Hiro 88 is an up-scale Pan-Asian restaurant in Omaha's Old Market. Serving some of Omaha's best sushi along with award winning Chinese food we have something for everyone's palate. We offer an extensive selection of sake, wine, beer and liquor.
We can accommodate up to 25 diners in our private room and have experience with events ranging from rehearsal dinners to pharmaceutical presentations.
In addition to our dining room and lounge we also have two large patios. Both Patios have full dinner and drink service. We also have Happy Hours Monday-Friday 3pm to 630pm, and Saturday 3pm to 6pm and Reverse Happy Hour Friday and Saturday 10pm to Close and all day Sunday!!!
For groups of 8 or more we do add 20% gratuity to the check. Please specify if you will need separate checks, have children that will require a highchair, if a high top table will be acceptable, or if any guests in your party has dietary restrictions that we need to be made aware of.

We do offer off-site catering. We need at least 24 hours notice. A delivery fee of $15.00 applies as well as a minimum of 15 entrees (for delivery). For groups of smaller size, arrangements can be made for the order to be picked up. All dishes from Chinese to Sushi platters are available for catering.
Private party facilities
Our private dining area seats up to 25 diners. We have an 80" projection screen. All other audio visual equipment must be provided by the customer. The room has separate climate, lighting, and audio controls to create the perfect ambiance for your special event.

Being slightly off of the main streets of the Old Market, parking is more accessible than in our surrounding areas. We have a good amount of metered parking in front of our building. Weekday parking isn't typically an issue. We do suggest allowing additional time during weekends to acquire parking.

First of all very good food. But. The service was just terrible. We were there 30 minutes. Had ordered cocktails, apps, and had our food for maybe 5 minutes when our waitress comes back to ask if we want a box? Confused we said no and she proceeded to tell us our total and ask if we were paying with cash or card. I guess if you want the experience of a diner with very good Japanese food…. then this is your spot.

Made reservations two weeks in advanced hoping to get a sat in the main area. Ended up getting sat in the back where it was bright lighting and kids were. We asked our waiter if we could change tables but never got a response from the hostess. I could understand the seating with a walk in but since we made reservations it was kinda a disappointment. Food and service was great as always tho. 7/10 would still recommend to a homie.

I enjoyed the service. We had a phenomenal server. However, I did not appreciate that in the middle of our meal, we were asked to move tables immediately with our food by a manger for a mistake on their part for a different reservation. We were comped a beverage only and the manger walked away and we were to move all the items from the table ourselves to a new table. We only had assistance from our server to move our food and he only moved the last few items after we had begun moving due to the fact he was not told we had to move until he saw us moving items ourselves. The meal and service was wonderful, just wished the situation was handled better.

The kitchen was backed up and the food took a long time to come out. At least 30 minutes I think it was. It wasn’t fun to inhale the food. We had to ask our server about the food a couple of times. Haven’t experience such a long wait at Hiro before

Our server was very nice but service was very slow. Took 10 mins for my drink from the bar to show up. And 30 mins for mains to come out. Food tasted good and was piping hot. Nice atmosphere. Only issue was the speed of getting things brought out.

We have dined at Hiro 88 many times. Normally service is fantastic. Ordered appetizers, only one arrived. Much later we were informed that the other appetizer was burned and would have to be remade. It was supposed to have beef/pork….it was very clearly shrimp - scary for those with allergies. We pointed this out to the waitress. We never received our soup/salad course until well after our entrees came out and only because we mentioned it. We asked for silverware and received a single fork. She stated that they had a large party thus didn’t have any more silverware. Just very challenging. Normally when we would have difficulties such as this during a service they would send the manager over. I at least expected to have them remove the appetizer that was incorrect from the check. They did not. Food that we did receive was good. Will consider other restaurants when visiting downtown.
