Drinks, food and service were all spectacular! Zachary took amazing care of us and was knowledgeable about every single ingredient on the menu. I loved my strawberry gin cocktail and the roasted oyster and bone marrow appetizer. The speck wrapped prosciutto and mushrooms were stellar and so incredibly well executed! We finished with the peach cobbler and tart topped with their respective light but complimentary ice creams. The ambiance and vibe of the space made you feel so comfortable. I loved that the vegetables were shown just as much love as other items on the menu. Definitely a must try during your trip to San Diego

The hostess said she would come get us when table was ready (we sat at the bar in clear view of her) and did not i had to go ask about our table then she put in a walk way and it was so loud i could not hold a conversation with my wife because it was so loud my wife ordered the filet mignon and the waitress said sorry they were out that is unacceptable so she had to order chicken which was ok not bad not great but ok as for the waitress she was awesome

Everything was fabulous. The food was tasty. The service was fantastic. The only thing is I don’t eat much salty food next time I’d say go easy on the salt but my husband was fine with it.

Date night dinner for 2 on a Saturday, food and service is excellent, place was hopping busy all over, I would not recommend our table as it was right next to kitchen area and a service door that had constant traffic in/out by the staff

The ambiance is great. The food was a hit and miss. I thought the himachi and shrimp was good. The carrots are a must have. I had the Branzino and it was very so so. It did not have much flavor and could have used some salt. It was also not boned well. The venison was not gamey and cooked well according to another guest at my table. When asked about wine, the server went right to a $139 bottle of wine. She was a little car saleman- ish with pushing the upswell. Overall it was a good experience especially because we had good company. For me it’s probably a one and done visit.

Service was excellent and vibe was cool, however prices seemed extremely high for the quality of the food we received on a busy Saturday night. Cost for 3 people $360 before tip ( 2 cocktails, 3 meals, 2 sides and $130 bottle of wine) While the food read nicely on the plate when presented, taste/flavorwise all our dishes were very heavy handed. Hubby's venison was improperly overcooked to medium (venison should always be cooked rare to medium rare), daughter's half chicken was tasty, but the side kale was ripped in huge pieces and dripping, seriously dripping in oil. My roasted branzino was overly seasoned and the same over handling with the oil here. The fish is gorgeously presented on the dish with what appeared to be a nice chili oil underneath. Nope. It tasked like plain vegetable oil, I didn't enjoy it. Side dish of broccolini was overcooked (not bright green) and bagna cauda was flavorless. Also didn't feel the goat cheese matched the flavor profile here. Lastly were celebrating hubby's birthday and they graciously offered a dessert, but it was heavy handed and unsatisfying too. If you are not a serious foodie and want a fun, lively place with great service it is fine. I just imagined a Malarky joint to higher quality food. Also, I hated the fake plants in the center. Totally bad vibes dude, fresh and alive is what makes all LIFE sing!

I ordered mezcal n flowers drink came out 99% ice complaint to waiter 3 times about it why so much Ice it’s not like a $6 dollars drink or cheap drinks at the club it’s at a nice restaurant common stop being so cheap. Maybe need a new bartender like a classy one. Waiter didn’t care didn’t offer a new drink just said it is what It is so I returned the drink. Oysters and bone marrow dish was super salty if you want to get a stroke then order that dish. Won’t come back for sure blahhh

Thank you, Nolan for such a great experience. My husband and I were there for our 5 year wedding anniversary and everything was fantastic! I’ll be dreaming about those mushrooms until our next visit…and the blueberry soufflé-there are no words!

We dined for the first time at Herb and Wood for our 30th wedding anniversary. Enjoyed it would be an understatement. Everything was at a high level from service to the food and drinks. My monogrammed ice cube in my old fashioned cocktail struck me as an example to the attention to details. I wouldn’t change anything to the balance and composition of flavors that we experienced with our dishes. I especially took note of how all my bites were well flavored not just with one or some. We will be back.

One searching for excellent food in a "happening" venue could not do better than this dining experience. Located in a converted industrial building, the restaurant has ample seating and a large area accommodating a noisy bar scene. Our table had Iberico pork, shrimp, and bucatini, and everybody went away pleased with the quality of food and service. Drinks were fulsome and the wine list adequate for a semi-casual evening. I would love to return for the food choices, but this is not the place for a quiet romantic dinner or a serious business conversation.

We always come for the branzino, it’s amazing, hands down. The waiter Aaron (who wasn’t our waiter,amazing guy. Knows his stuff) suggested the We had the oysters with the bone marrow. When I say this dish blew our minds! It really was a total experience, and one that’s able to be shared with your table. Love this place you CAN NOT go wrong by coming here.
