a normal day at that restaurant.

We understand that it was mother's day and it would be busy, but the service was delayed quite a bit. Our combination of servers were great and did all they could with what was going on. The prime rib was mostly fat, the mashed potatoes were a bit on the salty side. Normally the place has a moderate noise level but today was mother's day and it was loud but fun with the Mom's getting their shine.

We have been going to Horatio's for years. The food has always been excellent and this time was no exception. It was however Mothers Day and seems management way over booked or didn't staff for the crowd they had. Several tables of guests left after 1:30 hours wait to get their meals. We go there for a great meal with the crab and artichoke dip to begin our meal and Key lime pie to end it. The key lime pie lacked it's normal punch of lime flavor.
