Shrimp Onion Tomato Skewer on A Bed of Rice
We LOVE Guillermos! It is clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and fun. The service is EXCELLENT! Fernanda always takes such good care of us! The FOOD is WONDERFUL!!!! You cannot go wrong dining at Guillermos. The tables have tablecloths and the dishes are custom made for the restaurant. Quality glasses. Beautifully prepared food and beverages. Wonderful friendly service. Whether you sit inside or outside under the Palapas you will enjoy your meal and experience at Guillermos. Please support these nice people during these unusual times!!!!
We had group of 10 people. Everyone raved about their meals! Carnitas dish and shrimp diabla both excellent!!
Once-in-a-year get-together with nephew!
We all loved our meals and service was the BEST!
Super friendly spot.
Plan to visit again and again!
Basically, it was a very nice experience. Coming across that the attempt was to be a higher end Mexican restaurant, which it was relatively. The food had great presentation but it lacked flavor in all that we have tried, which was very disappointing and a determining factor not to frequent this restaurant. Each to his own, as they say! The quality of the freshness of the food was certainly there. The ambiance was fab, the service was not as it should be for the quality they were working at portraying.
Not the best experience. Service and food very slow. From the time we sat down until our food came out took over an hour. We had to ask the server for chips and salsa. Food was very average. A little disappointed after all the good reviews but perhaps we hit them on an off night.
Waitress was excellent. Food and drinks were perfect
Very fresh and tasty ceviche! My husband really enjoyed the tamales.
Used to love but now just feels like a poor value and really overpriced
Usually love the food! Ordered something that was too spicy this time!!!
Excellent food and good service but crowded and noisy. Friday night might not be the best time to go. My wife is a Mexican food lover, and really likes the place; one of the best in the mid-valley.
Super spot for authentic Mexican!!!
Friends all on vacation
My wife and I had dinner at Guillermo's on a Friday evening. The staff were friendly and helpful, though a bit frantic as it was busy. We ordered special margaritas and they were OK, but not particularly noteworthy. Chips and salsa were delivered and the salsa was a light-green, super-mild soup more like a gazpacho than a salsa with little flavor. My wife ordered a chicken with poblano mole sauce that was tasty and well-prepared. I ordered filet mignon fajitas; the steak was tender and cooked perfectly, with lots of peppers and onions and sides of guacamole, sour cream, and refried beans. But the dish lacked flavor and was quite oily. Some Mexican spices and a tasty salsa would have been welcome. With all the great reviews, this should have been better. Our waiter though was wonderful, service attentive and friendly.
We go here quite often because the food and service are outstanding!
This was our second visit to the restaurant this week. We had an outstanding experience on March 1 and decided to return on March 5. On March 5th, the service was terrible: two out of our three orders were incorrect and had to be returned. We had to wait for the correct orders to be prepared. Our waitress was rude and unapologetic. The guacamole, which was delicious on our first visit, was tasteless the second time. What was once our favorite restaurant is no longer one to which we will return......so disappointing!
We go to Guillermo’s every year at least once while on vacation in Palm Desert, but have noticed a gradual decline in value for money.
The service i remains good, Guillermo is a friendly and gracious host, but the food quality is average at best, portions are small, andthe margaritas are expensive and taste watered down.
Will not return.
The food was not typical mexican restaurant fare - both the chilies stuffed with shrimp and the sauteed octopus were outstanding with the sauce giving both a smokey flavor. Great casual spot.
We always look forward to our meals at Guillermo's. Everything about this authentic Mexican restaurant is topnotch. It is a wonderfully managed family restaurant and everyone there is friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Guillermo's if you live in the desert or are here for a visit.
The menu has some dishes that go beyond your typical Mexican fare that are delicious.
Took our guests for drinks and dinner. Excellent cocktails and food. Lots of options on menu. Really enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Good energy and our waiter was great!
Food and service very consistent and high value.
Staff very welcoming and friendly and appreciate our business
Guillermo is such a nice man
Very loud. In and out very n under an hour...not so fine dinning
Birthday celebration for special partner. Food was fast and terrific with reservation. Very busy even on midweek early evening. Walk-in waits Sox 45 minutes. Server was tops
Pretty good for margarita. Home made chips good but their dip tasted like minestrone soup. Asked for salsa and charges $2.50. Though dinner was bland diablo sauce was not good, tasted like canned. Will not return.
Great service and food
Took out of town friends to Guillermo’s and it was a major hit. Highly recommend the Mexican Sea Bass with their special Diablo Sauce.
Made reservations for 6pm. Arrived on time and were seated right away. We ate there once before without a reservation and were seated in the bar. Not very nice. So we learned to make a reservation this time. There are two rooms, one that is very quite. We were very happy to be seated there. We are Vegan and not many Mexican restaurants serve Vegan options, but Guillermo's does. The waiter was familiar with Vegan needs and was able to answer our questions about weather the menu item was ok. I had potato enchilada and my wife had fajitas. The food was excellent, our water glasses were kept full, and the waiter checked back a couple of times to make sure we were happy. It was a very pleasent experience and we will definitely be back.
Great food and atmosphere!
This is the epitome of an upscale Mexican restaurant. Real good food at moderate prices.
Very noisy place. The table that we were out was very close to the next table that I could understand their whispering.
I saw only 1 restroom stall for this large restaurant.
The food was varied not just traditional tacos. I had the octopus which was excellent. My companion had the carnitas and is still raving about it.
The margaritas are priced on the high side but were very tasty
Upon reading reviews on Yelp, I booked a table for myself and my two children. Looking for authentic Mexican food, but got what I consider to be white-washed Mexican food. Refried beans seemed like they might be out of the can. Rice with corn, carrots and peas in it just isn’t authentic Mexican rice to me. Kids meals lacked a taco option, which was disappointing, but they accommodated our request. Tortilla soup was too spicy for my child, and they never mentioned on the menu or in person that it was spicy. They comped it, which was appreciated. No a la carte menu for tacos or other Mexican items you would normally find at Mexican restaurants. There were only dinner platters that started at $18. The portions were large, but lacked flavor. The staff was friendly and accommodating, but it took 40 minutes to get our food which is a long time to wait especially with children. Guillermo came around and introduced himself which was a nice touch. But my hope was to enjoy a nice authentic Mexican meal. I felt it was inauthentic and lacked options most diners might want which is the choice to go a la carte. I wouldn’t recommend this spot to someone who knows and desires real Mexican food.
Love, love the warm salsa!! And the Boss margarita’s are the best!! Never disappoints
Fantastic as always!!!
Always friendly service at reasonable prices. This family owned restaurant is a neighborhood favorite.
Love this place. Best margaritas in the desert! And the happy hour has great food as well...get the peppers stuffed with shrimp! Combo fajitas at dinner!
Fun date great food and margaritas
Always great service and food. Margaritas are terrific too. I like Guillermo’s Margarita. You should definitely make a reservation.
It was OK for 2 of us but the other two did not eat their dinner. Guacamole, Salsa and chips were good but fajitas not so good this time. Drinks were very good.
