Reservations are required and must be made a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Seating is limited.
Eat somewhere else, brash greeter and buffet you can do much better.
It’s a shame that this place has adopted a limited buffet menu plus a Tuna plate. We enjoyed it a lot in the past but this time the food was not interesting or to our taste.
Poorly prepared food
What a delight to discover this great little bistro. It’s a dozen tables in a curtained off section of the Hart theatre. But the food was interesting, portions and value terrific and service, with Jim as server, was well above average.
We had the ahi appetizer which was quite large and well presented. And we each had the “small portion” of the chicken pot pie, which came with two sides. We took food home!
The chef here is just a gem, we hope there is enough business to keep her in Waynesville since the Hart Theatre is seasonal. Can’t wait to try it next year!
Food is very good. LOVE the option of choosing a small plate or entree size and receiving the ssamefood just smaller portions with the small plate.
Our server is delightful great attitude and excellent service.
The omelet station is excellent, with enough choices to satisfy any omelet fancier. Menu items are delicious also, including shrimp & grits, garden salad, bacon, grits, sausage. The staff does an excellent job of making sure the omelets and menu-ordered items are delivered very close to the same time to those dining together. Small wait staff, but they are courteous, friendly, and do an excellent job. The restaurant also offers locally crafted beers, wines, made-to-order bloody marys, and maintain a complete bar. A great place to dine before a play at the HART with brunch on Sundays.
Everything was great! From service, to food, to ambience.
Sunday brunch before going to the show, Mame. Bunch made everything special.
We had a great family Sunday brunch! They were very accommodating to our need to add more people at the last minute...starting with 16 & ending with 21 people. The service was terrific, even when they were faced with our family members coming at various times. The food was perfectly done and delicious, whether you had an omelet from the omelet bar, shrimp & grits, or their special french toast. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend for other family gatherings or small group.
What a great place! We had a large party for a family brunch and Christy was able to handle last minute changes. We were seated outside and it was lovely. Best of all, brunch was great! Loved the omelets and Gouda grits! I highly recommend This restaurant!
Wonderful food, pleasant staff - very attentive. Not rushed and a quiet atmosphere where I could catch up with a friend without yelling to be heard. Love that they have my favorite SanPeligrino water and good wine list, too. Definitely a great brunch location!
The experience was delightful. My guest was very pleased with her meal and the setting. I would not hesitate to return either for myself or with guests.
6:15 reservations for an on premise 7:30 musical and we were rushed. I'd guess 30 people were seated. No one met us at the reservation podium but a nice man who introduced himself as being in charge of lighting confirmed our reservations on the books and said there were 2 empty seats so they must be ours. A waiter told us we could sit. We ordered and our soup and salad was served at 6:56....yes I know because I was getting concerned about being late. My friend stopped the waiter 3 times to get a second drink. My option for water was the room temperature glass of water that was on the table when seated. By the time our entrees were served we quickly ate to avoid missing the play. There was no offer for dessert or a drink which was fine because we would have been late. The food we were served was good. Perhaps if we had been local patrons the service and timing from the kitchen would have been better.
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner before the play. Our waiter was attentive and the food was unique and delicious.
Service by Andreas and Jeff was excellent. Food was delicious and well prepared. Plenty of good options And the chef came out at the end of the meal. We told her how much we enjoyed the meal
We love the city of Waynesville and now we love it even more after visiting the Hart Theater and Harmon's Den. The food was excellent and we like the choice of a small plate or a large plate. Andreas was able to remember our (4 of us) names and did a great job with his service. As a matter fact, the entire staff did a whale of a job. The loved the Million Dollar Quartet play after a wonderful dinner.
Everything was tasty, especially the Bloody Marys! We were there for Brunch before a show.
We had the Omelet Station (good choice). The only thing I would point out was that we ordered Cheese Grits (which were good) and extra Sausage to accompany our Omelets, and these 'sides' were brought out while we were enjoying our drinks and hadn't gotten our Omelets. They sat on the table until we got our eggs. Of course, they were cold, but we ate them anyway! This was just a miss-communication with the wait staff, I'm sure, and it won't keep us from going again.
Convenient for a bite to eat before seeing a play. Easy access, and casual dining for a pleasant day.
The food was truly devine! Every single item was tasty and impressive. Not one food item was average. Staff was very friendly, kind, and thoughtful.
The food was delicious and the servers were knowledgeable and considerate. Small plates as well as entree size we’re available. Good variety of food as well as fresh. A good place to eat before a play.
Perfect location for dinner before seeing a performance at HART. Food is thoughtful and creative.
Dined on 4/27 prior to performance at HART. As usual, food was excellent and service is always good and personal. Intimate and friendly atmosphere. Menu is very practical in offering both "small plate" and "full" versions of entrees, allowing for sampling a variety of offerings. Had the mushroom bisque and chicken schnitzel with red cabbage, both excellent and reasonably priced. Give the Bistro a try.
Service was a little slow today. Some tables that had sat down after us were waited on and served before us. Food was good as usual.
Absolutely wonderful! The mushroom bisque was amazing. We had three small plates, catfish tacos, three-meat meatloaf and pork ribeye. I didn’t try the catfish tacos, but my wife really enjoyed it. The meatloaf was very good and tasty; the pork ribeye was to die for and a must try if you are debating. We managed to save room for desert, and I must say, we’re not disappointed! The lemon-blueberry crepes and the grits, gelato and candied bacon were the finishing touches on a wonderfully delightful and delicious meal.
Loved the chef and servers. Omelette was wonderful!
The most impressive for a first timer aspect was the service. The staff was exceptional in catering to your needs. By the way, the food was pretty good too
Food and service was great
Wonderful! Highly tecommend
Enjoyed the meal. Staff was pleasant and fairly efficient. Would have preferred not to be able to look at three trash cans through door to the kitchen. The base level of the music was way to high and they did not seem to be able to modify it. All in all, though, we would return again when attending a play there.
Nice option for a special occasion. A little pricy compared to other places for same choices.
The service was outstanding. Food was well prepared and quite tasty. The menu, while small, was well designed and provided a good selection of choices. The evening we were there did not involve a show in the attached theater, which resulted in a quiet evening. When shows are in the attached theater, I suspect it could be quite busy. In sum, I would highly recommend the Bistro for before show dinners. I will return.
Food was delicious and a good value. It did seem that there was not enough wait staff to service the customers in advance of the theatre production.
Service and food were fantastic! Would definitely recommend to others and we will certainly return!
This was the perfect place for pre shoe dining! Food was great! Service very attentive!
We both had fresh trout that was cooked perfectly. Asparagus soggy and potatoes cold. We requested a specific wine for a carafe and were served warm (more than room temperature) chardonnay which I believe came from a box not from the vineyard we ordered. I understand the restaurant is new so I would probably give it another chance. Friendly and seemed to care about quality of service and food. Therefore, I would probably give it one more chance if in the area again.
Really enjoyed first experience pre-theatre dining. Excellent food, very friendly wait staff, both chef and theatre director stopped by our table. Small and quiet, and especially appreciated not rushed. Added benefit: got to hear rehearsal for Fiddler on the Roof. Definitely looking forward to our next pre-theatre meal.
Absolute gem. Delicious food - particularly the cucumber soon. Great service. Delightful place for dinner with friends before the play at HART. Try BOTH💥
We were the first at the restaurant at the opening time and the food was cold on the buffet. I had said on the reservation that one person was gluten, soy and dairy sensitive but there was no alternates to the menu
This little bistro is full of charm and warm-wooded ambiance. There is live music here with local artists, which is a plus. Open before and after theater plays, as well. The wine I had both times I've been there has been particularly tasty. The food is excellent and unique. And the dessert gorgeous and lush. Wait staff are not intrusive and make diners feel special. And, this is a nice place for a single woman to dine safely and without any intrusiveness.
