Hakkasan - San Francisco

Food was great! Beef ribeye was a standout. Ambiance is very chic, not too loud. Service at other tables seemed to be quite good with servers making pleasant conversation, checking up on the meal, etc. Our server may have just been having a bad day as other servers ended up picking up his slack as the meal progressed. Our assigned server was very condescending and did not check up once with hour our meal was going. I am not usually a complainer about food that is served, however we had a noodle dish where they eggs and oil were clearly burnt and the whole dish had that flavor. I asked for a replacement (which was delicious) and the guy might as well have been rolling his eyes at us. Anyway, after that the guy just sort of disappeared and other staff took over. If we had been assigned them in the beginning I would have given an extra star. Oh well, can’t win ‘em all.
There is no better, nor more expensive, dim sum in SF. Great place for a special occasion. Had a terrific lunch. Service was really good.
A bit noisy
If service was more timely would have ordered dessert
Really great food lovely restaurant great ambience . Quite cool in the restaurant but once I mentioned to our server that was rectified . A lovely night thank you very
My favorite Dim Sum establishment, the Dim Sum lunch is a lot of fun and a broader choice of dumplings. The Pipa Duck is one of my favorites on the menu as well. The design of the restaurant is a little too much like a nightclub for my taste but I am not overly concerned about the ambiance, the food is fantastic and serves the most divine dumplings I have had.
Food at Hakkasan is always good, that one you can count on. Service differ between locations, the Las Vegas one has very good service, the best of all the Hakkasan I have visited so far. Maybe I am picky, but servers at this location cannot be found at times, and both times I needed to call someone, I had to wait for two to three minutes before they are within sight.
Fantastic service and Food is delicious!!!
Briefly - I've been to several Hakkasan locations from Europe to America. As a vegetarian, when you mention to the waiter that you don't eat any part of an animal, and you order vegetarian fried rice, if you request to not have the egg added, that should be a no brainer. All locations kindly said yes, however, San Francisco waiter told me the chef said "No" he is not going to do that. I then called the manager, he apologized, and the chef made the rice without egg. My guest said he only ate fish, and asked if the crabmeat soup had any other animal, waiter said no. When it arrived, I told him that egg was in it, he mentioned it to the waiter, and the waiter apologized that it did in fact have egg. This continued to the point where we left and unfortunately will not be going back
Really great vibe, at at the bar, dining single- great craft cocktails and very informed bar staff. Pricey but a great experience
Great dim sum, classy environment, white table cloth presentation—never been offered the choice of a white or black cloth napkin before—that was new! (Soy sauce stains?)
Dim sum was fresh and tasty; so was the cod and the shrimp. Tables loves the bok choy and the pea pod leaves too!
Will happily repeat as I have in the past.
PS fixed course dim sum was $39/head.
Single glass of the Pinot Noir was $44 lol but superb
Great spot for special occasions. Love the ambiance and would come back to hang at the beautiful bar.
Very tasty food but portion size is small. Very attractive facility. Entres expensive. Waitstaff...average helpfulness.
This was our first time dining at Hakkasan and it was amazing. Everything we had on the chef's sampler was perfect, nothing I wouldn't highly recommend. Staff was awesome and on point, just like the meal and cocktails.
Excelent service and food, duck plates were delicious
Jamas vayas. Hakassan SF es una verguenza la actitud y pesimo servicio
This was our second time dinning at Hakkasan it’s a little on the pricey side but absolutely delicious 🤤
I find it quite chilly inside so next time I would bring a jacket.
Pan seared Shanghai dumplings were over cooked, sweet’n’sour pork tenderloin was in a thick sweet glue and the egg/scallion fried rice tasted stale and flavorless. The only saving grass were the crispy duck rolls. Based on that and the prices, it was a poor value!
Excellent service by Corey and staff. Great meal. Thank you!
From start to finish-exceptional. Great service, great food.
Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner with friends but instead caught some really cold vibes from our server who pretty much ruined the entire experience. Server was very rude and inattentive to our table. During the initial part of our experience, our server stated she will explain the dinner menu but suddenly left the table and didn’t return for a long time. Then upon returning she asked us if we were ready to order without explaining the menu to us. Our food came out quickly. After food was served our server, Bernadin, never checked on our table to see if everything was ok. I had to flag her down myself because I wanted to order a beverage. Once I ordered a beverage from her she didn’t acknowledge or say a word to me and just left.. so I wasn’t sure if she even got the order. Ultimately this place had delicious food and the food was served quickly. It was the server who pretty much made our dinner experience awkward and negative. Very unfortunate especially for a place of this price rate and caliber.
We were a group of 6 that were really looking forward to our meal. We booked for last service and ordered the tasting menu. This was served to us too quickly as they needed to close the kitchen. The waitress also rolled her eyes when she asked us if we would like another bottle of wine. She left before the end of our service. We were disappointed as we thought the pricing and reputation of the restaurant would ensure an enjoyable experience. We were mistaken.
Arrived early to have drinks at the bar. There were three young adults sitting next to us. They were boisterous, rude and unruly. it was obvious to the staff, whom did nothing about it. This is NOT a five star establishment. Don't waste your money or your time.
The service, food and ambiance was amazing. We were very happy with our server and she greatly help with our food choice. We will go again to this wonderful place.
Food was very salty. I ordered the chicken clay pot. Chicken was dry and very hard to chew. I left most of the food. It felt very unhealthy.
Drinks were fantastic. Food was incredibly mediocre and very, very overpriced. Won't return, won't recommend.
Delicious. Fun place. Great and knowledgeable staff.
My girlfriend and I were so excited to go to one really nice restaurant in San Francisco, but I wouldn’t go here again.
From the start, our waitress seemed much less interested in our table than anyone else’s. I work food service so I noticed pretty quickly. She literally grimaced when I ordered a coke instead of a cocktail. ..sorry my pancreas is broken..
I ordered the Tiger Prawn off the apps section. I received the wrong dish. I didn’t want to make a fuss and assumed I read wrong, so I didn’t say anything until the check came and it was in fact the wrong dish. I asked the waitress and she either lied to me or genuinely didn’t know the difference. That tiger prawn was all I wanted to try. Inexcusable service considering bill price.
The bill totaled 250 with only two apps and two cheaper entrees and two drinks. Tasted more like a 150 meal, tops.
Don’t waste your money here. Just go to a good American-Chinese restaurant instead and save 150 dollars.
I’ve eaten at high end Asian restaurants many times before. This was the crummiest service I’ve ever gotten for such a price.
Our sever was wonderful. Made great suggestions and was attentive without being overbearing.
Amazing food! The only thing that I wish was different was if the meat was cut into smaller pieces.
Delicious food in a very well structured, very interesting space. Service was incredible!
Came here for Father’s Day and this was a beautiful ambiance, great food and interesting cocktails. Would highly recommend!
All around good. Have eaten at a number of the Hakkasan places around the world.
Delicious, beautifully presented food, great service, quiet atmosphere, beautiful environment. I have only eaten lunch there. The food is pricey so a great place for a special lunch.
Last minute reservation after Warrior’s Final game in Oakland. Thought something light and tasty to erase the loss and terrible stadium food
Excellent dining experience with delicious food, superb service; friendly and attentive waiters.
They set aside a special table for us and were incredibly attentive. Between their wine and sake, craft cocktails and amazing duck, the evening was outstanding!
This place would be so much more enjoyable if they had just a bit more room between tables. Also, the service is professional, but a bit icy. Food pretty good.
Fantastic food and great experience. Definitely recommend!
