Seven of us had a graduation lunch at Harbor, and the view, the food and the service all were spectacular! We loved the restaurant, the wharf on which it is perched, and the pelicans outside. What a classic but relatively informal ambience with classic seafood specials and large portions.
We had a wonderful 45th wedding anniversary dinner and our fine waiter brought us a cheese cake bite complete with beautiful rose strawberry and chocolate Happy 45th Anniversary message! What a nice surprise...so tender and thoughtful! Our food was delicious, cooked perfect , making a very nice presentation. Even though the weather was rainy, windy and cold, our hearts felt warm. Thank you...we will be back on our next visit!
I have mixed reviews on this restaurant. Our waiter and all of the staff we encountered were excellent. Our waiter was extremely attentive and did a great job. However the restaurant itself could use a bit of a renovation. The floors were not swept and looked a little rundown. The food was also a bit of a mix. We had an excellent coconut shrimp appetizer, however the remaining food was underwhelming. If you are looking for drinks with a scenic view, this place is fantastic. However if you are looking for a really great meal, this is not your place.
Awesome food and service- perfect for our large party of 8 including 2 kids and 2 teens. We even had a fun table with a giant sailboat sail in the middle which the kids got a kick out of. Would highly recommend... especially compared to Moby Dick!
Great date-night there
Outrageously overpriced for Christmas dinner and a terrible buffet. Service was poor starting with the front desk hostesses that we’re too lazy to close the front door that kept getting stuck open despite clients being cold. We had a reservation and they took 40 minutes to seat us despite having open tables. Our waiter seemed to be new at the job not offering a wine list only trying to sell us some champagne special. Out table didn’t have all of the silverware and it seemed to be a challenge for them to do the smallest basic things. It was by far the worst restaurant experience I could have imagined.
Service staff was attentive and friendly. Waterfront view was outstanding.
Went for Christmas brunch. Food was ok but not great. Waaay too expensive for mediocre food. 4 people and Bill was 350.00 with 1 beer and 2 orange juice. Who wants prime rib beef well done ? That’s all they had. Very disappointed. Nice view but that’s about it. Service was not terrible but not good either
The staff was Very Pleasant
from beginning to end
Their seafood selection is so fresh and tasty
We’ll keep going back
Great atmosphere- wonderful service- good food
Need more waiters. Our waiter was too busy and would take a while to come to our table.
We saw this place on open table as we were in town for vacation. The atmosphere was so charming and the view of the ocean was amazing. It was decorated for Christmas which was beautiful. We got the special feature which was lobster tacos and they did not disappoint. Bartender made stiff drinks!
Great food and Great service ... best Views ... and easy Parking ...Five Stars
It was Thanksgiving so very crowded. The tables were way too close together. The food was delicious and a lot to choose from. The staff was friendly and the views were amazing.
Thanksgiving buffet was a bit expensive at $75, but the selection was bountiful and food of high quality.
Over sold reservations to create a disastrous evening! Ran out of plates, knives, coffee cups and wine glasses...when they did have them they were filthy!
My husband and I decided to press the EASY button for the first time this Thanksgiving. The holiday buffet had a wealth of choices. There was seafood galore with more traditional selections of carved turkey, ham and prime rib. They even had a Kid's Table for our grandson! We witnessed another beautiful sunset in our own hometown, our server was lovely and no dishes to wash. It was a super energetic atmosphere and packed to the gills! Reservations only, so don't expect to walk in on a holiday. We saw numerous people turned away before we were seated. Great memories made!!
Thanksgiving dinner buffet very good!!
food was good - service was spotty - staff overworked and hard to be attentive
The Thanksgiving buffet was extensive with not just turkey but also prime rib, crab, oysters, shrimp, scallops, muscles, clams, and all the trimmings including many deserts. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired as it was difficult to get our plates cleared for the next course and it was tough to get coffee served. The servers were friendly and were trying hard but I suspect staffing was insufficient and that there was also a lack of appropriate training.
My youngest son had recently moved to Santa Barbara so my daughter and I traveled from the Midwest to spend Thanksgiving with him. I love cooking Thanksgiving dinner so was a little skeptical about having Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant. If I could eat at the Harbor Restaurant every year I may never cook a Thanksgiving dinner again! Our experience was amazing! Devine food. Fantastic service. Atmosphere exceptional. Even if you have a kitchen I’d highly recommend celebrating at the Harbor!!
Thanksgiving buffet was amazing!! Will definitely be back next year.
We left without ordering after finding that the menu features overpriced non-local seafood. When the server could not identify any fresh local seafood available at this restaurant on the wharf in the Santa Barbara harbor, we got up and walked out.
Had a very enjoyable meal with my mother and teenage children. Food and service were great. A bit pricey, but the restaurant is out on the pier so a big part of that is location.
This is on the pier and has a great view.
The food is OK. The fish could be a bit fresher.
I'm not sure why we were crowded into one section of the restaurant very close in with others when the entire restaurant was pretty empty.
Being close to the front entrance was a bit annoying because when noisy customers first presented their voices would carry right into the restaurant.
Also being close to the front entrance was near the door which kept opening and closing-letting in the cold air.
The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all very good. I would visit them again.
Celebrated our 30th wedding anniversay with a few days away in Santa Barbara-we liked this restaurant so much, we came back two nights in a row! The $19.95 Lobster Special was amazing, the staff was friendly, service was perfect and the views cannot be beat!!
We had a fabulous view. The food was delicious and the service was superb!
Great experience and great food. Went for my girlfriends birthday and they made it very special for us. Ricky was an awesome waiter. Definitely worth it.
Great birthday dinner (for a local!) We eat here at least 4-5 times a year! Always a pleasure.
This was our first time dining here. The food was just ok and not very warm. This is more of a place to go for a drink and an appetizer on the deck. The staffing is very young and inexperienced and the restaurant seemed pretty dirty.
Always the best food consistently. Best view in Santa Barbara. And greatest manager, David, and wait staff! Never, ever disappointed!
A fun night with a large group after the dog show in Santa Barbara. You can't go wrong with the view and the seafood selections on the menu lus some non-seafood items. the drinks and wine are good, food is reasonably priced and the view is worth every penny Park on the pier, they have valet parking and it is convenient for persons who have trouble walking far.
Great view of the sea and Marina, excelent menu and great food
While the food was good, the poor service absolutely ruined the experience for us. We arrived with a reservation and the restaurant was not busy. They hostess asked us to wait while they were getting our table ready, which took 20+ minutes for a party of 6. We asked for a status update twice and were told they were "still getting it all ready". Once finally seated our waiter started out strong and quickly took our order, even though he didn't seem all too enthusiastic about their menu offerings. The drinks came out fast and so did our salads, but that's when everything seemed to come to a halt. We sat for almost an hour before the kids' meals were finally served, and the waiter checked in on us maybe once during that time. He ended up apologizing for the delay and offered free dessert to make up for it, just to then take our check and credit card and disappear for another 15 minutes. Overall we spent more than 2 hours at this place, mostly waiting around and fighting to keep the kids calm while they sat with no food. Would not recommend unless you have lots of time and patience. The food might be worth it, even though we did not get to enjoy it much.
Ottima aragosta. Prezzi assolutamente onesti. Da richiedere tavolo con vista sulla baia. Location incomparabile.
Lobster bisque, calamari, clam chowder, salmon, poke, and fish and chips. LOVED the bisque and everything else was good and better than my low expectations for this tourist trap. It’s not gourmet, but it was well done. View was great and was really the point of the whole endeavor.
This is a great restaurant. We had a great overall experience! When we arrived, we let the hostess know we were here for an open table reservation, we then asked about the place upstairs, she explained it was the same place, just a different name and asked if we wanted to sit up there, we decided to do that. The upstairs place was called Longboards, it was excellent. The servers were kept very busy, and it showed in that we received slower than average service, on top of that, they did not mark that we showed up with open table and we had to dispute our attendance.... it looks like it was all taken care of. All in all I wold say this was an excellent experience, and I am going to chalk the very small service issue we had to it just being a super busy day and time. This was a great place to eat and I highly recommend it to anyone! The food was GREAT! The atmosphere was GREAT! Thank you.
Very friendly waiter, but hung around way too long and unnecessarily read almost the entire menu to us and gave his recommendations. We were all adults and know how to read and figure out what we want to eat. Food took a LONG time to come out, and two of our friends were extremely unhappy with their meals (both on the specials menu and very highly recommended by our waiter: salmon and surf & turf.) Our super-talkative waiter never checked in when the food finally came out, or we would have told him that their meals were not good. I ordered mussels, and the waiter was trying to talk me into the prying open the mussels that did not open while cooking. If I didn't know better and did that, I would have been poisoned because shellfish that don't open up while being cooked were DEAD before cooking. Also, two other friends ordered gimlets that were awful. We ate here because we had about 10 years ago without incident, but would not go back or recommend again, despite the lovely views and ambiance. By the time the check finally came out we were totally ready to leave. Disappointing.
Food was good, but service was VERY slow.
