We had a great time and a great meal at Horatio’s. My filet was perfectly cooked and the potato cakes and seasonal veggies that came with it were delicious. It was a bit pricey but worth it. We will be back!
The best prime rib anywhere. Great atmosphere. Excellent t service
We wish we get a actual dinner room for two since we booked in a month early, but instead we seat at bars area.
Best friend birthday
Our waitress was very attentive. We enjoyed our meals. Always have a great experience.
Unfortunately this is not a restaurant I would frequent. Location is excellent but the restaurant needs a major remodel. It smells like an old shipyard with old sticky wooden tables. The food is like diner food with heavy layered food that looks and tastes as if it’s been there for long time. The waitress was sweet but once again gave the vibe of an old dinner. It is not a place i would recommend. I’m not from the area and it seems like it’s hard to find good places to eat. Options are scarce as we realized in last few days!! Unlike San Francisco area, where there is more options. This restaurant needs to come get out of the 70’s and shake things up. At least, take away the old shipyard smell with nauseating odor as you walk into the restaurant. They even made the worse cup of coffee. The water smelled and the coffee tasted like it was made with old water. We didn’t complain, smiled and thank them and left. But to be honest, a 3 Star is too much. Had I known, I would not have driven 15 mins to get to this restaurant.
You will be disappointed.
Had a great 92nd birthday lunch with my mom. The food was good, the view almost made us fell like we were on a mini vacation and the service was great
We went to Horatio’s for lunch to celebrate a birthday. All five of us ordered the open faced sandwich combo. Two ordered the whole sandwich and other three the half sandwich lunch combo.
The sides that came with the combo lunch was very good however the entree or sandwich was disappointing as it was room temperature. This made the sandwich hard to cut. Very disappointing.
I’ve had the open faced crab sandwich in the past and when it came to the table the sandwich was still warm. Now I wonder if because five of us ordered the same sandwich sat on the plate too long?
Service was slow and food was just ok. The decor is very old. The couple sitting next to us got up and left before they even ordered. My husbands entree was more like an appetizer. I had the prime rib and it was just ok. It came with mashed potatoes and vegetables but I couldn’t tell what the vegetables were so I was afraid to eat them.
Horacio’s always meets and exceeds expectations
I really enjoy the restaurant
Took the family on Fri 10/5 for my son's 25th birthday (his request). We arrived as the sun was setting which made for a wonderful bay view. He thoroughly enjoyed his 16 oz. Prime Rib, my wife had the salmon w/ gnocchi, my daughter the Mushroom w/ Short Rib and I had the Pork Chop. All were delicious and served promptly by our friendly server, Victor, who periodically stopped by to check in on us. He also brought a complimentary Burnt Crème dessert for my son's birthday, that we all shared. Took home a lot of leftovers which we enjoyed last night. Horatio's always seems to be out go-to place for special occasions!
I had the Wagyu filet and it wasn't as good as the first time I had it at Horatio's a few weeks ago. The taste of the meat was very different and the onion cakes were mushy versus crispy. Shame the food wasn't more consistent.
The service was top notch. The server we had was very attentive and made it very special.
Met a good, long-time friend for lunch. Always a great experience at Horatio's! Waitress was always nearby but left us alone, uninterrupted, to visit! Thank you!
What a wonderful way to celebrate our 21st anniversary!! Delicious food, outstanding service and a beautiful view. You MUST try the clam chowder....it's better than any we have had anywhere in the Bay Area. Add the warm buttery bread and a delicious cocktail to start! I had the filet and my hubby had the lobster tails...both were perfect! The roasted vegetables are SO good.....and our server Gio was awesome. He answered all our questions and anticipated any refills, etc that we needed. Will make sure to ask for him next time we visit. We also were treated to a delicious peach cobbler for dessert....we were so full, but found a way to make it disappear! Thank you Horatio's for a memorable anniversary!
Good. Salmon and lobster bisque soup were tasty.
Nice lunch, floors needed sweeping and the wood needs refinishing but nice server...
Our server Courtney was great. Attentive and helpful.
Also, great view of the marina.
Service was great! I really liked the crab and artichoke dip and the bread as well. Although my entree had a strand of hair in it. The chef made a new and delivered it himself and apologized, which I appreciated. Otherwise food was good.
Went for our anniversary. They gave us a table away from the families in a quiet corner. The food was delicious and the service was great.
NOISE WAS INCREDIBLE AND MADE THE EXPERIENCE SOMETHING TO BE REMEMBERED - NOT FONDLY!
I hadn't been there in about a year. Very satisfied with the dinner. I had the prime rib and my guest had the Louis Salad. Both were very tasty and are recommended. Service was OK. I booked ahead and requested window seating but did not get it. Ended up in the back area. Our server was adequate. We were not offered water after we were seated and there weren't timely visits to check on our satisfaction. The redemption here was that it was a birthday celebration and we received a complimentary dessert. Overall , the meal was very good and I will return, just not with high expectations on the service side. Cheers!
We have gone to Horatio's for special occasions several times and have always had a lovely and delicious meal, served by attentive, sensitive waitstaff. I love that it is on the water.
The food was overall good. The early service meal was a good value for the price. Thought the restaurant decor was a bit dated and felt the restaurant could use a good cleaning. There were stains on the carpets and some of the menus and tables were sticky.
Great food and great atmosphere. And Miguel provided excellent and attentive service.
Had a small party for a birthday dinner. Great service, as always and food was amazing. I love this place and visit whenever I am in the area. I will definitely be back!
Horatio's is a great spot to grab lunch or have dinner. I love the Farmstead Blue Cheese Salad, it's my favorite!
The last we were here was
More than a decade ago! Still good food, excellent service and friendly staff!!! I had the rack of lamb this time, and oh boy! It came out exactly the way I ordered it!!! Awesome!!!
Wife and I had impromptu dinner there for my Birthday, following an Oakland A’s game we attended. Excellent staff! Great food
Overall a good dining experience but we did notice the carpet entering the seating area is filthy. Not a good thing around food. Also, makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like?
We also enjoy going to Horatios. The food and service is top notch! Could use some updating though. Tables are sticky with build up and the carpet has seen better days.
Food is good and the service excellent. Wonderful restaurant to have a celebration.
Our waitress, Denise and the others in her team took great care of us, especially once she found out that we were celebrating my companion’s retirement. We had an awesome time.
First time I have been to Horatio's in many years and it was still great. Their appetizers are still fantastic and their fresh seafood was wonderful. Will go back on a week night.
We have patronized Horatio's many times in the past, but this was the first time with a "special needs" friend. Both the hostess and waitress were delightfully accommodating, making our visit all the more enjoyable.
I was OverCharged the $575 Bill ~6X By the Waiter!!! - plus saying my Card was Declined...: BECAUSE of the fraudulent OverCharging!!! Took Hours w/ my Bank to sort out - UnBlock my Card; Days for Credit to be reflected...
I have been here before, so know what to expect. Had a lunch combo with the crab-artichoke.. my only criticism is that the bread was pretty chewy vs. crispy or soft, so cutting it was a bit of a challenge. Great value on the food however, the combo included half the sandwich, a generous portion of Broadway pea salad, and fries (almost too much food). Service was good, not great.. one of my friends needed a refill on a Coke and it took some minor harassing of servers walking by to get it taken care of. But server was very friendly, polite, etc. But all and all, a good experience at Horatio's.
Server was great though fish was placed in a burned grill. Green beans were old.
Service was good; waitress attentive and the food was tasty and enjoyable. But, I was quite disappointed on the exterior of the building. It look quite dirty with gum marks on floor; not a good impression at all. Also had to alert one of the greeters that a water spill on floor near bar and seating needed to be taken care of in case of someone slipping on it. It has been awhile since we dined at Horatio since we just returned to CA. and am hoping there will be a facelift so it will shine brightly as we remembered it in time past.
Great menu options, really like the 1/2 combos. I've ordered the crab sandwich many times previously and it's always been good. This time there was a meniscal amount of crab a few chunks of artichoke with the tomato and cheese, very disappointing. Waitress laughed when we told her, then said she would tell the chef. Later she brought us a free dessert (without asking us if we wanted it). Just not the experience we had in the past.
