Excellent food and quality of service, but the atmosphere seemed a bit generic and loud for a higher end restaurant.
I went here with 3 of my friends on a Saturday around 7PM. The service was amazing and our waiter was very attentive. The drinks were great and well explained. The only issue I had was the food. The ideas were all great but I felt the chef couldn't bring it home. A few of the plates just weren't cooked to perfection, and for almost 700 dollars I feel like it should be on point. I would definitely come back and give it a different try. I enjoyed the chef's choice dinner and the presentation.
We were sold the Sunday night version of the Friday (Valentines Day) value 4-course. (My wife’s bday). It sounded like a good deal, but it was a pretty tired and uninspired meal. Was that Heartwood’s A-game? Maybe not, but I don’t know if we would give them another shot.

Noisy but food was wonderful - really recommend the brussell sprouts.
What an amazing experience at Heartwood. Atmosphere set the tone and we loved every bit of it. We were sat with full view of the kitchen and it was amazing watching a very professional and well trained kitchen staff. Our waiter was outstanding, with patience as we took out time and enjoyed the experience. Food and pairing were fabulous. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Everything, from start to finish was absolutely perfect. The food was AMAZING... the Sturgeon, scallops, and Octopus were all the freshest I've ever had not to mentioned cooked to perfection. I cannot wait to go back! Our server was great too. Big thanks to Shavonne!
Beef tartare was very poor. Brussels sprouts were quite good. Everything else was médiocre and 50% overpriced.
Overall, will definitely go again. NYE made the service a bit slow, otherwise, and excellent choice.
There is no telling how many times we’ve walked right past Heartwood on 1st.... and we were missing out, because it was the best food and craft cocktails we’ve had in downtown in quite a while! Cheers!
Enjoyed our experience there very much! Unique place, great menu and creative drinks. Very nice and attentive staff. Open seating and comfortable atmosphere. Awesome burger. And bartender Chris makes a great drink! Highly recommended!!
Food was good, service was an interesting mix of casual and finer dining. All in all we had a great time, but felt that the food was still far too expensive for what we were actually getting. $42 for a beef cheek pasta dish? Really? Check your prices and maybe we’d go again.
This place looks cozy and inviting, but it’s too big to be good. Our food was served cold, including one dish which was undercooked. We were comp’ed for that one, but still... Service was on the obnoxious side. We were seated in a vacuum at the very back with none of the other tables around us filled. What an odd experience, and so expensive!

Heartwood is a high-energy place with lots of people here for Happy Hour. The food is generally good. Our cured sockeye salmon appetizer was excellent. The apple and pear salad was very good but the beet salad was a little unbalanced. The scallops were very well prepared. Service is good.
It's a great location and very energetic, almost too loud.

Food was not as good as it’s been the last 3 times I’ve been here. Maybe Seattle Restaurant Week popularity is to blame? I had the trout and presentation was not the same for the 3 other patrons I had with me.
For instance one dish was missing the sauce component, the other was a little more fried and for the desert course the panna cotta was burnt.. the waiter said it was part of the Smokey Flavor but the individual who had it said otherwise.
I still love this place but this last visit was not like previous visits.
Soup appetizer was delicious. Very good entrees, not spectacular. Dessert too sweet. Very busy and loud, not particularly conducive to a date and conversation. It consistently has a delightful party atmosphere. By the looks of the multi-peopled tables, that is its strength.
Our server Susan is the best! And she’s gorgeous!

Food and drinks were delicious. However, service left much to be desired. We were seated immediately, but it took 15 min before a server came by our table-and only after we asked someone to help us. She was nice, and food arrived quick. Our first course well before we got our first cocktails. :( ... But then it was spotty again thereafter. It wasn't very attentive - we had to reach out to order dessert, and our second helping of ice cream took a long time, one having already melted when it arrived to us.
I have no problem supporting mandatory service charges at restaurants - but I'm unhappy when the level of service isn't what it should be for 20%.
Fantastic service, food and ambiance
I took my friend to Heartwood for his birthday on a Saturday night. We had reservations at 8pm. We arrived at 7:45 and happily grabbed an available bar opening. The drinks were well made.
Perhaps they were short-staffed that night, because we noticed our counter seating appeared to be ready by 8pm, but no host or server came to retrieve us for the seating until 8:10pm. (Just a tip: they ask that you close out your bar tab before you are seated in the main room, so if you are anticipating that, you might want to request a bill and get that taken care of ahead of time). We let the server know we had reservations at another bar at 9:45pm, and ordered a charcuterie plate when we sat down. The charcuterie arrived at 8:45pm. The kitchen staffed looked swamped, which I can appreciate and empathize with, yet the restaurant was perhaps 30% full of diners. We reiterated the later reservations to our server, and put in our main dish orders (steak and braised short ribs). Those arrived roughly at 9:10, so we were able to eat somewhat quickly, pay our bill, and leave on time. The meat was all cooked very well, and the short ribs were well braised and had great flavor.
The servers were very gracious about the whole situation, but it was somewhat mystifying as to why the staff was so backlogged that night.
The restaurant was wildly understaffed for a Saturday evening which really impacted the quality of service.
My friends birthday. Our service was beyond good, the scallops and cauliflower purée were amazing!!! We were on a time schedule to make a show and our waiter was so great!! I’ve already told many people to go to Heartwood Provisions and I’ll definitely be back!
The food and wine pairings were exquisite. We much appreciated our wait staff moving us away from the large loud parties. Everything exceeded our expectations.
Scallops and foie gras were excellent, service excellent, like this place a lot. Pancake accompanying foie gras was best I've ever had.
We ended up getting some shared plates rather than mains. Everything was delicious.
Food was overpriced, salty, and the meat (pork) was really dry. Menu was a little too “chi chi” and we struggled to find things to order - plate half empty. Table next to us somehow got a burger that wasn’t on the menu - we were jealous.
Disappointing. This restaurant was part of the "Savor Seattle" tour. I enjoyed their "Original Provision" dish (beef jerky in a spicy sauce) so we returned for a dinner. I was excited to support this largely female owned and operated venture. Both of us ordered the Prime Filet Mignon, medium rare and medium. Both were undercooked and I question it was 8oz before cooking. Our server was distracted, didn't check on us and kept forgetting our drinks. It was a disappointing experience.
Birthday dinner spot. Really fun. Well designed. Good service. Loved the drink pairings. Brussel sprouts amazing. My sister didn’t love her meal, and when she told the staff they more than made up for it!

We had a new server this time, and while we've always raved about service at Heartwood Provisions, we really enjoyed Dan. He took the time to answer all our questions, accommodated our food sensitivities etc., and did it all with a smile. Very personable service and a great overall experience. Food was AMAZING! Always fun to introduce friends and family to Heartwood because it's a foolproof wonderful time!
We stopped in Thursday 7/25 for dinner. Overall we had a great experience! We plan to come back the next time we’re in town!
I always eat here when in Seattle. I love the crispy brussels sprouts! I also love whatever salad they're serving with ricotta and fruit. This time it was grilled nectarines and tomatoes. Delish! My companion ordered the beet salad. It was fantastic, too! Also, the basket is fries we're crispy and delicious.
