Hawksworth Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Exceptional meal, one that I won’t be forgetting easily. I felt like we were looked after by each and every member of the team, at every step of the way. It is obvious that there’s is a wide knowledge of the food from the staff, and a command of the wine list. I would definitely recommend Hawksworth for a special occasion that deserves going fine dining for!
Julie was our server a couple of nights ago and she was excellent and very professional. We were on a date night and everything was top notch and very creative in presentation. Very impressive food. This was our first time there. This restaurant will exceed expectations. Anne
Again a great dining experience at Hawksworth’s. Clear highlights for me are always the spectacular cocktails and the deserts. This time I was pleasantly surprised with two different types of fantastic local oysters for starters and sable fish as entree. Everything was perfect and delivered by knowledgeable, impeccable waiters. Currently best Vancouver high-level eatery in my book.
Never would have gone without getting a gift card from our son (also never would have heard of Hawksworth). We took forever to finally go, but it was a great dining experience. Our waiter was responsive, knew the menu inside and out, and had a fun personality. The attention to detail was noticeable from all the staff. Food was fantastic! Not a cheap date-night, but was an experience worth the money. We will go again...
I booked Hawksworth for my boyfriends birthday with the expectation of having a 5 star, fine dining experience. It was the first time dining at Hawksworth for both of us but had heard great things and we were both excited to try it out. While we both had a great meal, we were disappointed with the the service we received.
As an example, the sommelier proactively came to our table to introduce herself and ask if we had any questions so we asked for a recommendation on a light red, based on my boyfriend having duck and me having lobster - she recommended a rose or a cab sauv as categories of wine to consider- neither of which were good recommendations for our meals. She then asked if there was a region we liked and seemed to be scrambling - for a restaurant of this caliber I was surprised they didn't have a more confident or seemingly more qualified sommelier. When another server came to our table to help out I specifically asked about wine recommendations however, they only addressed my boyfriend and completely ignored me.
In the end, our dinner for 2 was $400+ - included pre dinner cocktails, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a bottle of wine. The value for $$ was definitely not there.
Good and service were what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber, unfortunately the room was so loud it made normal conversation impossible. There were a couple of tables in particular that were extremely rambunctious and it severely detracted from the evening.
THIS IS A MUST!
We did the tasting menu with paring. What an amazing decision. The thought and artistic mind that was put into these dishes. DEVINE.
Each dish was paired with the perfect wine. When I disliked the wine that was paired the sommelier went and found me a wine that would pair with it. Attention to detail. Overall a definite must!
Thank you for an amazing night
It has always been a very noisy restaurant; some attention to noise dampening would be welcome. The table just off the walkway to and from the kitchen should be abolished given the high-end prices and dining experience. Trying to seat anyone here is shabby!
Every dish was phenomenal in both taste and presentation. The Alberta Striploin was delicious and all the flavours and texturs really complimented each other. The scallops were cooked perfectly and we just devoured every bite. The sablefish was good. Dessert was the dark chocolate with cacao nibs. It was really good except the mint sorbet that tastes like toothpaste. Excellent service, a bit loud but very enjoyable.
Love this place. Hawksworth catered our wedding reception at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia a few years ago. We and our guests were very satisfied with the quality, taste and overall finesse of the affair. Tonight we celebrated our anniversary by dining at the restaurant to see if our palates are still enthralled by the seasons bounty. Highly recommend! Delicious dinner well worth the high price.
