The entire experience was incredible! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu (food, cocktails, wine, dessert, what, and how much to order) and guided our experience to perfection. The food was excellent! We were tucked into a corner and it was quite loud despite having a small table and sitting close to my guest.

Every single dish was spectacular. Carrots, broccolini, suchokes, nduja pizza, gnocchi, venison- every component of every dish delicious.
Mr Malarkey himself came to our table to congratulate us on our engagement and our server presented us with champagne. A wonderful evening I will cherish for the rest of my life.

first at the bar ,they wanted me to pay for every drink...that is cheap
I requested a bottle of barolo and told the weitrss to open it to breath..however she opened somewhere else, not in front of me, and brought it afterwards.
other than that all was fine...very nice environment .

Food was good but the noise level made the experience very unpleasant. Could not even hear the person across from me without significant shouting. Need to add noise absorbing material given the building structure.

Has been and continues to be one of my favorite places. Yes the food is amazing but the service is always excellent as well. The team is so knowledgeable and the manager stops by to see how we're doing. Everyone overall is sweet, the usual vibe here. It can be pretty noisy but my friend and j had no trouble hearing each other. I will continue coming back here with guests and friends :)

We took my 84-year-old father in law to this restaurant in an attempt to wine and dine him! That’s exactly what happened. This restaurant is one of my favorites and hits all the marks of a special occasion. The craft cocktails are delicious and not too sweet. The food is cooked to perfection with depth to the seasoning, sauces and flavors. We had 32oz waygu, salmon, chicken, broccolini, and potatoes for the table to share. The wait staff was professional and personable but not stuffy. Strangers complimented my 7mo baby. I’m trying to find a complaint but don’t have one for you. Enjoy!!

The noise level was so high it was impossible to have a conversation. Food was mediocre and uninspiring. Cocktails and dessert were the best they had to offer. Service was above average. I would not go back for a second meal.

We are locals and our first time at this restaurant and we absolutely loved it! We were running a little behind for our reservation but the staff never shamed us for it. They were still just as accommodating. I appreciate that the server knew the food on the menu and gave excellent recommendations. It was also a real treat to see Brian in the house! Great food, great atmosphere!

Excellent service. We accidentally spill some water on the main plate and they very kindle replaced it.

Food was amazing, loved everything there, really high quality in all ingredients, the fig toast brought me back to the fig tree my grandparents had at their house.

Meat from the ribs was super tasty and it easily split from the none, it was very tender too.

Thanksgiving. This was a beautiful traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the sides. The turkey was delicious. The braised short ribs were amazing. All the sides were great. The pumpkin and apple pies were a great finish. This was a nice way to celebrate Thanksgiving even if we were not together with family.

We got a reservation here for Thanksgiving, and frankly, my expectations were not high. We'd only gone out once before and the supposedly upscale place we chose that time felt more like a budget buffet. Herb and Wood's Thanksgiving turned out to be superb. My Fig Toast appetizer was almost worth the price in itself. My turkey, seasoned a bit exotically, was perhaps the best I'd ever tasted. It was tender, juicy, and alive with flavor. The salty, honey-butter dinner rolls with house-made cranberry sauce were also quite addictive. My wife chose the short ribs for her entree, and they were also sweetly delicious. Although the place was full, it was well-staffed and the organization and efficiency were indeed impressive. Chef Brian Malarkey, Herb & Wood's owner was also on hand, so that must have helped things go so well. Great job!

Parking is a nightmare on weekdays - just park 10 minute walk away. It's a little hard to find, but it's across from a closed parking structure.

Everything else is great.

I have been to herb and wood about 10 times. The dinner meals are not always good choices. I wish they had a regular filet without cutting it up.

The shrimp appetizer is always a favorite but the entree options really do suck.

The ambiance and service was fantastic! However, the food has some areas of opportunity. The entrees do not include any sides, which makes them not a good value for the price. The Branzino fish entree was pretty flavorful, but again small portion and no side. The Mafalde pasta was bland overall. It's a fun and laid back ambiance to get drinks with friends, but can't say its great for sit down dinner.

The ambiance and the food was wonderful, would absolutely recommend this place for a date night, great vibes, great energy and music… however would not recommend for elderly parents. We brought our parents with us. The staff seemed irritated when they wanted to move to a table with more light. The staff also seemed equally irritated when we only ordered one drink and appetizers. Also, the restaurant opens at 5p, we were standing outside with our parents a few minutes before the restaurant opened, but they wouldn’t open the door until 5p, which was a bit off putting considering we could have been let inside to wait at the bar until they were ready.

This place exceeded all my expectations. Food was absolutely amazing. We were in heaven. We had the goat cheese appetizer which was unbelievable, the Scarpetta wine which was a recommendation from our server and we loved it, the king trumpet mushrooms were delicious as were the roasted sunchokes, then we moved onto entree's - the gnocchi with oxtail was one of the best things we have ever had. And the salmon was like butter. Topped it off with the pear cobbler which we positively swooned over. Best dinner out ever. Highly recommended.

First time dining at H&W. Normal go to spot in Little Italy is Born & Raised. Overall very good. The food we had was absolutely delicious. Started with Oysters and Bone Marrow, what a combination! and the flavors were amazing. The oysters were sautéed in garlic, oil and of course herbs. Next we tried the Butter Lettuce and it was very light, shareable, and the creamy yogurt was delish. Recommend.
For entrees my wife had the Quail-bbq sauce, which is listed in the appetizers, but it’s a generous entrée portion. Very good. Recommended. I went with their signature dish the Branzino. I can honestly say it was the best Branzino I have ever had. If you like fish…this is a must try. Respectable wine and cocktail menu. The Sauvignon Blanc ‘Sancerre’ at $18/glass was excellent!

The only negatives with our experience here at H&W was that the host(s) were not professional and inexperienced. For example, lots of 2 person tables available at the time of seating and host seats us at a table next to a large loud group? Fortunately the manager re-sat us at a table that was somewhat more intimate. Our waiter seemed not interested and impatient on Q&A (maybe having a bad day.). The place was packed on a Tuesday, and very loud. Watch for the large black horse statue (blocking) pathway at hostess stand, seemed a bit odd, but We look forward to dining again at H&W!

It is a great choice… note, due to open roof, it cam be cold-DO bring a jacket. This can also cool your food if you are eating slowly and enjoying conversation. This is a slight bummer.

Drinks are good, staff is very attentive and food is good.
During these lost Covid times we all expect higher prices-such is the case here. Value to price is medium…perhaps a fair match, but not a deal.
