Four crisp and golden pancakes served with sour cream and applesauce
Six different sausages, potato salad, kraut, and two salted pretzels
I like it reminds me of Munchen
The beer and food are excellent as is the entertainment. Lots of fun! Not the place for an intimate date though. So loud that it is difficult to carry on a conversation with table mates.
Schnitzel was very dry. Sauerbraten was not the least bit sour. It’s supposed to be brined in vinegar. But the pretzels and beer cheese sauce made up for a lot. They were excellent!
If you love Herman food
The food was lukewarm - especial the special on the menu - Sauerbraten. Also the spaetzle in addition to being lukewarm tasted "warmed up". Currywurst and Wienerschnitzel were good. Apple strudel was cold and also didn't taste very fresh. Service and atmosphere was great, as usual. Advice - put a little more effort and pride in the quality of your food. It's an ethnic restaurant and many guests traveled to Germany and other places in Europe and remember having great Sauerbraten even in some mom and pop restaurants. Hofbrauhaus is an institution and bringing a friend for the first time and having meh Sauerbraten is kind of disappointing. I am a fan and will return of course, but I thought I'd give you this feedback in good faith.
While pricey, this place is great. We went for Oktoberfest, and they had a sort of special where when you buy food, you pay half for one of their steins (so instead of paying $20 per stein, we paid $10).
The live music seems rare these days, especially traditional German music. It was awesome too.
Our server seemed to have gotten lost A-LOT!
It was Sunday 9/20/20 @ 3:30PM and the venue was only about 10% occupied.
The Server, Linda was very nice and helpful, IF you were able to track her down.
We've been here before. Love the idea of a special menu other than the regular menu they have. We were there on a Sunday. Jon/Batman and the busboy are both very ecstatic and hard working.
Disappointing - partly because of Covid-19. Had sauerbraten--they made it with pork. Never saw this before. Sauerbraten is made with beef. Spaetzel was a weird color; very yellow--should be white; they are noodles.
Great Oktoberfest feel, Prost!
Fun time with friends! The live band was good and energy overall was fantastic!
Had a great time at the Hofbrauhuas. Always brings back good memories of a family trip we took to Munich.
Our waiter Jon (Batman) was very patient with us. We had quite a big group and often asked him for things but he never once rolled his eyes or got annoyed with us. Great conversations with him. He gave his input on some of the food and offered suggestions (which for us, was the best) some of the food wasn't what we expected but overall we were full and almost tipping over rolling out. Some of the food were hard to pass; potato pancakes, calamari, dry rub wings, fresh pretzels, spatzel, german potatoes, fries, steak (delicious), mahi mahi (delicious), and apple strudel w/ice cream. The schnitzel was ok; the pork was better, the chicken had a sour taste to it. We weren't a fan of the Bavarian potato salad. The sauerkraut balls and cheese curds weren't our fave. The loaded bier fries was ok because, of course, the avocado cream was a hit.
Delicious food and save open setting. Not crowded and respected social distancing protocols.
Amazing experience!! Food was excellent. Outdoor seating was available. Wonderful all around!
Always love the food there. Atmosphere is usually pretty good too. But was a little disappointed they didn’t have live music while we were there - middle of the day on a Sunday. Could’ve piped in some good old German beer drinking songs? Linda was an awesome server! Went there to celebrate a 21st birthday, and she definitely added to the enjoyment of the day!
The menu is minuted. The potato salad is very mustardy. The weinerschnitzel was flavorful but too crisp - it was difficult to cut with the knife.
Unfortunately, our experience at the Hofbräuhaus was really disappointing the food was extremely dry and tough. The beer was good, but the meal and service was really disappointing. I would not dine there again.
Some parts of the experience were nice. The ambiance and outdoor seating were lovely. The food was too quick to come out, so that made me think that it wasn’t cooked fresh to order, and it tasted like it...dry.
Disappointed in the lack of traditional options. expected Octoberfest atmosphere and it was a ghost town.
Switched servers in the middle of our dinner. Big downgrade
Over all disappointment
Great time, great food. Outside seating was perfect.
College buddies getting together to sit outside and social distance but have a fun afternoon! It worked perfect.
Plenty of tables well space. Broad selection of food. Service was great. Charming atmosphere.
Terrible service. Made the appointment and was called to say last call was at 9. So then don’t let someone book a reservation at 8:45 then. Got to the door and immediately felt like they didn’t even want us to enter. Seems like they all just wanted to go home and get rid of me and my party. Stop using COVID as an excuse for terrible service and laziness. This place has been steadily going downhill over the years. Wouldn’t be surprised if it closes for good. Expect a review on google and yelp to warn everyone else. Never going there again. This includes me and my family and friends.
We're were there to celebrate my birthday. We were the only table inside. All others seemed to prefer the patio. There was no live music that night. The restaurant has a very nice charisma. The waitress was very knowledgeable
The ambience can not be helped with the pandemic situation. My pork shank was just ok. Normally it is my go to and usually spectacular. It was just meh.
Service was not attentive. Slow to respond and did not check back with us often enough.
I had the Jager schnitzel. It was mediocre at best. The spaetzle was terrible
Good food, good music! Would go again when the pandemic ends!!!
Food was awesome!
Great food. Great atmosphere, even with COVID issues. Support these guys. They’re doing great!
Great environment and service! Disappointed there was no music, though. Food/drink is a tad bit overpriced but worth it in my opinion!
Good food. Excellent beer selection. Attentive service by Batman!
Hofbrauhaus is always a fun time. Sit outside and enjoy the biergarten and the band!
Enjoyed a great dinner and several great beers this past Friday night . The Hefeweizen beer was fantastic- as was my Jaegerschnitzel entree.
Always one of our favorites for great German food and fun!
Great restaurant. Great atmosphere. Food was very good. Service was excellent. Definitely will be going back.
Patio seating was great. The waitress we had was also an awesome one.
Everything was good but very expensive for the food we had
Great outdoor Beergarden with well spaced tables to adhere to the six feet separation and all staff wore their masks.
Great service from our waitress. We really enjoyed our evening out.
