    Pork belly appetizer was great. Mushroom side dish was very good as well. The main courses were not great unfortunately. The tuna steak was very fishy and could possibly have made a great sashimi, but the fish taste was overpowering as a steak. Didn't seem Fresh. The Wagyu NY Strip also fell short. It was rather cold, tasted gamey, and other than the sauce (which was very good) I definitely feel like it was one of my least favorite steaks I have gotten at a fine dining establishment. For almost $80 the value definitely was not there. Service was spotty and we were only checked on a few times during the meal which lasted around 90 minutes. The water however was spot on and refilled constantly so that was nice. Overall I don't believe we will be back.

    My husband and I enjoy going to Herb & Wood when we are in San Diego. We try to go a couple of times a year. Always a pleasure dining at this restaurant. Amazing food, great service, nice ambience. We always love the Butter Lettuce Salad with crispy shallots, and my husband usually gets the Roasted Branzino. Both are utterly delicious. Last time we were there, I had their famous Gnocchi with oxtail. Perfectly prepared and so rich and delicious. I could not eat it all, but I will have a lovely lunch today! We also loved the seasonal Jamon Iberico appetizer--a tasty bruschetta served with a very special prosciutto from Spain. It was incredible! It was delicious with the Butter Lettuce Salad to start. We don't always eat dessert, but we loved the Strawberry Souffle with house made Rhubarb Ice Cream. I don't have the words to describe how delicious it was, but I could eat that everyday!

    Herb & Wood was such an incredible experience. The restaurant was busy, but it did not compromise the quality of the food or the attention from the staff. The staff was timely, kind, and made great recommendations. The drinks were some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had and I was dreaming about the food the following day. I will be planning to go back during my next trip to San Diego.

    Beautiful vibey space! Food was delicious but very expensive for what you get. I ordered the gnocchi with oxtail and literally only got one forkful of meat in it…and a glass of Cabernet was $26. I would recommend for special occasions but not a go to dinner spot.

    Herb & Wood is one of the best restaurants in San Diego. Lively, yet intimate atmosphere with exceptional service. Their menu is incredibly diverse, a very unique take on tapas. My wife and I had eggplant hummus with olive oil, pickled vegetables and fresh baked nan bread, outstanding! The Ibirico pork for an entree was succulent. We finished with a strawberry shuffle for dessert, which was executed to perfection and topped with fresh rhubarb ice cream. One of the most delicious desserts we've ever had! Hight recommend for date night, birthday or anniversary. Always a memorable experience!

    Overall this place is beautiful and the drinks are amazing! The appetizer was really good! The shareable side of potatoes was the best thing! My wife had the steak it was okay I had the brenzino and it was okay as well! They add so many ingredients on everything that you can’t actually taste the main part of the plate! Good to try once but not again!

    This was our second time dining at Herb & Wood, and once again, we had a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional, the food was both unique and flavorful, and the atmosphere was lively without being overly loud. We started with the Butter Lettuce and Hamachi appetizers. For our main courses, I had the Roasted Branzino while my husband enjoyed the Swordfish. We finished with the Date Cake and a complimentary birthday ice cream. Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of cherry, so my husband happily enjoyed that part for me. Overall, it was a fantastic evening, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.
