   The food was incredible. Hats off to the sushi chef. It was a girls night out and the staff and owner of the restaurant couldn't have been more pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!

   Great service, excellent drinks and food and a fun, upbeat, late-night bar atmosphere (even earlier in the evening.) Lots of younger people but also some families. We had a wonderful time there - everything was delicious. At some point, they brought us an un-asked-for bottle of complimentary sake, a lovely touch.

   Sushi rolls good. Cocktails OK. HEAVY ON BITTERS. Staff needs better direction for promotions. They use imitation crab in all sushi rolls. Probably won't be back

   We had 2 roles including the Lion King roll and also grilled garlic, ginger shrimp. All the food was exceptionally prepared the flavors bursting on your tongue. I would highly recommend it to anyone. The only down side was both our server and what I believe to be the manager kept stopping by asking if we wanted to order more. Ok, you don't want to be left having to try to track your server down, but we were really pestered. I would highly suggest to go for the food. Maybe consider sitting at the sushi bar.

   The food was OK, just. Things that we get as part of the same dinner at Hama in Pleasant Hill had to be ordered separately. The waitress, though very willing to please, did not know her offerings. While there is a small parking lot, it is insufficient to accomodate more than a very few cars; we parked with a meter on the street.Displeased in Walnut Creek

   Hamachi is perfectly fine. I was a bit taken aback by the chef's specials ranging from $50-$100 and the $25-$30 8-piece sashimi plates, but ultimately we were able to navigate the menu and find enough "values" for a decent meal that was only a bit more than we'd normally expect to pay for sushi. A few fillers off the happy hour menu didn't hurt. Service was friendly and they were very accommodating of our 2 year old daughter. We were there early, i get the sense that the lounge/party vibe cranks up a bit later- can't speak to that part of the equation, though the one-man-band synthesizer player was already going, leading to a somewhat odd live music selection. Overall no complaints, but also wouldn't rush back- I'd go to Sasa first.

   The food was really good and came out fast. The restaurant is clean and modern. The service was great, very attentive. Live music is cool, but the guy on the keyboards was WAY too loud! Impossible to carry on a conversation without constantly repeating yourself. If the volume was turned down by 33%, this place would be perfect.

   Ended up at Hamachi after a long day of wine tasting for a 30th bday party...sounds like a nightmare group, right?? Our waitress could not have been more accommodating and patient. I woke up the next morning thinking about all of our annoying requests (separate checks, multiple credit cards at check out), etc....and she just smiled and took care of everything. Wish I could say more about the food -- but I just don't recall. Like I said, wine tasting all day long.... Oh - did I mention we were like 45 minutes late for our reservation? We called to warn them, and they totally accommodated us. Not recommending you do that (because c'mon - not cool), but they knew they were getting annoying group of ladies and they were fantastic!

    If you are attending a show at the RCA, just head around the corner to this nice spot. Has its own parking, though most of us don't try to get that close. The food is great and they run happy hour specials late during the week. We loved the food, but the music was a bit loud and distracting. May be trying to attract more of a bar crowd than dining with the music.
