Herb & Wood is the latest concept brought to San Diego by celebrated chef Brian Malarkey. Chef Malarkey has created a “Secret Garden”-style dining escape that incites long dinners, conversation, and culinary delight.

Our friendly and knowledgeable staff serve up delectable raw seafood dishes, house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and seasonal vegetables, along with the finest meats and fresh fish.

Seating is available both indoors and out, including plush booths, a garden patio, and an iron chefs table placed directly in front of the display kitchen. Herb & Wood can also accommodate your private party or event, with private dining rooms and event spaces available for groups up to 100.

Herb & Wood is such a beautiful space. Lots of fun sides to share, but unfortunately the menu is v limited for gf/df.
I ordered the chicken and it came grossly undercooked— a big disappointment— ordered veggies as a replacement. I left not quite full. Bummer!

Went for husbands birthday dinner with family. The waitress was quite helpful with wine choices. Gave me a taste of about 4 different wines. Was quite attentive at beginning and then service dropped off later in the meal. The other gaffe to the eve was when waiters took app plates before we were done. It is always best to ask before pulling plates. Takes less than a second.
Other than that food was very good. Atmosphere lovely. The wine was meh for price. I’d stick with their cocktails next time, which are really good.

The food was amazing. I liked the chef/owner was walking around, made it personable.

The dish I had was like no other, the fish wrapped in carpaccio .....delish.

It was my friends bday and they took care of him with a delicious confetti cake.

This is the next best spot. Super romantic but also fun and loud and great for groups. Not a quiet romantic, but a poppin, chic, fashionable and modern romantic. The food was amazing. The pizza was delicious, fresh crust/bread with mushrooms and a salad on top. The dessert was the best I’ve had in a while, called the Twix. You can’t go wrong. Delicious. 5 stars! Our waiter was nice, quick, friendly, not pushy but checked in at just the right times. And he was funny. All great times! I’m coming here again soon!

Lively place in Little Italy, San Diego with great food and service. The outside dining patio with fireplaces has nice ambience.
