   Just a phenomenal meal at Herons last night… service is fabulous, the meal presentation was incredible, and dinner was delicious. It’s NOT CHEAP - you have to know going into this that you’re looking at a $500(ish) meal for two people. But the experience is one you’ll remember.

   Thank you to open table for reservations! Initially I called the restaurant direct and they asked my name and apparently said they were completely booked. Open Table immediately had reservations for us. The restaurant was empty for the majority of our lunch. Service was outstanding! Great atmosphere! Food was mediocre.

   The staff the atmosphere the good the view the respect and the parking everything was amazing. So clean the bathroom..I can't say anything negative all positive I will recommend the President to visit it was a dream come true..I asked my children to get me a gift card there for a weekend...😊

   I made these reservations in February because I just knew I wanted ART for dinner on my 36th birthday. And ART was what I got. Herons was superb — from the adorable, kind, and knowledgeable staff, to the creative and delicious food — it was an experience worth having.

    The best tasting food I have ever had. Its really expensive but I guess you know that going in. The portions could be larger. I was moderately full when we left but for the money I should have been stuffed. Once a year is all I would do this. Its worth it for special occasions but not a routine date night.

    I love Herons, probably my favorite restaurant in the triangle not only because of the food but amazing service and which is so important to me! Every dish I have tried, even the daily omelette special is made with thought of flavor and texture. At this point we dine here 2x a month.

    The service was Outstanding! And the food was, for the most part,excellent. However, the salad dressing is just too salty - for all our tastes. I’ve reviewed this before. Same feedback, my colleagues & friends said the same thing. All of us on this occasion, and all of us on my last visit, found the salad inedible because of the saltiness. Otherwise, a great meal.

    Absolutely wonderful anniversary dinner! As usual staff made us feel very special. Herons is the best place to celebrate and enjoy wonderfully prepared elegant food. Our server Scott did a great job. Everything was perfect. It’s our favorite!!

    We have chosen Heron's for a number of special occasions- they never disappoint. The food is always amazing, creative, a bit unexpected, executed to perfection. It is truly a first rate experience from start to finish. There really isn't another dining experience in the Triangle that can touch it- staff is thoroughly professional- loved Leslie, she was wonderful. Thanks again Heron's for an unforgettable evening!

    Front desk staff need to provide slightly better welcome. Refused to seat without all members present (missing 1) but without suggesting location to sit down, a drink or any other courtesy. Out of step with the whole environment of the restaurant.

    We were celebrating our 48th Anniversary. The food and service exceeded our expectations. Our waiters - Derek - and the team did a great job. It was easily one of the top five dinning experiences that we have enjoyed on our marriage. Highly recommend

    It was wonderful to return to Herons for lunch with a friend. The room is inviting and the service is solicitous, but not over-the-top. Everything about the experience was designed to make us feel welcomed and a little pampered. It's a special dining experience and one I look forward to enjoying again soon.

    The chef does an excellent job of combining wonderful flavors along with exceptional presentation. I highly recommend the wine pairing with any of their dining offerings. The sommelier pairing with the delectable dishes was the best pairing I have had. The wine complimented each dish as well as the food complimenting the wine, it was a perfect marriage. The service is exactly as it should be very attentive to your needs and wants. They all went beyond my expectations.

    Not sure what happened to Herons! 4-course tasting felt like a "food science" culinary experience from a NYC restaurant in 2010. Service was outstanding as was the wine, but the food missed the mark. Seemed like they were trying too hard to be edgy and interesting but in reality it was overstated and underwhelming. For such a high price point, you don't want to leave feeling less than enthused. I always recommend this place to friends looking for a high end restaurant experience in the Triangle, but will point them elsewhere after this experience. Bummer!

    This was easily one of the best meals we have ever had. A complete culinary experience. It was obvious a lot of thought and work went into each course. Each course had so many flavors that complimented each other. The wine pairs were a perfect match.

    In our experience, the sterling reputation that Herons has enjoyed was quite a bit tarnished. Our first (and now last) visit was as part of a brief staycation for my wife's 70th birthday. While I enjoyed my choices within the four course prix fixe menu, which focused on the avian cousins of the heron (including quail and duck), my wife was very much looking forward to her seafood-focused choices. In short, the first course was bland, the second course scallops were mishandled to the point of being like rubber (sent back after a fist bite) and her fish main arrived ice cold. Although it was barely edible after being reheated, it seems clear that neither the kitchen staff nor the management were ready to go back to the four course prix fixe menu. VERY disappointing!

    Worth a special trip! The wine, food and service were all outstanding. Easily one of the best restaurants in North Carolina--worthy of Michelin stars. Outstanding and fairly-priced wine list. The Sommeliers were outstanding and matched each course skillfully. Don't miss the oysters, quail, foie gras, 62 degree egg with shrimp, grits, iberico ham and truffle! Incredible beef with black garlic glaze. Wow. Dessert was very good, but perhaps a bit too deconstructed.

    Quail appetizer was the best. Turbot did not have much taste. The duck dish was very good. The Desserts were disappointing. The service was excellent. The wait staff was not as stuffy as other occasions.

    I’m vegan so it was great that they didn’t just accommodate me, the vegan dishes they out together were excellent. Everything we had was great. I loved the multiple layers of flavor and texture in each dish. There were plenty of surprises for our tastebuds. The service was excellent. The drinks were good. I’m definitely going back.
