    We had a reservation for 5pm. However, we were seated next to the bar where patrons were hovering over our table and talking loudly. So annoying. Waitress kept forgetting our requests and took a half hour to give my check as requested. The seafood was fresh and hot. Waitress had sarcastic humor when replying to our needs.

    Met some old friends for dinner. Everything was perfect from the ease of parking to the quality of food, presentation and service with perfect timing. Large picturesque windows over a courtyard and canal. I only wish we would have requested a window table. For a visitor to Providence, it’s a must.

    We had a delightful lunch. We split the burrata salad and fish tacos. Perfect for 2 people. The kitchen even gave us 2 tacos each. The fish was lightly fried and the toppings were delicious. The restaurant is light and airy with a nice view of the river. Our server was terrific... helpful and affable. I've had dinners there but never lunch but it was a great place to spend a few hours on a hot summer day.

    Dined at Hemenway's for a Birthday celebration on a Sunday afternoon. The host was extremely professional and personable. Amy our waitress was very attentive and has a great personality. My husband had a ginger Mocktail which he found very refreshing and aromatic. We started with the calamari which was delectable with a light aioli. I had the Milanese flounder which was lightly battered and had small vegetables. I found the dish very flavorful and there were two pieces of flounder. My husband had the swordfish which he enjoyed. He had the chocolate torte for dessert and there was a candle. The decor in Hemenway's is a classic fine dining ambiance. I understand that there is a business casual dress code but there was a family dining who were attired in t shirts and shorts. Why were they dining if they did not abide by the dress code? The man was not wearing a collared shirt but a t shirt, shorts and flip flops which is more appropriate for a seafood shack on the beach. I would suggest posting the dress code outside at the entry.

    Hemenway’s is the perfect place to celebrate! We told them it was our anniversary and they set our table with rose petals and the staff went above and beyond to help us celebrate! We enjoyed the local oysters and no one does a whole fish quite like Hemenways! Between the food, service and overall vibe, you can’t go wrong!
