Lovely experience. Dress warmly for the sleigh ride and remember to tip your wranglers.
Incredible sleigh ride. The food and drinks were outstanding along with our server. She went above and beyond.
Absolutely worth it! It’s a short little ride but Bella and Buella do not disappoint! The food was soooo amazing too! So glad we did it!
Sleigh ride was amazing- dinner was delicious!!! And excellent service- we will be back soon!!!
quite a unique experience!! the sleigh ride with Belgian Horses was great. the sleigh drivers gave a historical overview of steamboat springs during the ride. quite entertaining.
the food was great and was topped off with a chocolate fondue for desert!!
Impromtu family sleigh ride and dinner. The ride was fun and guides were informative and offered to take photos. Dinner was lovely. The food was delish and beautifully presented. Staff was attentive and obviously glad to see us. Happy we decided to do this at the last minute! Spectacular sunset during our ride was the icing on the cKe.
It's advertised as a restaurant but it's really just a golf course grill. The service was poor. We waited 15 minutes before anyone approached our table. It was a "substitute" waiter who thought he could help his overburdened associate. He took our drink and appetizer order. The drinks came soon enough but the appetizers never showed up. The table was dirty (dusty) and we asked our waiter to clean it. He got a rag and waived it at a quarter of the table surface and disappeared. The food was ok, not special and slightly cold. The only really good thing bout it was the price.
Thanks for a great time
Great food. Nice quiet place.
Great spacing. Wonderful food.
Great food and plenty of it. Staff was super friendly and easy going. Enjoy a quiet dinner on the amazing patio. I would recommend it to anyone.
Great atmosphere in a lovely setting overlooking the golf course . Food is great and it was nice to see a few changes in the Friday menu. We frequently eat at Haymaker.
A most pleasant and enjoyable outside patio dining experience. Staff was attentive. Good safety measures in place and practiced by staff and all guests.
This was a fantastic experience! Our kids were even given carrots to feed the beautiful horses. The food was fantastic, and everything including all the staff made this a wonderful and memorable experience. Thank you again!
We felt that the description was misleading. "Drinks" were hot chocolate and cider. Anything alcoholic was charged at the end. It would have been better for the wait staff to clearly state that alcohol would be charged extra, especially considering the hard sell they were giving it. Additionally, we were charged an upcharge for bigger pours, without ever being asked if we wanted a bigger pour of wine or not. Why not include a house wine, one per paying adult, in the price? Also, the tipping policy was not made clear until the final bill was given. While I like to be generous with wait staff, I felt that I was mislead into tipping twice for bar drinks. When I was tipping at the bar, I had no idea that those bar charges would be added to the final bill, on which I tipped 20%.
The fondue was a real treat, and a great pairing with the moonlight ski!
This was our second Full Moon Fondue dinner, and it was even better than the first time, which was also a 5 star experience! Chicken was perfect, cheese was tangy, and the chocolate was plentiful! Went on a sunset cross country lap with my sweetie, and then sat by the windows and enjoyed a peaceful date night. Couldn't have been better!
Haymaker is a very nice place to eat. Food usually very good. The fondue night was not particularly great. We prefer their regular menu.
great sleigh ride, great food and great service. 8 years running
The evening was very organized from start to finish. The driver confirmed for pick up and we went to haymakers for some amazing appetizers and cocktails before heading out on our sleigh ride.
The setting was breathtaking. I am glad we took the 4:45 time slot so we could see the views in the light.
After our ride, we headed back for a wonderful meal. Although the dessert was fabulous, I would suggest that the restaurant give kids the option for simple scoop of ice cream. I felt bad that my kids didn’t appreciate the decadent desert.
The evening with a horse-drawn sleigh is lovely. The driver - Dave - and the pair of horses - Beulah and Bella- were charming. The restaurant is pleasant space and the wait staff super friendly. That said-we had the chicken and the trout. Both were so salty they were inedible. Disappointing with a meal so costly. So go for the experience- not for the food.
I've taken kids and grand-kids to the Haymaker dinner on 2 occasions this winter, and I think this is our favorite family dinner in Steamboat. Both times the entire staff was excellent, as was the sleigh ride and dinner. There was a good variety of appetizers, including delicious marinated steak, brie cups, caprese sticks, and fruit sticks for the kids. The sleigh drivers are friendly and enjoy talking about the horses and answering questions. For dinner, we've had steak, lamb, trout, kids' cheeseburger, and the mac & cheese. All were excellent, and they packaged up our leftovers and we enjoyed them the next day. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff -- they're friendly, kind, and accommodating with our 2 to 4-year-old grand-kids. One night we were there and there was a marriage proposal, so I'd say it's a good place for couples too :-)
Moonlight snowshoeing and fondue dinner
From the appetizers, soup, salad, entree and dessert, it was all outstanding! It was a beautiful night for a sleigh ride too! We had a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed the whole experience!
Trout was outstanding but dessert was a little dry. Staff was fantastic and very concerned about us as we got lost getting to the place and were running late. Sleigh ride was interesting and the night sky beautiful
We are Steamboat locals and this was our second time enjoying Haymaker's Sleigh Ride dinner and we love everything about it. From the moment you walk in the door you know it's family friendly, casual, cozy and delicious. Be careful not to fill up on the delicious appetizers before dinner. There's hot cocoa for the kids and they're happy to let you take your beverage on the sleigh. The driving team are amazing, great local info, friendly and fun. I really appreciated that they divided up the groups so the ones with kids were all on one sleigh and groups without kids on a separate sleigh. Everything about this was thought thru and well done. The food is exceptional too. The whole experience is fantastic.
Loved everything about this experience! We arrived to a very welcoming hostess who told us how it all works and then we got Hot Chocolate or apple cider and snacks before the sleigh ride. The sleigh ride was awesome and by the time we got back they got us all settled in to our table and gave us our food. As soon as we were done with part of our meal the next would come, it all tasted wonderful! Everyone there was so genuinely kind! We would definitely recommend Haymaker and do this again for sure!!!
We were greeted with a bus to Haymaker, where we filled out menu of what we wanted. At the Haymaker, the appetizers were tasty. We then went for a sleigh ride for about 30 minutes. After we arrived back, we had an amazing meal. Everyone was so nice and attentive.
Beautiful moonlit cross-country trail, romantic dinner by the fireplace. Fondue night = perfect date night! Great food and great service! Can't wait to do it again!
It was an amazing experience! The sleigh was wonderful!
A great overall experience the only drawback was that it was pretty loud with kids.
Very romantic, memorable, even with other people around, highly recommend
Nice atmosphere, upscale feel. Good menu for most people but not many vegetarian options besides a very basic salad,
It was great our 3 kids ages 8, 10,& 13 also enjoyed it! Everyone was very friendly and accommodating! Thanks!
This was my first time at Haymaker. The venue is lovely, with views of the surrounding Yampa Valley hills and mountains. We enjoyed the friendliness of the ranch hands who handled the teams of horses for the sleigh ride. The driver had a sweet yet clever sense of humor while his assistant was very informative about the area. The sleigh ride was briefly interrupted by a fun opportunity to make snow angels! We returned to the restaurant, where our table was immediately ready. The server inquired about food allergies or sensitivities (none). The soup was delicious (minestrone is not a favorite of mine, but I would have had a second bowl, if the salad wasn't so appealing)! The bread and honey butter was a hit! The ruby red, Colorado-sourced trout was delightful, lightly topped with a mild red pesto. Sautéed vegetables and rice pilaf completed the meal. A terrific tiramisu added the final touch. The staff was attentive and informative. We felt relaxed, warm, and welcome.
The special snowshoe full moon fondue event was fabulous! Beautiful full moon, an hour of snowshoeing (others xcountry skiied) followed by a delicious fondue dinner (and chocolate fondue for dessert ). The waitstaff is always friendly and attentive. We had a grand time and will look forward to attending this special event next season.
Loved the sleigh ride, the atmosphere, and the food. Our family wants to do it again when we come back for sure!
The experience with the beautiful horses was great but the view wasn’t. You ride in a circle in an open golf course. The ambience is great and people are friendly but food is better in town. One thing that was not necessary was to charge us 2 dollars for a glass of ice. Pricey experience that you think they could not charge for ice haha.
Thank you for your feedback. I am hoping you did not get charged $2.00 for a plain cup of ice. If so please reach out to me (970-879-1265) . I am thinking it was the $2.00 upcharge to your drink that you ordered on the rocks. The way it prints on the receipt makes this very confusing. Please rest assure that the upcharge wasn't actually for the ice but the extra ounce of liqour we pour for you when you are getting a drink on the rocks. I hope this brings some clarification. Thanks, Carla
They rushed us in and out....brought our jackets to the table to usher us on our way. Too much money for that service.
I am so sorry to hear about your experience .We really try to ensure that all our guests have great time and apologize that was not the case for your party. I take these comments very seriously and will follow up with the staff on how last night came across to our guests, how you felt rushed and tools to prevent this in the future. Thanks for your input and do not hesitate to reach out if you would like to provide anymore feedback on your night. Sorry again, Carla 970-879-1265
Had a rough time last year but this year we picked Haymaker for our dinner/sleigh ride for Mom. We made a great decision. Thanks Haymaker! You made Mom happy which makes our family happy..
