Opened in July 2011 by self-taught chef Mikael Jonsson, Hedone has quickly established itself on the London dining scene receiving acclaim from national as well as international reviewers.
In October 2011 Hedone won the One to Watch award at the National Restaurant Awards and got awarded of its first Michelin star in October 2012,followed by breaking into position 63 of the San Pelegrino world's 50 best list.
Hedone offers a very innovative setting with a totally open kitchen that serves to show that the chef has “nothing to hide”.

    Delicious food, full of flavour and using exquisite ingredients. Service friendly without being overbearing. More non-alcoholic drinks would be a bonus for non-drinkers!

    This was my 4th time visiting but it was 5 years since last time. Went with friend who went with first time we had great experiences then.The food was all lovely especially the mains,we ordered extra course.Although supposed to be added on instead of 7 courses we should have got 8,we missed scallops which other tables were getting.We were not sure then but surely by mistake. Although the food was good but we felt the pricing both food and drinks are much more over priced.It was double the price compared to usd to be but the food quality was much better years ago,even we had more drinks.We loved the style that we could choose different menus instead of one set menu.There are many places with the half prices with this quality therefore we were disappointed. We had lovely reunion and wedding celebration dinner time though.

    There was only 1 table of 2 men and 1 man sittind at the bar and we were the 2nd table (2) reserved for the night which tells everything

    There were a lot of children there during brunch time so the restaurant was very crowded and noisy. The children were running around the waiters didn’t ask the parents to take care of their children. The food was good but served very slowly. The timing from dish to dish is not good and there were only two waiters for the whole restaurant.

    Hedone is a small, comfortable but elegant space. As solo diner I had a bar stool seat that overlooked kitchen, which I enjoyed. After a fairly long wait in my seat before anything happened (water, menu, any kind of attention), service was efficient if a bit impersonal and rushed. As for the food -not much to criticise, nor much to rave about. Umami flan with red pepper coulis- nice enough. Three ravioli filled with chicken stock- yum. White asparagus with hay smoked hollandaise- great sauce but washed out by bland asparagus. Perhaps not quite the season yet? Juniper-smoked Salmon, sorrel sauce (trademark acidity barely noticeable) and beetroot- OK, but a long way from greatness. A pre-dessert of rhubarb sorbet with lemon meringues, intriguingly with a wine pairing of its own- nice, but no better or more interesting than one I could have made at home. Only main course and dessert stood out as memorable and delicious: double lamb chops were meltingly tender and full of flavour, accompanied by a great carrot-apricot combo. Dessert featured an intriguing chocolate coated mousse pillow with gentle coffee and yuzu flavours, a sprinkle of cacao nibs and a teaspoon of red miso ice cream- a brilliant combination that confused and excited the taste buds. My "classic" (cheapskate) wine pairing was great- three fantastic whites, two wonderful sweet wines, and a pinot noir with the lamb that was a little underpowered and youthful for my taste, but then I'm not a connoisseur. On the whole, it's been a perfectly nice dinner but not really the memorable experience I hoped for. I can't afford to have Michelin-starred dinners often, so when I splash out this much I hope for "wow", not "perfectly nice".

    The food is still really good but for the price one can get as good or better elsewhere so as wine list/ service do not matching the price level we will not be going back.
