Lovely venue and great ambiance. He dines on eye of rib eye, medium rare, which was good and pan seared broccoli cauliflower which was good. The only thing I remembered I had was the hamachi which was delicious; my entree was mafalde, very al dente (a ribbon wrinkled pasta). It had sprinkles of Dungeness crab and the entire dish was just so so. Overall, like the ambiance and service. Definitely have to try something other than what I had.

My last visit was when this was a super hot place to go and it was packed beyond belief. Now, pretty quiet on a monday night. Food was solid and good, decent portions and good service. Didnt feel as special as it once did, however execution was good, predictable, as expected and service was with a smile.

The food is always excellent at Herb & Wood! We ordered the oxtail, cauliflower and kale salad. We sent the kale salad back because there was something off about the taste and they took it back without any issues.

Celebrating my husbands birthday, wow, what a great time we had. Everything from drinks to dessert was over the top! Reminded us of being in London. Highly recommend sharing everything, you will not be disappointed!

I am on a business trip and decided to take myself out to a solo dining experience and found Herb and Wood on Yelp. When I arrived the hostesses insured they provided me with some comfortable seating options and went above and beyond with my indecisiveness. Tracy was my waitress and was absolutely phenomenal!!!! She helped me pick out appropriately portioned food selections and also helped me pair my adult beverages. I ended up with the hamachi, beet salad and the chorizo and honey pizza. All delectable. This will be a new recurring dining staple for my trips to San Diego. THANK YOU!

Chic interior, food well-prepared and not excessively expensive for the quality, and excellent unrushed service. The wine list is intentionally smallish and what there was seemed to be a bit pricy, so when I go back I'll likely bring my own and pay corkage.

Been coming here for years but never thought to write a review! Every single part of our experience is always impeccable. Came here on a date night with my husbad tonight. Food was outstanding, service is always gracious and helpful and attentive. The environment is lively but we can still have a conversation comfortably. Also a great place for a dinner with girlfriends or family also. Husbands cocktail was dreamy and I appreciate they’re on the paper straw wagon. The scallop special tonight was bomb and literally probably the best pork dish I’ve ever had. Valet right out front so you don’t have to stress on little Italy parking. 🙌🏽

After hearing several rave reviews about Herb & Wood, I was excited to try this place out.
Ambience - was great. Low lighting, not too quiet but not too loud that you couldn't hear anyone speak. Space was well done.
Service at the bar - Bartender was rude when asked if she could fix a drink that did not taste right. And then proceeded to tell us it was cost extra.
Service at the table - Our waitress was nice and helpful. I order a watermelon yuzu drink and she came back with Bourbon Honey drink. Told her she got my order wrong. She explained that the watermelon yuzu could only be ordered at the bar not at the table and recommended something else.
Food - The food was average at best. We ordered the Mushroom Truffle pizza, avocado toast, himachi dish, steak, seafood, carrots and sweet potatoes sides/entrees to be shared.

Food was decent but overpriced. Duck was rubbery, best part was the bread. Servers were a bit overwhelming with them at the table reaching across everyone every 3-4 minutes to top off water.

Food was good but way over priced. Avoid the rib eye steak unless u like to chew like your eating beef jerkey. Hamachi and burrata were excellent starters

Messed up our check (double the cost. It was another tables). Took too long to fix. It was so dark you could not see food. The chicken was uninspired.

Love the food and ambiance. Perfect spot for brunch. Waiters somewhat seems not really care about you, but are ( or at least pretend to be) friendly when serving.

To get inside the restaurant, you have to come in to the side (on a street). The place is nice, and well decorated. The price is ridiculous, and the food is forgettable. There are so many fantastic restaurants in SD far less expensive than this place. The service was just ok not great. For a fancy restaurant, I expected better and friendlier service. I wouldn’t come back, and if you were thinking of about coming, pass this one up!

Although we had reservations and were seated immediately, it took almost 30 min to get our cocktails. However, they were fabulous and the food was superb; the timing of the meal was perfect after our drinks finally were served. All in all, one of the best brunches ive had in San Diego.

Herb & Wood is my new favorite San Diego restaurant. Happy hour is a great deal but you have to sit at the bar. We always have excellent service and delicious food. Highly recommend the branzino, octopus, and bone marrow.

We made a reservation for 5 people for my wife’s birthday. When we arrived, there was a little wait to he seated. They tried to seat us at a little booth that was suitable for 4 adults, but clearly uncomfortable for 5 people. When spending several hundred dollars for dinner, comfort should be expected.

The server was very nice and helpful. The food was amazing, everyone enjoyed their dish. Overall the evening was great.

Many better options in Little Italy. Sorry, it was too "new" and trendyish. Dishes were creative for sake of being creative, imo. Little snooty, no homey like other Little Italy places
