Tucked away in a former brewery just off Seven Dials, Hawksmoor is the spot for seriously good steak, seafood, and cocktails right in the heart of Covent Garden. Whether you’re settling in for a long lunch, grabbing a bite before or after the theatre, or just fancy a perfectly chilled martini at the bar, it’s the kind of place that feels special without being stuffy.

The menu is all about top-quality British produce—grass-fed native-breed beef cooked over charcoal, sustainable seafood, and proper seasonal sides. And if you’re around on a Sunday, the roast is not to be missed: dry-aged beef, crispy beef-dripping roast potatoes, and ginormous Yorkshire puddings. I have never experienced a staff that works so well together. Along with my main waiter, st least three others were concerned that every aspect of my meal was satisfactory. I also like the intimacy of the ground floor. When I left, I asked for directions to help find a taxi. The young lady brought me to where I needed to go and would not leave until I got into s taxi. The food is terrific, the atmosphere is terrific, the people there are the best!

The food was very nice but fairly long wait for the steak. We had a margarita served in a chipped glass and barely any apologies. The venue had no music at all so it was just loud noise all around of tables talking and shouting. Besides that really tasty steak and the waiter that served us was super attentive.

We had the best meal — everything was spot on. The steak was absolutely outstanding, and the staff were just as impressive: warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive without being overbearing. You could tell they genuinely cared about creating a great experience. I can’t wait to bring the rest of our family so they can enjoy it too!

Welcoming us when we early, great suggestions for food. Everyone took care of my wife and our three grandchildren before we saw Matilda. It was a magical experience that was the highlight of our brief visit to London.
