Made reservations but when arrived there was a party and reservations were not honored. Was sent to another restaurant that also did not have any tables. Not happy and will not return.

Wow so neighborhood gem? Great fresh shellfish for an amazing price given average costs of seafood towers in NYC. Somewhat limited brunch menu but food was amazingly good. My friend thorough enjoyed the cheese grits and her overflowing lobster roll. Drinks were effective, light and refreshing (probably could have gone for a second round but then we would have never made it to our final destination, sadly). Service was excellent considering that we were surrounded by families w children. Definitely recommend and will be back!!

I have been here before but not sure I will come back again. The bartender had no clue what was going on. My friend ordered a beer and pointed to it on the menu and the bartender came back with a mixed drink. Then he made a stink about it as if my friend had ordered it when its hard to confuse a fruity drink for a dark lager. Then the keg kicked when he was serving my friend his second beer and it splattered all over my friend and he just laughed. Then my friend tried ordering a third beer which came out luke warm and he couldn't even finish it. We had to ask for everything. Plates for oysters and then silverware when the food came out. Then when we wanted to get our check the bartender was no where to be found and only one bartender was manning the bar and it had gotten crowded so it took forever to get out of there. I love the food here but the service was so horrible I don't think I can come back here.

Service sorely missing: had to flag down a waiter to get new drinks; table was left uncleared for more than 20 mins on a Sat night when they only had 3 other tables seated; missing cutlery; needed to ask for a new dish for mussel shells; no finger bowl. Cocktails are mediocre and when we complained, we just got a 'sorry'. Fish was mealy and grey. We got fewer oysters than we paid for. Overall, staff spend their time gathered at the bar, chatting, are there to have a better time than their paying customers. Suggest some actual "rigorous training" is needed, to satisfy claims on their website. A shame that they can't get service organized, as some food items i.e globe artichokes and PEI mussels, was delicious!

It's a cute place with decent food but because they have outdoor seating and they are constantly opening the door to the outside, whatever temperature it is outside is what the temperature is inside - we were sweating! It's also oddly dark. We went for dinner on a Thursday evening and the lights were basically off the whole time. With the large windows allowing light in from the street, half the table was in complete darkness and half the table was lit by the streetlamp, it was pretty weird. Also, they started playing DJ music around 9pm which was a little much.

Disappointing dining experience. The service took FOREVER. The recommended dishes were over seasoned and lukewarm. Dinner came at the same time at the cocktail! I almost left. Plus, I received an email saying the restaurant canceled my reservation after I'd already checked in, sat down and ordered. When I let the server know, he said "does it matter?". YES! It does. I won't get points but the restaurant gets the benefit of a new customer who never would have known the restaurant existed. He said later that they fixed it. But it was an odd thing to have happen. There are so many dining options in this area. Choose another one.

Best service. Super fresh seafood. The bacon wrapped scallops are phenomenal. Loved the fried basket. Crab cakes so yummy. The hostess and our waiter were so courteous, kind and professional. They brought our birthday girl and group complimentary prosecco shots. The Dj was great and the decor is so cute. Will definitely return again. A must visit if you’re craving seafood and an awesome vibe.

A very touristy bar. Probably nicer in the dark and not during the day Cant go wrong with the HH $1 oysters but quite loud with the music inside and traffic is too noisy outside - so even the outside tables arent that great. There are other nice places in the area like Sel Rrose. Nothing exemplary with the service

We love this place! Feels very Nantucket, which is what it’s going for. Arrive on the early side ( before noon) and it’s empty/relaxed. Menu changed since last time we were there, and we miss their ahi tuna burger, (current menu is a bit “fried” heavy) but, food uniformly tasty, fried oysters delicious, and atmosphere really lovely.

Not sure what the issue was but we got our oysters and crab cakes and then had to wait for almost 45 min for salmon toast. I think she forgot to put the order in. We asked a few times about it and finally it came out. They gave us one beer for the inconvinience. Like I said not sure what happened but a little honesty goes a long way .

The restaurant was empty when we got there at 8:00 pm so I should have known then. The waitress forgot one of our meals. Two of the meals were so bad we had to send them back. Grey Lady has a nice bar and my cocktail was fine. I’ll certainly never eat there again.

hey publish on their website it's happy hour drinks and all you can eat $1 oyster happy hour from 6pm -close every Monday and also on their menu in the restaurant it says this, however when you try and order either of these items they tell you "it's been a last minute kitchen change and it's only till 7pm" we argued with the and told them we can all the from queens and they said they would adhere to the posted price, but after only 3 rounds they told us they could no longer offer the oyster deal and the drinks were full price the entire night. Do NOT recommend!!!!

Noisiest restaurant I have ever experienced. My date and I had to speak very loudly across the table and still couldn't hear each other at times. Even our server complained that she couldn't hear her orders. They were out of two of their signature dishes even though it was only 8:45. Our second choice, the tuna burger, was okay but the fries were barely warm so we sent them back. My seafood stew was so salty I couldn't finish it. The accompanying toast was burned. So badly it was bitter. I would have sent it back but it was so deafeningly loud, that we decided to cut our losses and just get outta Dodge. The raw oysters were good, but that was the only high point. Altogether a really disappointing effort from a restaurant with such hype.

Although there was no issue making the reservation, (a) it seemed like there was a private party with a "list" (and the doorman didn't have my name for the regular dinner rsvp), and (b) it was basically a club at that hour because they cleared away the tables to make more dancing room (and were pressuring me within 15min of arriving to "hurry up" so they could do the same to my table. This is all fine, but they shouldn't be listed as having dinner rsvp's open if this is happening.

While the food was quite good, the atmosphere was not nearly as cool as I thought it would be. The photos I saw online gave the impression it was more upscale. In reality it was dingy and a bit run down. The roped off smoking area beside the front door was not impressive. It is more bar and less restaurant. By the time we finished our dinner around 10:30 they had moved the tables around us to make room for the bar crowd. I had the lobster roll, which was very good but I wouldn't return. Too many other great options in the city.
