Food is very good but wine list is extremely limited.
Went to the Grill before a show. The waitress did a great job getting us in/out in time for the performance. Food was very good, ambiance was great...will definitely visit again.
As always, the food was really good. It was a little noisy, and service was a little slow, but it was busy. Food was well worth it, although a little on the expensive side.
Restaurant was cold server was friendly. Brussel sprouts were great, hamburger was not very tasty. Very limited menu. It was ok
Grille on Main was great. We were in town to see a show at the Odeum and had dinner. We enjoyed the food and the prices were reasonable. Would definitely come again.
We always enjoy our dining experience at The Grille on Main!
My wife and I enjoy going there. The staff is nice and the menu has something for everyone. The quality of the food is good and the prices are reasonable.
There is nothing exciting or fancy about Grille on Main. The menu can generally be categorized as “American comfort food.” The portions are large and, as one would expect, not overly concerned with being healthy. The only thing that stands out is that it is all prepared very well. It’s all quite tasty, flavorful, gooey and juicy. The service is competent and kind — certainly not fussy, but also not without mistakes and innocent confusion. The ambience is not exactly romantic, but it is warm, friendly and comfortable.
Great food and service! Drink Specials were awesome... always a ton of Gluten Free Options (the fried calamari is to die for- My husband who is NOT gluten free even prefers this one over the original).
Many different choices on the menu. Something for everyone. Went for my mother-in-laws Birthday. It was her first time there and she loved it.
The steak was really tasted and cooked exactly how I ordered it. Being able to add scallops to the order made it even better. The risotto was great!
This was my first visit. I went on a Saturday night and the place was empty. We were seated promptly but weren’t approached by a server for Almost 10 minutes. A couple seated after us received service first. People at the bar were watching football and screaming which was disruptive even at our table on the other side of the restaurant. I ordered the nachos as an appetizer which was delicious and the short rib tacos for dinner (which was like a pot roast dinner in a tortilla shell. It was pricey given the bare bones of what it was. When discussing side options with the server i specifically asked about the “rice” side trying to make sure it wasn’t the ball of sticky white rice to which she assured me it was not and described it as well seasoned rice with butter. It was indeed the sticky white rice. All in all not disastrous but disappointing. What sealed the deal for me was once the check was presented we sat for some time with the card in the check without any attention while other tables were cashed out and left. Sending all the social cues without being rude it was admitted we had been forgotten. The food i could work with bit the service ruined it. The lack of knowledge about the food being served and the value for that food ensures i wont be back.
My first time here and the food was delicious! The Mac and cheese was yummy! We will definitely be back.
Nice casual dining. We went for a very late lunch. I would have preferred something other than a salad or sandwich, so I would not need dinner . The only entree was fish and chips, not my favorite. Three out of four were pleased with their dishes.
Have changed their menu so many times recently. Was a great place, but lately so much inconsistency with the food quality.
Was impressed. Drove an hour will be there again. Great waitress. Good awesome.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner before going to a show at the Odeum (directly across the street) last Saturday. Kim, the manager, greeted us at the door. She was friendly, professional and visited our table to make sure we were enjoying everything. Our waitress was attentive and very accommodating. The Brussel sprout appetizer, salmon salad, gnocchi special with seared scallops and chocolate cookie dessert were absolutely delicious! We'll definitely be back!
Everything was delicious! We really enjoyed the atmosphere and our waiter was a nice guy!
Great service, great drinks, exceptional food!
Mario, the bartender, was great. He made the overall experience and is the reason I would return.
Too noisy to think, nevermind eat. Limited menu. Left without ordering.
Food was delicious and out waitress was patient and friendly, giving us all the time in the world as we caught up
I chose this restaurant because of its proximity to the Greenwich Odeum so I could meet a friend for a bite to eat before an event. This place was perfectly situated and the food was wonderful. The seafood stew that I ordered was excellent and the fig & prosciutto pizza we shared really hit the spot!
I t was a great meal, a wonderful server. I can't say the same for the hostess, I told her we had
reservations and had one of the hostess tried to put us at this small table in the bar area I told her the noise level was much to loud for us. We went back to the hostess station and asked
seeing we are seniors to be seated else ware , she said that they were reserved, I told we have
reservation for that time and I managed to get a better table. Maybe she just don't like old people
This is a go-to restaurant for my husband and myself, especially since adopting a gluten-free, dairy free diet. We can always find something to eat and we especially appreciate the gluten-free calamari appetizer :)
Excellent dinner. Great atmosphere. Casual and fun
Grille on Main exceeded expectations. We reserved a table prior to theatre. And, we mistakenly cancelled reservation. Once I realized I immediately called back and my reservation was honored. Setting, service, meals, and bar area were all good. We returned after theatre for an appertif. If in East Greenwich do not hesitate to try Grille on Main.
A favorite spot that both my wife and I love! I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there, the staff is friendly and attentive, and there is an excellent selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. Highly recommend!
So happy I have a go to Gluten Free spot!! Great food. Just less salt in the GF soup please!!
I had the braised short ribs which were absolutely fantastic...I love that dish, and the waiter said it was his favorite...I can't wait to come back and order it again...Just fabulous!
The food was just average. Meat was a bit overcooked. Scallops didn't have much flavor. Service was good.
Food was good appetizer was brought out with dinner. Service was marginal
Great food and drink selection. I gave the food category a 4 star rather than 5 star rating only because I find that the selection is not as conducive to people who do not eat beef or pork. My husband, however, had steak tips and said they were the best he ever had.
We dined during restaurant week so we ordered from the special menu. We were not disappointed with our choices-- sirloin tips and pork shank, but the wilted spinach salad was the biggest winner! We never felt rushed thru our meal and this was on a Saturday night! A great place to be catching up with friends.
We've been going here for many years. Recently it has really been going downhill. Service has become painfully slow and disorganized. Tonight was so disappointing that I'm pretty sure this is the last time we will be going to Grille on Main.
First of all, our entrees- Steak Tips Diane was delicious !
But we waited over an hour for our meal. We had cod cakes as an appetizer but they were frozen. Either they made them and froze them or not, but you could tell they were frozen.
For some reason the kitchen was way backed up. People were complaining and leaving.
We complained to the hostess and she apologized, she did end up taking our drinks off the bill.
Our waitress handled it pretty good.
We would give it another try because it's been around for awhile and the food was good.
Either they were short in the kitchen or just really backed up.
After being seated we placed a drink & app order & waited 40 (yes 40) minutes to receive just the drinks. Then another 35 minutes before we received the apps. We were then called away for an emergency. Overall, we were there over an hour when the appetizers came, then had to ask them to put them in takeout containers (another 15 mins) before leaving. I've been going to this establishment for 40 years & it was never this bad - most likely will not return.
The menu this restaurant published on the Providence Restaurant Week's site looked appealing and so we decided to try their 3 course "2 for 1" option. When they handed us their menu, it showed they allowed a choice of 2 entrees, but only one appetizer and one dessert. Had this been showed on the website, we wouldn't have chosen to dine there. We feel they use false advertisement to get people in. To make matters worse, we ordered their potato skins and were brought only 3 of them, which meant we had to divide one among ourselves. When my husband ordered wine, not only was he not offered to taste it but the cork was plugged back in the bottle. Needless to say, we were pretty disappointed and we won't be back.
We had another good experience at Grille on Main. Everything we ordered was very good. I highly recommend the Peach Margarita for 2!
One of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time! Made for the perfect date.
