Experience a new dawn of fresh and classic items such as Signature garlic and rosemary rubbed prime rib of beef, misoyaki butterfish, steamed Dungeness and Snow crab, chilled lobster tail, Mountain View Farm suckling pig, auction-fresh sashimi, and a divine selection of decadent desserts.     This restaurant offers a great dining experience due to its combined service, view, and excellent food. Dishes were artfully prepared and presented, with every attention to detail on presentation and clear explanations of the dishes. We appreciated the seating and quiet atmosphere, especially since this was a celebration of life.

    Although the ambiance was very nice, especially considering the Christmas decorations, the food was disappointing. Our family of 3 selected the four course fixed price meal and the total was over $500 before tip. While our servers were very courteous, the courses came out very slowly and we were there for nearly 3 hours. Two of us had the short ribs, which were very dry and the sauce was cold. I had the salmon which was much like bland cafeteria food. Overall, the food was just ok and not anywhere near worth the prices.

    First time here to Hoku’s Sunday breakfast brunch. Food was good, but for the cost I would say that it could’ve been a bit better. Service was excellent! Can’t beat the ambience and view either.

    Had the Grand Tasting, and it was excellent. Service was wonderful and the servers were knowledgeable and attentive. Absolutely delightful and highly recommended.

    Overall, wonderful assortment of selections for the Sunday Brunch! Fresh sashimi and sushi. The butterfish was exceptionally good. Some items, such as the Benedicts, were a little tired and soggy. Expensive, but overall good quality!

    My wife and I went there to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. They never asked us if we were there to celebrate any special occasion yet we saw them giving pieces of cake to people who were celebrating, birthdays and anniversaries but no mention to us. We had to ask the waitress a couple of times to bring food that we had ordered.  This is the third time we’ve eaten at this restaurant but this time it was disappointing. The price went up $35 each but the service and value went down.

    Server returned my tip since there was already a service charge. I am not surprised but expect her integrity working at the Kahala. It reminds me of the standards towards your guests.

    Outstanding views from the dining area, lovely decor. Most staff were friendly and kind. The best food item they offer is definitely the prime rib, thin cakes and lilikoi panna cotta, everything else was alright and for the cost, honestly, a little underwhelming.

    Celebrated a family member’s birthday. Great table with an impressive view. All else was minimal at best. Staff were friendly but inattentive. Plates were left on the table and cleared as we were paying our tab. Had to ask for coffee, then ask for cream and when the coffee arrived at the table it was lukewarm! Food was lackluster. Tempura was soggy, sashimi and sushi were ok (sushi rice was hard), breakfast items were standard. Best part of the buffet were the desserts. Hardly worth the $110 price. Would not recommend and will not be back.

    Reserved a table for my husband's birthday. It's an absolutely beautiful location with a great view in every direction. We ordered the 4 course tasting menu. Overall, very good quality with just a small miss or two for me; I ordered the wagyu filet for my entree (3rd course), which was an $89 upcharge on top of the $115 price for the 4 course tasting menu. It was perfection until about 70% of the way through, with the remainder being pure fatty gristle. Not a big deal overall, but relative to other recent experiences I've had elsewhere, I'd anticipate a little better quality (and quantity) for such a sizable upcharge. Tagliatelle (2nd course) was a bit watery and bland. Overall, we had a lovely evening with outstanding service, and I would still recommend (with a small caution around the cost).

    The service was excellent. They were attentive and anticipated our needs the entire time we were there. The food was more than great. It was surprisingly innovative and gave us food for thought as well as for enjoyment. Pun intended. I rarely have encountered foods prepared in a way I haven’t had before. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion.

    I was disappointed in this restaurant. It was my fault b/c I did not realize that it was a fixed tasting menu rather than a regular restaurant where you could order off a menu. I did not feel that it was worth the money.

    Fantastic spread. Our server (Kent) was spot-on; predicted everything that we needed. Very patient and attentive. Great experience. Wonderful that they offer/included the deep fried poke musubi!

    Wasn't a fan. Food quality was inconsistent, ranging from not great to extraordinary, depending on the dish. Supplement pricing is ridiculous given what you get. Service was attentive but awkward. IMO, the room is overly-illuminated. Like, operating theatre bright. Contributed to an uncomfortable ambiance.

    Chose the 4 Course Tasting menu absolutely delicious! Waiters explained each course and choices. Their recommendations were top choice. Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. Would definitely recommend!

    We had a great experience with this brunch. We were celebrating two birthdays. We were seated on time and the waitress explained the concept. The drinks were served quickly and we had a great time with the buffet. Great variety and tasty. We sat by the window so the view was amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Overall I would recommend it for any celebrity occasion. Thank you. 👍👍
