A Modern Approach to Southern-Inspired Cuisine

Aside from the classic cocktail, a highball is a train conductor’s signal to depart at full speed. It was how Central Florida’s abundant harvests moved from field to table, an iconic symbol of the region’s agricultural might. Highball & Harvest (H&H) pays homage to this legacy, with menus laden with ingredients from local farms, as well as our own green-growing efforts. We pluck fresh produce from our on-site 7,000- square-foot garden at Whisper Creek Farm. Handcrafted cocktails are infused with seasonal fruits and herbs, and create a culinary adventure that is as inspiring as it is memorable.

This restaurant is the main dining facility for the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The restaurant served a wonderful breakfast buffet, but it was just ok for dinner. We had a casual dinner that was very pricey and the restaurant was noisy. It does cater to families so a lot children and a bit of chaos is to be expected. We were disappointed in one of our two main courses we ordered, one of which was a Snapper that was fine but served with a dreadful accompaniment of rice, beans, corn and garlic. The server was quite solicitous but it took forever to get our cocktails at the beginning of our dinner (to the point that that waiter took the cost off our bill without our request).

The food was good, the service lacked. Everyone in my party ordered the burger. Two were ordered to be cooked medium and one medium rare. They all arrived medium well. We are an easy going group so we weren't extremely put off. However, one was ordered with a fruit bowl instead of fries and another with tomatoes. The tomatoes and fruit were asked for repeatedly. The tomatoes finally came out when I had to ask the hostess for them, after half the burger was gone, approx 15-20 min. She also brought the fruit bowl. We had all dined here before, and never experienced such poor service before.

I saw the reviews on Yelp, and I was excited to see an alternative to the typical Orlando chain restaurants. Not only is the food delicious, but the location is also beautiful. (My date and I strolled around the grounds for a little while after dinner to enjoy the beautiful landscaping.) I had the vegetarian option which featured summer vegetables. I also got a side of Brussels sprouts which were mind-blowingly good! My date had the shrimp and grits; no kidding, those were probably the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot of really good shrimp and grits on my travels). Our server recommended wines to complement the meal, and they were perfect! I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. The food is amazing, and the price is extremely reasonable for the quality and location.

Excellent Management from Mathew Cristi and Staffing Mario Escobedo along with Great Chef Scott Pizzi yields excellent customer service, quality and satisfaction. Under the word teamwork in the dictionary there should be a picture of this management, kitchen and staffing. Thank you.

Great atmosphere, but the food was mediocre at best. They are trying too hard. If they kept it simple I think they would be more successful with their execution. The decor is warm and inviting and the wait staff was lovely. (Not so much the hostess.)

Sure the food is outstanding but what sets highball and harvest apart is the service

Liz was beyond exceptional and took her time in not only explaining the menu but also the history of the restaurant. She truly takes pride in what she does.

Hunter, Gary and Kevin were also excellent and took their time in explaining menu items

Will definitely recommend

Great creative cuisine. We enjoyed everything we tried. Appetizers in our group included Southern Spread, Waffle Fried Oysters, Crab Cake and Fried Green Tomato's. Entree's were Shrimp & Grits, Florida Snapper, and Sunburst Trout. Everybody raved on each dish. Wish we had tried it sooner and had another meai there.

What a great dinner experience! We did not know what to expect, but it turned out to be such a wonderful time in terms of food, atmosphere, and the lively music that was playing. The food itself was very large portions, the service was excellent, and it was just a really great time overall. Very impressed!

Great food, but the main attraction and reason we keep coming back is Robbie the waiter. Charming, professional, engaging , best waiter we have ever had, and we have traveled the globe ! He does magic tricks that are amazing !

Having eaten thrice at the exceptional Normans one floor up from H&H, I can say as a self ascribed foodie, this is every bit the delight as it's more expensive cousin. No, you don't get the 5 star treatment you get upstairs, but you also don't get the stuffiness that can sometime accompany that kind of dinning. Instead, you get wonderfully, carefully chosen flavor combinations in unique dishes that have depth. The triple dipped chicken is the most tender I've tasted with just the right spice. The Southern Spread appetizer was perfectly shareable among our party of four, and the special request cocktails were gladly prepared to perfection. Our servers Lenny and Angelica were brilliant and warm.

You won't be bored with the menu either as there is plenty of variety for everyone with just the right price point for value. If Norman's upstairs is a tuxedo (and it is) H&H is a comfortable Brooks Brothers ensemble. Try it, and you'll be as presently surprised as I was.

Amazing dining experience from start to finish. Greeted with a smile and promptly sat at our cozy table.

Angela was our server and made our evening fantastic! Very informed of the menu, explained our options in detail and had great knowledge and suggestions on what we might enjoy. Always a smile on her face and very courteous when returning to the table to ask us questions.

The food was terrific. Can’t say that I’ve had better smoked wings anyplace else. Shrimp and grits were tasty. Surprisingly it was the Brussel sprouts we enjoyed the most, and we are not fans of the vegetable. Angela assured us that we might change our minds on our feelings towards the bitter greens after we tasted these. She was right. Never thought I would say, “they were better than the Mac and cheese”.

Overall we had a fantastic dining experience at H&H and look forward to returning the next time we visit. Thank you for the relaxing, enjoyable, evening!

Robbie was our server at Highball & Harvest. The food is always excellent when we have been here, but the service we received pushed this to one of our most memorable dining experiences. Robbie was the best server we have ever had at any restaurant! He was friendly, went above and beyond to serve us, and had mastered every detail of the menu. If you go, insist on Robbie.

Planning our trip to Florida, I thought this might be a fun place to try and it was ! I was a little under the weather and everyone made sure I was taken care of ! The Hot Toddy they gave me helped :) Food and service right down to the 2 magic tricks by our server Robbie were awesome ! Appetizer chicken wings , shrimp & grits, and the fried chicken were great . The soup I had was delicious! The bread pudding for dessert my boys devoured it so I know it was good !

Love coming to this restaurant whenever we visit the resort. Staff and chef are very accommodating & will do their best to satisfy every request. My favorites include, the kale salad with grilled shrimp, Mexican corn on a cobb & flat bread with fig cheese and shrimp or chicken.

Outstanding service and food was delicious. Enjoyed the crab cakes and fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, as well as the “starving hunter” vegetarian menu option. Absolute must dessert are the donuts with hazelnut spread in a tube. Good wine list and cocktail menu.

This is a great farm to table restaurant with Low Country Gourmet food...think High Class Country. The food was delicious and beautiful. Our 8 and 9 year old daughters loved the food too. It is a bit pricey, after all it is at the Ritz, but it is worth the price. The appetizers are reasonable prices as are the sides. My daughter and I shared the fried chicken and got a side of balsamic glazed brussel sprouts. The chicken was smoked and then fried to perfection.

The ambiance was A+ as I chose it for it’s rustic vibe.
The waiter was A+, patiently answered our questions
The service was A+ I didn’t have to wait long for my drink order, appetizers, main course.
The appetizer A+, (short rib flatbread) was absolutely delicious.
The main course was C+, I had the “triple dipped fried chicken” it was two pieces of chicken with a corn waffle side that held an assortment of tomatoes and other vegetables I don’t remember.
My significant other had the skirt steak, she said she finished it because of the price ( I’ll get to that next).
I like to think I’m doing well for myself and I’m no stranger to high priced menus, but, the food nor the drinks were worth the prices. The presentation was great, but the flavor and portion size did not justify the cost. If you’re staying at the Ritz Carlton already, go for it, but it wasn’t worth the drive to try a new restaurant.

Located inside the Ritz. Service is excellent. Food, for the most part, is excellent. I would avoid the fried chicken. A bit dry and over breaded. Expensive for Southern cuisine, but it is inside a Ritz.

As a restaurant within a hotel, this is true hidden gem. We have been to this restaurant several times for all meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) but I feel the breakfast, particularly the breakfast buffet, is unparalleled in ambiance, aesthetics, presentation and quality of food. They offer the highest quality of vertually every breakfast food you can image. Each food seemed meticulously reviewed prior to being added to the buffet. For example, all of the berries/fruit were only the absolute most perfect specimens of food. No suspect spots or damage. Just the freshest and most perfect. The atmosphere is extraordinarily relaxing with great music played gently in the background and the entire place perfectly lit.

The staff are very well trained and attentive to every detail from etiquette/presentation/empathy to every request and anticipation of every need.

While this experience comes with a higher end price (I believe the price point was between $40-$55/person) its a great treat when you have the opportunity for a special occasion/event.

A consistent, unparalleled experience that is well worth the money and trip!

We had the most amazing dining experience. The food and service were exceptional!! Our servers Lenny and Robbie were incredible!! They went above and beyond for my husband, daughter (8 years) and our twins who were celebrating their 4th Birthdays!! Robbie is an amazing magician btw!!! We can’t wait to come back.

As always, the food and cocktails at H&H were phenomenal. If possible, the service was even better! Robbie took care of us like we were his only table, allowing us to eat and drink at our pace. He made excellent suggestions, and we loved everything we tried. Our favorite new item is the goat cheese grits. We ordered so much food, we had about five to-go boxes that Robbie carefully packed for us. Hands down, this is the best restaurant in Orlando for foodies who appreciate the whole experience! It's a must try for tourists and locals.

The Peach, tomato and burrata salad was to die for. Brined pork chop delish. But the star of the show was our waiter Robbie. He was extremely attentive, knowledgeable on the menu, and even did a little magic trick for fun. We’ll be back!

Wow! Our experience was exceptional! The service was fantastic. Our waiter was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the entire menu. He paid attention to the small things. He made very good recommendations for us all! He even asked the bar tender to create a drink for me around the things I like. The bar tender created something delicious and I was grateful! Everything we ordered was delicious! I mean everything, our apps, meals, and desserts! To top off an exceptional meal our waiter even sent someone over to our table to show our son some magic tricks! The magic was amazing! This restaurant is something special! We will return and highly recommend it!
