I loved the experience. Food was delicious. The chef cooked in front of us and crested a fun environment. Everyone enjoyed the dinner. Will come again.
The customer service here outside of our fabulous bartender/waiter name T. sucks. They do not enforce COVID-19 safety measures. They don’t know how to manage groups that are inappropriate and extremely loud and invade other peoples space. I will not be recommending nor returning. I only gave stars because of T. who is the bartender and our waiter.
The hostess, the table chef, the order taker, and the bus staff were all very helpful and friendly, making the whole evening a fun celebration. The only drawback was the noise level from nearby parties, which made conversation at our table difficult. I definitely recommend Hana Japan for any celebration.
It was good . Half a birthday dinner but feel like they could have been more into it loud and didn’t get the discount for a birthday because our 4 th guest didn’t show up

my server was wonderful . The Chef Ruben had a terrible attitude & seemed as if he did not want to be there . He messed up our order on top of the others who were sitting with us at the table . We ordered food to go we were really specific about what we wanted & still did not receive the correct food . It’s been a long time since I’ve had dinner here & I must say I am DISAPPOINTED with how things have changed . Only thing good is the social distancing for seating & hopefully you’ll get lucky if you do go here to get the server we had he was super energetic & understanding when it came down to us informing him on our experience . It’ll be a long time before I return to this place they have to do better & to think my tab came up to $397 and that’s including $55 gratuity for only two people like when did that become a thing with you all .

Note. I am a frequent visitor of this place! This evening was NOT so great because the chef's gas went out & we had to switch table. Half of the food got served, rice became cold. Bad experience.
Great food 🍲 and good service
The place needs an urgent refurbishment update. Great location overlooking the marina, but the tables and interior feels like I was dropped into the 1960s. Carpet old, furniture old, overall felt old and poor.
Its not hard to clean the place up and make it uber stunning. Teppanyaki chef was entertaining, but steak, chicken, shrimp only tasted ok because of the massive amount of garlic butter they put on each item.
Had to ask server for items 3 times before being accommodated, was not worth the 18% gratuity taxes on to bill.
It was okay not good but not bad either. Place needs some updating but also the food wasn't like Wow or the hope it had. I was hoping they still practice Socialist distancing inside but if you are Less than a party of 7 expect to be seated on a table with other customer. I did not expect that. They shouldve at least gave a heads up.
Interior is tired, and it was hot, especially with the grill on. Service was excellent. Food was typical, nothing unique by any means. All the apps we had were just deep fried. How our Chief cooked the meat perfectly.

We love, love, love coming to Hana Japan! We have celebrated 2 birthdays here in the last 3 weeks and the service is beyond awesome every time! Friendly, accommodating and helpful service, great bartender, super fun show and great food! Thank you for going above and beyond for us!

Chef was fun and entertaining! Food was delicious! I’m guessing they were short staffed because we had to get drinks from the bar ourselves before being seated, then after being seated, we weren’t once asked if we wanted another beverage.

We had a wonderful table with a view of the San Francisco Bay. There were no other groups in the hibachi area, just us. The service was efficient, prompt and courteous. Food was also great.
I wasn’t told we had to sit with a whole other family, I would’ve much rather sit with just mine. Took a while to receive our drinks and we waited for a chef for almost an hour. The food was amazing, I would just like to be told about more guests sitting before hand. We asked for more napkins and they never came. All in all service was okay but the food was great. Any special requests I asked though I never saw. But it was for Father’s Day and my father enjoyed himself. That’s all that mattered
The wait time to be seated was almost 30 minutes when I showed up early for my 5:00 reservation. Due to the Covid restrictions being lifted they sat everyone at the table too closely together. I felt that they should
at least keep one chair in between parties for separation. I even asked yo be placed in the tent outside and my food to be made in the back for convenience but they didn’t want to. My chef was annoyed with people who had allergies or alterations to their meals. I had to ask multiple times for utensils and he still made my food with egg when I reminded him multiple times I didn’t want any. He also made my rice after someone else’s that had shrimp in theirs when I told him I had a seafood allergy. It wasn’t a great experience in my opinion. All I asked was no egg and reminded him I had a seafood allergy. I told him I didn’t mind if someone in the back cooked my food but he insisted.
Everything was great the chef did a great job. The only thing the was an altercation so we had to leave. They gave someone ID to another person police were called. Other than the arguing it was cool.
Couldn't understand the server, cocktail service was slow. Chef had no energy or personality. Also over cooked steak and lobster and sequence of service was poor. Overall would not go back.

We weren't seated until 25 minutes past our reservation time. 40 minutes later the wrong chef came with another tables orders. 20 minutes after that our chef began cooking our order. My 8 year old was charged for an adult entree even though I specifically mentioned the kids menu. My sons girlfriend had to request her steamed rice after the meats were finished. They were just really off last night.
In overall it is good service and amenities good too

Love this place. Have been coming here for years, and I will continue to for years to come. Food is always good, so are the drinks. The tepanyaki show is always entertaining, especially for first timers and kids.
They took a lot of effort to accommodate our large party. They made it work and we had a great birthday dinner for my son.
