   I ordered sushi tonite, and though it was good, the fish was not the freshest. My companion ordered a combination bento of salmon, butterfish and tempura. He said the fish could have been grilled a little more so that the skin would get crispier. The miso sauce on the salmon was very light and it could have used more of it. All in all, the meal was satisfactory.

   I am a senior and am glad when I can get great early bird or senior discounts for meals. Gyotaku has an all day/every day special menu for seniors. All items are $9.95 and since seniors don't eat as much as when they were young, it is a terrific deal. I enjoyed a mini zaru-soba and nigiri sushi combo which was very decent in terms of taste. If you're going for great sushi, this restaurant may not be for you. You might want to choose a pricier, sushi specialty venue. But if you enjoy a homey atmosphere with Japanese teishoku meals at a reasonable price, this might be the place for you.

   Excellent menu selection and quality of food is good from appetizer (especially the natto-chos) to dessert (especially the sweet potato haupia pie). Service consistently good. Nice presentation of food. Quiet atmosphere. Reasonably priced. King Street location nicely renovated. For several years, a favorite restaurant for all occasions.

   We thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Gyotaku. We each ordered a sushi/tempura combination dinner and both were perfect. The service is excellent, with friendly waiters who maintain the perfect balance between friendliness and efficiency. We highly recommend this restaurant.

   We usually eat here every 1 to 2 months, usually for special occasions like birthdays, etc. Food is always good, fresh and nicely presented. Very friendly atmosphere, and very attentive.

   This restaurant provides good Japanese food at reasonable prices. Service is good overall, but I would have preferred if the server had asked if we wanted more tea to refill my cup.
