The food was just okay, really nothing special. The buffet dishes were very overcooked - you could hear the fish dish sizzling in the chafing dish. There were very few patrons but the service was so-so. We’ve been many times over the years, but won’t return for brunch here.

Excellent service but the food was not up to par, which is not our usual experience at Hondos. The filets were cooked to the right temp in their centers but overcooked on the sides. Also the steaks were pretty flavorless and dry. The Caesar dressing had a bland, watery flavor. The sauteed vegetables were plentiful however they were mandolin sliced paper thin, making for a side of mush. And the sweet potato was undercooked. Also the vintage of the Cabernet wine was represented on the menu as a 2013. When the waiter brought the wine bottle to the table, I noticed it was a 2014. He had not noticed that but went back to see what was up, and came back to the table to tell me they had run out of that and had just gotten in the 2014. The wine vintage was changed but of course the price of the bottle was not. Used to love this place. Perhaps the 'good chef' was off since it was the day after Valentines. Chances are good we won't be going back.

Our waiter offered just the right touch of polite charm without being obsequious. Our only complain was the amount of time it took to be served our lunches. We waited 45 minutes for our meals, an unusually long wait for Hondo's at lunch time and the delay was never acknowledged nor did anyone apologize. One of our party almost had to bail but lunch arrived just as she was preparing to leave. Lunch was delicious as usual.

So I think this experience at Hondos sealed the deal for us in now declaring Hondos as our favorite streak place in Richmond. Everything is top notch. Food is cooked perfectly every time. The bread is fresh (and with honey butter!!!). The staff are very attentive and kind without being over bearing. We will be back soon for sure.

Amazing food, but we were at the restaurant for over 2 hours because the service was incredibly slow. Tons of wine selection but I wish they had more options for just a glass.

Service and the atmosphere was good and I wouldn’t say that it was too expensive considering the fact that you get 2 sides along with the entree. However, the quality of the main dish, steak was substandard.

Would not consider dining again there.

Four in our party and none of us had been there before. None of us left disappointed. The atmosphere was perfect for our occasion and the food was fabulous. the service was right on point attentive but not intrusive. Like some fine restaurants they did NOT delay between courses while pushing expensive adult beverages. $300.00 tab for the four of us but was not out of line for what we enjoyed. I would return without hesitation.

We were very impressed with Hondo's for our Anniversary dinner. The atmosphere is very pleasant and subdued. Our server, Stephen, was great. The food was outstanding. I would definitely recommend Hondo's to anyone looking for a great steak and a wonderful evening.

A friend and I went for Sunday brunch and we were quite pleased. The food was fresh and plentiful, and there was a great deal of variety in the offerings on the buffet; the service was friendly and prompt. It was not crowded when we were there (right at 10, when they open) so I don't know how the service would be at busier times, but it was great at that hour. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The prices were fair. Highly recommended.
