   We had an excellent dinner at Highway Restaurant and Bar. We started out with delicious cocktails. Then we shared the tacos appetizer For main courses we had one bouillabaisse and one fish curry. Both were delicious. We also had an order of corn with tomatoes. For dessert we shared the chocolate pie with pistachio ice cream.

   A local friend of ours in East Hampton recommended Highway to us for dinner while vacationing in the Hamptons from LA. Likely one of our best meals on the East End. Handcrafted cocktails were rightfully limited (far too many restaurants have far too many and the effect is diluted), with a special call-out for house-pickled onions in the Gibson! The dinner menu is rooted in classic menu items done well, and thus conducive to many repeat visits during and after season. Each dish we had was superb. Home-made pie for dessert, as well as biscoti, deserve special mention. Far easier to get a bad meal out here so far from NYC as we had at Nick and Toni's two nights earlier. The bloom is long gone from that long-time local favorite. Even after telling a manager at the door how bad 2 of 3 dishes were, and how un-attentive the service was, it is obvious that they have forgotten the meaning of Hospitality, whereas Highway has it down almost to a science. Suggest you make a reservation now before all the seats are taken for the rest of the summer!!

   Arrived at 5:40 for a 5:45 reservation. Three tables in the restaurant were occupied. We were asked to sit at a table in the rear. We requested to sit at a small banquet near the window. We sat and were then asked to move to a different table. We refused to move again so they accommodated us. Poor start for an average meal. The waitress was very pleasant. The food was OK

   Food large servings and delicious! Of particular note was the service... from the meeting at the door by the hostess to the friendly and attentive servers. Really good and not often found in Hamptons eateries during the busy summer months. We’ll be back!

    Different menu from last year. Food was awful. Menuntough to navigate. Untrained servers. Could not serve four dinners or even four coffees/teas at the same time.
