I had such a terrible experience here! I really wanted to enjoy it but I had such a bad time here. I came here 2 times before and really liked it but that was back in 2014 and 2015. Now the portions are a lot smaller and the dishes are so average and bland. When I went for my birthday dinner on Sunday afternoon, they were out of half of the items on their menu and I couldn't order almost any of the salads because they were out of spinach and sprouts as well as eggplant. I was so disappointed and definitely would've left if I could. I ended up having a really bad time here by wasting $30 on some other dishes and then going to another restaurant instead. I will definitely not return nor recommend this place to other friends.
We are there at 5:30 so it wasn't very full. We scored service a 3 star bc although they were nice, they didn't check on us enough. Food was good.
We had an Iron Kick and a Tough Monday juices. Both were very good. Then we had the Stuffed Artichoke, which was bland and a random mix of temperatures, and the Fettuccine, in which the fish was hard.
Lovely meal with a dear friend. We hadn't seen each other in years and wanted to catch up so this was the perfect spot because it is quiet (but not too quiet) and you feel like you can have a private conversation without anyone eavesdropping. We are both vegetarians so this place is perfect - a great place for non vegetarians, too. We both had the red lentil bean soup, which was excellent. For my entrée, I had the vegan squash pasta - oh my gosh, it was absolutely delicious! We enjoyed our meals with their house wines - also excellent. Wonderful meal, wonderful evening, and I will definitely be going back.
My boyfriend and I came to Harvest Organic Grill with a friend in hopes that we would find something on the menu we could all eat. I'm vegan, my best friend is vegetarian and my boyfriend is a meat eater. I ordered the Veggie Mixed Grill and it was delicious! Definitely recommend this dish to anyone, even people who eat meat. We will definitely be dining here again because everything was delicious.
The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. Extremely flavorful and delivered with fantastic service! Can't say enough about this restaurant!
Our server Celso was great! He was professional and friendly.
I enjoy the food as always, but the organic wine is what keeps me coming back for more!
The place needs to be lightened up. Dark. I
The food was good, and the service was great (friendly, helpful, and kind).
The food was excellent and the service was very good. Great to have a neighborhood restaurant with healthy food. Manager outstanding.
We like going to Harvest Grille when we want to enjoy a good meal and enjoy a good conversation with friends.
My husband loves their Kobe Beef Burger. I tried the grilled Salmon and it was cooked perfectly.
Attentive staff rounds out the dining experience in a nice way!
Between my three friends and I, the 4 appetizers, 4 entrées, and 4 desserts, EVERYTHING was delicious!
We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! We thoroughly enjoyed the organic food & wine!! Dessert was so-so... but we will definitely be back again!
Friendly service with a personal touch by the owner. Nice atmosphere, loved the organic food, choice and affordable wines. Definitively will return and try more dishes
Everything was sooooooooo good, I am still wondering if it was really organic (Lol).
This location was chosen specifically because of its name including organic as a focus. The ambiance of the restaurant gave me a feeling of being at a neighborhood buffet. The scallops and crab cakes were delicious. However, I was thrown off with the spinach ravioli, and the enormous amount of sauce in which it was embedded. So we both decided that the food should receive a 3 out of 5 overall.
Our waiter seems to be a better fit for a host based on his personality. He walked away for long periods of time, and was forgetful often as well. We ordered a bottle of wine and were responsible for refilling our own glasses. I can say more, but think any patron should try it out at least once.
The Chicken Parm was AWESOME, the lemonade great, the taste over all was a very pleasant.
Attended for Houston Restaurant Week with 2 friends. I had wanted to try Harvest as I like the concept. 2 of us sampled the HRW menu and found all 3 courses to be quite good. The 3rd person ordered a pizza, which arrived missing the cheese and very little sauce; it had to be re-made and didn't arrive until the table was almost done eating; and the pizza was just okay as the vegetables seemed rather wet, and not really baked. Timing between courses was also slow - we were not in a hurry, but there was a large gap between courses.
We chose to sit in the bar area; the main dining room was louder and warmer due to the pizza oven and open kitchen area. Also sitting in the bar area, the bartender had to cover the bar and the tables, so service was a bit slow.
Overall, the food was good and I would return to try some of the great sounding menu items - especially the $25 brunch buffet including bottomless mimosas - but I will be sure to sit in the bar area.
Not much flavor in food but great options
It was our first time to dine at the restaurant. Everyone enjoyed the food & we had quite a few things to eat. We tasted things from the appetizer, soup & salad, wine, entrée, & dessert lists. No complaints on the food or drink, however, we found the service to be rather slow. Definitely not a deal breaker, but you may want to give yourself extra time when you go. We plan on going back.
Food were consistently good for each visit and for a variety of dishes we tried.
We loved our lunch...clean, organic, and healthy food priced for everyday dining!
Great place and great food. Diana was an incredible waitress. Huge menu and super fresh food. We will definitely go back.
The service was horrible only because the three servers attending the entire restaurant were ridiculously over extended, while the manager stood around with his arms crossed watching the mayhem. The food was mediocre at best, nothing to go back for. Pass.
The lentil cakes were delicious! I also had the Harvest Eggplant, and I didn't see or taste any green bell peppers, carrots, or parsley in it. It was an open eggplant with mostly tomato and meat over it. Wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I did like the buglur pilaf that came with it. Will have to try the stuffed artichoke and harvest skewers next time around. But those lentil cakes are hard to resist!!
My brothers, sisters and I really enjoyed ourselves. My brother who rarely tries anything new. Well he tried everything and loved the lamb chops. Great place, awesome food and even better service.
This is the second time I have been here. Not only is the food excellent the server we had was exceptional. I wish I could remember his name. I had him twice! My friend and I had the lobster bisque and we split the Kobe hamburger. Both were excellent. Lunch is also served with a nice selection of rolls, olive oil, hummus and olive caponata. Our server was delightful - both times for lunch and I had this server! He makes your takeaway special by skillfully folding a brown bag into an origami work of art.
A must try!
Sunday brunch $25 buffet included hickey wings, racks of lamb and have-it-your-way omelette and more. Dessert and bottomless mimosa are also part of the deal! Tasty and cozy. Need I say more? Reserve your table right now!
Maybe it was the notion of a Fountainview address whose door faces San Felipe? Or, perhaps it was the frenetic bustle of a weekend brunch in a small space? Then again, could it have been the inherent allure of organic fare brought down by mediocre quality? As the review title indicates - manage your expectations.
The staff was accommodating when we ordered a meal from the valentines menu which was nice. However, the food was very bland. We ordered fish and a burger. Also, the brand of gin they use is very different from any gin we've ever had and it was very unappealing. Overall I would not recommend harvest grill. You could find a tastier meal elsewhere.
Ate outside, and on a nice night, it was really nice.
There is amazing variety here - from mixed grill, to steak, to stuffed peppers. I'm a carnivore and my friend was a vegan; we both had no problems finding great meals. I'm also a big fan of their awesome organic juices (Much better than Jamba Juice) and hummus.
I clearly told my waiter at the beginning of my meal my allergies. However, after 3 times bringing the wrong thing, they finally got it wrong, but at least allergy safe... had to eat at a different time as the rest of my party. Very annoyed!
Pizza was good. Skewers seasoning was too spicy. Kobe burger was okay.
I've eaten at Harvest Organic Grill many times. The food is always wonderful and flavorful. John is the owner and he helps to make one's dining experience a memorable one. Great place !
Everything is health-focused. They even have an wonderful wine list and some wonderful organic wines. The menu is extensive, the atmosphere is so inviting and quiet which is rare to find these days when dining.
It is so worth a try.
Very friendly attitudes. Food was good, not remarkable.
At last a restaurant in the Galleria area where Vegans and Vegetarians can take their friends who eat animal products and dine in a comfortable place. The varied menu includes a good selection of Vegan items. Everything is cooked at the front of the restaurant in full view of the patrons, the seating is comfortable, the service is friendly and efficient and the prices are reasonable.
I've been meaning to get over to this place for a while now. Finally made the dip and I'll likly become a regular. The food is stunning and the service simply excellent and friendly.
How cool to find an organic restaurant with care given to healthier eating and good tasting food. Looking forward to trying a few of the dishes from among a cool variety. Very well priced for this quality.
