Excellent buffet. Not a super huge spread, but a lot of options the seafood and desserts were especially good. You can also order unlimited lobster tails that be served chilled or grilled. Eating in the open-air veranda was a great atmosphere with a live pianist. Great way to celebrate a birthday brunch.

I’ve patronized Hoku’s for over a decade now and have been throughly impressed with food and service in the past but as of 7-5-24, what happened? I selected Hoku’s for my wife’s birthday and was eager to try the $210 per person Grand Tasting…I’ve never been more disappointed with a fine dining experience in over 50 years. If you’d like to completely RUIN your wife’s birthday celebration, select Hoku’s, and get the Grand Tasting ripoff experience. All the food except for the desert had a very one dimensional, flat, simplistic flavor profile. The Wagu was tough and dry, the Lobster literally felt like I was chewing rubber(way way overcooked) I’ve never had the feeling before (at fine dining) that I could have done a much better job in the kitchen. I regularly dine at 53 by the Sea, Michels at the Colony Surf, La Vie at the Ritz Carlton among many others. At least the three aforementioned establishments properly train their professional servers; who gets served first, serve from the left, remove from the right, guest of honor always first then eldest lady etc. We were served haphazardly, it seemed that whatever position was easiest for the server to either serve or remove was the course of action. Not hard to train…a quick google search on etiquette. Now I realize this may seem a bit picky, and some may balk at my comments but when you pay $700 for a party of 3 for dinner, at a restaurant that touts a $1960.00 martini as their signature drink…correct service is part of the experience. The server was kind and friendly, however completely uneducated and out of her element in fine dining, I felt like we were at Zippys sit down. Last year for my wife’s birthday we went to La Vie and it was $1000 for 3 for dinner and I came away feeling like “what a bargain!” I am not a complainer… and sincerely apologize to those offended, but I just told the truth.

Such a wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious but the staff was what made the experience exceptional. From the hostess to the servers, everyone was so kind. I definitely want to come back 🌺

Overall value keep going down A LOTS:(! Not even too busy but our waiter was keep forgetting and saying “Sorry “ over and over least 4-5 times. For just Sunday buffet they even charge soft drink and coffee. I felt like some upgrade of kids birthday party with baby lobsters tail at community park with nice view. $110+$coffee and $juice , not worth it. Halekulani is better.

We had the Sunday Brunch and it was fantastic. AYCE lobster, dungeness crab, snow crab, sashimi, breakfast meats, and much more. The desserts were great as well. The service was equally fantastic. Lastly the view of the ocean we had from our window table was a pleasant surprise.

The food, ambiance and service was outstanding. Lisa and Reny our servers were beyond excellent. They defined what a 5 star dining experience should be. The 7 course tasting was immaculate in every way. Expensive but for our anniversary it was the best dining experience of our 36 year marriage.
