Tucked away in a former brewery just off Seven Dials, Hawksmoor is the spot for seriously good steak, seafood, and cocktails right in the heart of Covent Garden. Whether you’re settling in for a long lunch, grabbing a bite before or after the theatre, or just fancy a perfectly chilled martini at the bar, it’s the kind of place that feels special without being stuffy.

The menu is all about top-quality British produce—grass-fed native-breed beef cooked over charcoal, sustainable seafood, and proper seasonal sides. Been to Hawksmoor lots of times over the last few years, always been impeccable. Took my son this week for a special day out, he loved his steak. I ordered the Sunday Roast Beef and to be honest found it a little chewy and I didn't particularly enjoy it. The roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings were a little dry and hard too. The waitress did ask if everything was ok when she collected my plate, but as I didn't want to embarrass my son I said yes. The bar area didn't seem as customer focused as usual either. The waiter who looked after us while eating was incredible though, thoughtful, attentive and considerate. I love Hawksmoor, have always had great experiences there and will continue to recommend. Maybe just a day when it didn't all come together. It also looked like there were lots of group bookings, however it's an expensive venue, if it had been my first time, I might have expected more.

Good meal and SA cab sav. However, we were seated next to the kitchen window. Every 5 mins or so, you could hear timers go off, presumably that steak was ready. Tbh, it was a little off putting. We would have asked to move, but could see no tables available.

We were visiting for my son's birthday and had to leave shortly after the meal for the theatre. They brought him a plate with a box of chocolates we could bring with us - so considerate. The meal and ambience was amazing

Came here from America. Food was absolutely amazing. Bone marrow was delicious. The garlic butter mushrooms were out of this world. Steam was cooked perfectly! Service was excellent!!

Hate to report that Seven Dials was a big disappointment. While the service was good, the food & ambiance were not. My wife's chicken dinner was the only entree that passed muster. 3 other diners & I all ordered steaks of differing types and doneness. None of us was happy because all the steaks were overcooked and tough which is pretty damning for a steak house. If you are one of those who like it so loud in a restaurant that you can't carry on a conversation with your dinner partner then this is the place for you. Avoid this place if you are looking for a quiet meal. Prices are also exorbitant.

I usually have a fantastic dining experience at Hawksmoor, but today was a little poor in comparison. The lunch menu seemed like reasonable value, but the steak was fairly small and each portion we received seemed a different size to the other. The steak tasted great though. The chips were awful, really over-fried and didn't taste of anything except boiling hot oil. The service which is usually fantastic wasn't the best either. Slow to bring out our food, not particularly pleasant, brought out the wrong bill, and a very unusual tactic of bringing us a QR code to scan and pay the bill? I understand saving paper for receipts, but it removes all the interaction with the server, who to be fair didn't seem very interested in serving us anyway. Overall, not the best experience for my partners birthday lunch pre-theatre.
