   We showed up for our 5:15 reservation and waited just a few minutes for a table. We waited about 5minutes before our server arrived to get our drink order, but were poured water and greeted by whom I presume to be a good runner. Our appetizer came quickly and so did the French onion soup. When the rest of our food came we still had dirty dishes on the table. I ordered a 12ounce filet prepared rare with a side of green beans. I was given a slab of meat butterflied with a side of potatoes. The food runner took the plate away and stated they would let our server know. She came about 5minutes later and apologized asking if there was anything she could get me while I wait. I said no and figured a rare steak should not take very long, but I was wrong. About 15 minutes later when the other 3 dining were almost finished eating I received my steak brought over by a manager with a side of mashed potatoes. I politely said I did order green beans and she apologized and quickly went to get the proper side item. She asked if there was anything she could get me and at that point I was ready for another glass of wine so I asked for that. Our water glasses were filled maybe twice and the rest of the time that was on us to do. The serving station was right behind us so the amount of people standing around as we sat at a table with dirty dishes and empty glasses was unacceptable. We finished our meals, boxed a few things up and ordered some desserts to share. We got our bills and a glass of wine was comped for our troubles I guess. What a disappointment! I expected a sincere apology by a manager, maybe the one that brought my meal incorrectly the second time, but she never came back by. I felt like the server was being sly on the bill also because she had charged us for 2 filet’s and then wrote one off on the bottom. Was that suppose to make us think you wrote off my meal? I expected better from a $$$$ restaurant and will unlikely ever go back

   The steak was great. The service was pretty terrible. Had to keep reminding and asking for cocktails and didn’t get greeted for 15 min after being sat. Asked twice for a server. A Walmart experience for crate and barrel prices.

   After making reservations at the beginning of the week, once we arrived we were seated upstairs in small quarters. Not what I wanted given ample notice. It was very noisy. Next time, if there is next time, we’ll opt to sit at the bar. Food and service so so.

   Harry & Izzy’s has for years been for years our favorite dining establishment. However this visit has knocked it off our #1 ranking. When we spend over $150 for 2 adults & 2 children, we expect the usual exceptional service. Our main course was presented while we were still enjoying our appetizer at an already overcrowded booth table. I had to ask my wait person multiple time for things and also had to ask for an included side. While my prime rib sandwich was edible, it wasn’t $26 worth. Of course, the white horseradish sauce is always very good! Most of our issues were service related. Please keep your excellent service consistent.

   My hubby and I had dinner there last night. The meal was delicious. Due to food allergies I had to ask them to leave a few ingredients out and adjusted with other items I saw on the menu. They were extremely kind and they assured me they could make the accommodations for my meal to be safe and delicious and oh my was it good. You can never go wrong when you have dinner at Harry and Izzy’s Downtown Indy.

    The food and service were amazing at our recent visit. We were celebrating our son’s birthday, and the server was extremely nice and attentive. All of the food was wonderful, but the bread pudding dessert was the best that I have ever had. It takes about 15-20 minutes to make, but it was well worth the wait!!!

    Knowledge that we made this reservation after a year deployment. It was our first date back together, and it was marked on the reservation… They gave us the worst table in the bar, and we had to move seats, they never address the special occasion, and they gave the walkins in front of us the nicest seat in the house! Honestly was the worst experience we’ve had there. Sad… Food was not awesome. Steak had a perfect cook, but was underseasoned and had no char on it; no flavor. They were out of bourbon that we were asking for, but didn’t tell us ahead of time… Guacamole and bread pudding saved the day our waitress forgot about us for about 45 minutes of the evening and sent other people over to talk to us because she was “too busy“. Overall would give 2/5. Will need to heal before we come back 😢

    We were seated by the host, given water and told our server would be with us shortly. After waiting nearly 15 minutes without even being greeted by a server or submitting our drink order, the host came back when seating another family to ask if we had been served. He went to get another server (Jordan) who did everything she could to help the situation. When our salad was served we asked for an extra plate and for our bread basket. We had to ask three times for these items and it took nearly 15 minutes to get these things. After waiting another 20/25 minutes (so now about an hour into the visit) we inquired about our entrees. We ordered those as soon as we could as we had other plans. They said they would check the status. When the food came, my daughter’s steak was not edible. We did not have time to address this so we paid the bill and left. The manager did come to apologize and paid for our appetizer. Jordan tried hard to make things right but it was an overall very bad experience that is not typical for Harry & Izzy’s. Not sure if we will return anytime soon which is a shame…this is one of Indy’s staple restaurants.

    Meal was awesome. Great meatballs for appetizer and fantastic steak. We did have a very large and loud group next to us that distracted from our overall experience but not something the staff or location could control. Overall enjoyed this return visit to H & I.

    Overall you can't go wrong. We booked our table almost six months in advance to make sure our team was set during a busy trade show. We will book again for next year. The shrimp cocktail is still being talked about as the spice was powerful and very nice.

    Reservation was for 445. We were seated by 450. Waiter came for drink orders and shrimp cocktail order quickly. Food order was fine and food tasted great. Big portions of steak and potatoes. Both tasted great but we could not eat all of our dinner. Will return.

    I normally dine at the restaurant on 82nd, so I knew the restaurant flow would be the same. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with this restaurant. Food is amazing, Drinks are amazing and you don’t break the bank for a quality night with your friends, wife, or date. The servers are professional and chill. My whole experience just had been amazing. Shout to Harry & Izzy’s for still providing quality service and food.

    Our group of 5 had a rough night. Our meal took forever. We received apologies from multiple managers but we never understood why other tables were being served and we were not.

    Great food enjoyed the lunch deal. Service was a little slow. We had tickets for theatre and it took nearly an hour to get our first course of food. The service was great, just slow food. We got take away boxes for the last course snd made it to the show. Friendly and kind despite our request to bring checks and take away bags early. Recommend mentioning theatre tickets even if you think you have time- but as long as you do you will have a truly lovely meal. The shrimp cocktail is amazing and enjoyed the soup of the day and romaine salad. Sliders were amazing too. It was all great in the end.

    We love Harry & Izzy’s and go there frequently. The food is always delicious. And the service is usually above par. However, our most recent experience was a disappointment where the staff tended to ignore us and it took longer than usual for our entree to arrive. The lead waiter finally came over and offered a free dessert which we chose to take home with us. But she must have packed the oldest, worst flavored slice of cheesecake they had. Needless to say this won’t deter us from going again as it must have just been an off night.
