The food was amazing and service wonderful. We had a view of the water for the last night of a large family Reunion
It was recommended to us and was excellent
Honu's was very easy to locate, being at the Courtyard Marriot. No complaints on the location, ambience, views, service, and food. Would recommend.
Everything was really good. But the crab legs were a bit over cooked and had no flavor. Other than that service was awesome and nice.
Food and service was excellent but the restaurant was extremely hot. We left cause it got too uncomfortable.
We are local and go here every couple
of months. Nice, low key, dependable.
The Waiters were very attentive in filling our water glasses and clearing our plates when we were done and went up for other food items on the buffet. We had a great outdoor sitting although, the sky was voggy the view of the pier and beach front was beautiful.
Took our time enjoying the food. I loved the seafood while my husband loved the crab legs and prime rib, his favorite. AWESOME! Will definitely return again!

The Prime Rib and Seafood Buffet was fabulous! The staff at this restaurant and hotel is warm, friendly and helpful. I have not had a bad experience in the many years that I have been eaten here. I highly recommend Honu's on the Beach. Ask to sit outside to enjoy the beach.
Crab was over cooked, veggies were blan, fish was terrible.
It was my birthday so we decided to stay overnight at the Marriott and have our buffet birthday dinner of Prime Rib and Crab along with the rest of their goodies for dinner for 7 of us. It was perfect and I plan to spend next month their for my daughter's birthday.

After reviewing your menu which had some nice selections and decent prices, I was going to take my fiancé to dinner here for his birthday. I had no idea that on Saturday night you can only get the buffet. I found out after arriving that the buffet was $55 each! We have never been to one that expensive, and the offerings were not worth that much money. I had not planned on spending $110+ for dinner, plus drinks, and it was embarrassing when my fiancé offered to pay rather than go somewhere else since it was late. I took him to dinner the next night where I spent $80, including drinks and tip, on a lovely dinner at Mi’s where he got one of his favorite dishes, Cioppino for $35 and he was comped a wonderful $8 lemon crème brûlée with a candle for his birthday. I was very glad we went there and will go back if we ever get the chance.
The sushi special we had was very good how ever the tataki filet mignon was a throw off and the pairing of blue cheese spinach and mash potatoes had a weird taste, the ribeye was ok, are server lucean was awsome kept checking on us like a pro
We arrived in Kona after 12 hour flights. I was told the last seating was at 9:15 and I made a reservation for 9 pm which we just made. When we got there they indicated they were closing and couldn't be bothered with trying to feed us, directing us to the poolside bar instead which was crowded, noisy and took forever to get service. the food was distinctly mediocre.
the food and service were very good but feel the place seemed tired and and not that kept up as far as cleanliness. needs an update and better care especially the floors. bathroom seemed the same and I had to have staff open it for me as locked and not attached to the dining area.
Beautiful! My husband and I never got the chance to have our honeymoon since we’ve been married... our 8 year Anniversary together was May 4, and my mother’s day gift all in one ❤️ We finally got to have us time 😊
Being a resident of the West Side in Waikoloa, I hardly get to go to Kailua-Kona for brunch since we have all of these fabulous hotel properties down the coastline, HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised by the offerings of the Hono Beach Restaurant and cant wait to go to another Friday or Saturday Seafood and Prime Rib Buffet, it was simply delicously tasty, well designed, and very comfortable with the cool ocean breezes and fantastic customer service, highly recommend!
Great food and wine with views of the bay included. Good place for a date
Portions are modest. Recommend ordering a side salad. Sauces were excellent. Wine menu ok. Not too expensive.
After speaking to a number of friends they all raved about Honu. It was good, but not fabulous. The wait staff was professional, the food eatable. But nothing special.
Date night- got there a little early but accommodated nicely.
MUST try the pork sliders. We are in Hawaii for vacation and wanted to go to a nice restaurant in Kona. This was one of the few places we found but loved it. Would most defiantly go back and would recommend.
Delicious, fresh food. The seafood buffet on Friday night was very good, as was the dinner menu (rib-eye steak) on Monday night.
Great but we didn’t get our points.
Easter Dinner. Mistook this restaurant for one with same name in Maui which is wonderful and our expectations were high. Food was fine, nothing exceptional.
Bedienung war relativ langsam und Fleisch schmeckte nicht so gut.?preise sind aber ok
It was great!
Food was average and not as nearly as good as our past visits. We have had the weekend brunches over a dozen times during our vacations in Kona.
You could have mentioned that this was a hotel restaurant. It was passable, but there must be better ambience/value nearby.
Always a good place to bring a date or the family. Service was exellent too.
We always enjoy the food && service every single time we are there they make us feel right at home.its a must go
Overpriced for mediocre food. Not horrible, but spend your money somewhere else.
Buffet had a wide variety of foods from salads to seafood and prime rib. All was prepared to perfection. Cocktails were excellent and well made. Desserts also had a wide variety. Wait staff was attentive and very friendly. Very knowledgable about local events and places. We went early evening so staff did have some extra time to talk story which made the night perfect. I would not recommend this to anyone who has a small appetite. You won't be able to eat enough for the price. If you love to eat, this is a wonderful place to do it. Windows open to the air and right on the beach next to the pier. Loved it! Will go again I am sure.
Beautiful restaurant but unfortunately the $30 mahi mahi was raw in the middle. The waiter did not check back on the food until everyone was done, and at that point it was too late to bother to have it replaced. The waiter and manager were apologetic, but not a good dining experience.
Crème brûlée au lilikoi absolument parfaite. À tester
The ahi special had a delicate sauce. The poke and sashimi were top quality. The outside seating and the view of the bay made the evening special. Would have been triple the price further up the coast.
We had a party of 13 and they gave us a large nice table. Everything was done well. The only negative was there were very few other tables occupied so it was a bit of a downer. Maybe it’s busier on weekends.
There is not enough room here to tell our story but suffice it to say the following:
-food was excellent
- bathrooms were filthy...shockingly so
- the Restaurant was empty and yet service was horrible for the price we were paying
- got served a glass with lipstick marks on it
- waiter got the order wrong
- we had to leave our table and go to the bar to get our drinks as they just sat on the bar, already made but not delivered, for 20 minutes
- waiter told us that they were out of one of the dishes we ordered so he and the chef decided to give us something else...not like “we are out of ribeye so we substituted New York strip” but like “we were out of the pasta so we substituted the fish”. What the heck? Why would you do that?!?!
- waited for him to come by so we could ask for the check...table was cleared, drinks were empty, restaurant still rather empty, and we are just staring at each other waiting for him to reappear for around 20 min.
Such a shame...they have a great breakfast buffet at Honus but as locals we will NOT be returning there for dinner.
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner while staying in Kona for their weekend buffet. It was $50/person and they had a decent amount of options. There were 2 types of sushi, 1 chicken dish, 1 pork dish, 1 fish dish, crab legs and the beef roast. There were also 3 sides and a pasta/salad station. The servers were so nice and quick to help you, the view was also beautiful. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because it was a little pricey in my opinion for the number of options. But all delicious.
Amazing fresh fish buffet on Friday and Saturday. Beautiful ocean front outdoor seating. Romantic. Great service. Friendly staff. Best value in Kona by far.
Our family enjoyed a great buffet dinner here with a lovely view of the ocean. It seems to be a favorite place for local families as there were lots of groups of Hawaiians at the time we were there. The crab legs were delicious and so were the desserts. An excellent selection of foods overall, and a nice pasta bar too. Recommended for anyone!
I would not recommend this restaurant at all it was very disappointing there was no you could display on Ice there were flies crawling across the food the oil for the was disgusting. The pasta was tasteless there was a crowd of people way too far online in front of us and all of the food was empty in the warmers. I will never go back
