Excellent waitress! Great food!
Love this place! Food is great! Service is better! The best place to go on Fashion Island!
Great food and love the location.
A good place with great staff.
The food was delicious and generous, and we received excellent service. However, the noise level was deafening. My lunch partner and I continually asked each other to repeat what was said. We returned later in the afternoon for beignets. The noise level was tolerable and the beignets were divine. Will return for those!
Food was amazing!
Waitress though pleasant was too busy trying to handle other tables...unnecessary waiting and mistake on part of order. Manager corrected after the fact...though have dined many times there over the years... will not be on our short list again
Worst experience! Got to our table without a wait, but once we got there it took over 15min for a server to come to our table. After getting her attention we ordered right away. Drinks came 15 min after that and another 35 for our food to come which came out all at different times about 10min for each entree. I really would have liked to walk out. I will never go back . The restaurant should know when peak lunchtimes are and staff accordingly.
The food was ok and would have been great if the staff was attentive
Birthday lunch. Food was great. Service was slow. They were very busy... seemed like every table was filled!
I took my friend to Great Maple on a Thursday for a birthday lunch. The food was tasty, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, it was very noisy, plus the air conditioning wasn't working well so it was not comfortable inside. Usually a restaurant offers a free birthday dessert, but my friend chose the peach cobbler which was not comp'd. Next time we'll go somewhere else.
The great maple is always a great choice!! Food is fantastic
Food was wonderful. The servers were good but not as attentive or quick as they should have been.
Excellent food at a great value. I highly recommend the french toast.
Probably the best restaurant on Fashion Island. It’s a hidden GEM. Staff is amazing and accommodating. It’s like every time I go the service gets better and better. Kudos management!
Lots of good healthy options like the roasted hummus which is SO delicious and served with fresh veggies as well as warm pita triangles. Also a good variety of salad options that you can choose to add a protein into. Haven't had their pizza in a while but I remember them being really great. I like the window seats inside or the patio for ambience and people watching. They can be very accommodating for large groups also.
Great waiter, good food, fun people watching outdoors
Really great but one persons dish took 30 minutes to serve. It must have been lost somehow bc the waitress was visibly on top of the kitchen team to make the replacement.
Great place but the next time I go there I will sit outside. It was a bit noisy inside but we still had a great meal and time.
Loved every moment of it
Overall fantastic experience
Fun Sunday brunch. Wonderfully strange options (maple glazed donuts with fried chicken?). Great service with managers checking in regularly to ensure satisfaction. A bit disappointed that brunch mimosas are charged by the glass ($9.75+) rather than never-ending, but other than that, prices seemed reasonable.
I recently visited Great Maple at Fashion Island for brunch with my friends for my birthday. I'd been to their San Diego location before, and love it, so was extremely excited. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were amazing! We were a group of 7, and felt that the service was lacking just a bit. They seemed overworked and like they had too many tables, but it was frustrating when things just seemed to move slower than they should have.
Other than that, it was a great experience and I definitely will be back.
Thank you to all who made our evening so fabulous. I cannot think of any part of our experience that was not phenomenal. A party in our wine glasses , our plates, a playful menu that offers something for everybody... etc...
We were looking for a new restaurant for date night but didn't want to go too fancy. This was a great in between. Casual dining with upscale menu and drinks. Great service, a unique ambiance and décor made for a great date night!
We shared the broccolini to start and is was good but nothing special. I had the bBrick chicken with cauliflower hash; it was so flavorful and the mustard ju added such a nice flavor (and ju isn't normally my thing). My husband had the rib eye with bacon mac ad cheese and said it was a solid two thumbs up.
Outstanding service and food. Really enjoyed our lunch!
The food was very good!
I was already a fan of Great Maple's menu and was looking forward to a great lunch... our family happened to be there on Father's Day and learned that the regular menu wasn't available at all. Rather, they offered an all day Father's Day brunch menu. Needless to say, we were kind of disappointed and even more so when we were told that we couldn't order anything from the regular menu at all. We ordered a kid's breakfast for our toddler and a chicken Caesar salad for my husband and a Cobb salad for myself. The salads were also a disappointment. My husband didn't enjoy other greens in his salad, like kale and some others (aside from the Romaine lettuce). I didn't like that the Cobb salad had two huge halves of a Romaine lettuce head, with all the other ingredients sprinkled over it. I don't normally care to knife and fork my salad. But it tasted okay. The service was great - our server was very attentive and apologetic that the regular menu wasn't available. Ambiance was fine; albeit very loud, as we were seated outside (I wish they would ask for seating preferences as I generally dislike dining on their patio due to the tables being extremely close to one another and people bringing their dogs).
We've ate here several times for brunch, good food and usually timely friendly service. Today's experience was a bit disappointing. They were busy given Father's Day and the kitchen and bar service were slow. Hostess then had the courage to tell us we were approaching our time limit at the table. (We had been there 1.75 hours). Can't say I really disagree with the amount of time at the table, but haven ate there quite a few times before I'd suggest they speak with their staff 1st about timely service before they chase customers out the door. Music was way to loud on the patio today.
We had brunch on Sunday for Father's Day. While I enjoyed my experience the food was only okay, nothing truly notable that we ordered. The service was good, other than my husbands breakfast came out late and the rest of the table had already started. On the flip side, they offered to pick up our desert so we left satisfied and happy.
We went for a family meal - loved the food - we have been to La Jolla location as well as this one in Newport Beach, both are extremely loud, service is just okay, not a cozy dining experience.
We sat in their patio area, it was very nice. I had their vegetarian burger and my hubby had their turkey burger. Both with side salads and everything delicious. Our waiter was awesome. One complaint. There was a table who brought their dog and had the leash long enough so the dog could reach the table next to it. We watched as 3 parties requested another table. There was another table with a young labradoodle who obviously wasn't trained either. Dog owners please be more considerate. If your dog cannot lay down at your feet the entire time maybe you should have it trained before taking them out to nice restaurants.
Everything was really good, but I mentioned on my reservation that it was a birthday. While at the restaurant, no one acknowledged about the birthday. 😕
Awesome food. Sit out in the patio as it is easier to hear. Plus entertainment by the fountain.
We had a nice family lunch.
The food was good. The service was a little slow but we weren't in a hurry.
Had the chicken and doughnuts. Probably could have done with one less doughnut and maybe some fresh veggies or even French fries instead. Then it would be chicken and doughnut though. Waiter was super friendly and quick on refills even though every table was full. Food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Pricing was pretty good, especially considering the location, creative and fresh options and some of the prices you can see at other restaurants in the complex. I would definitely go back when I'm in the area again.
Great service! Waiter was very fun and gave great recommendations. The dessert took a while so the manager came to our table and apologized and took it off our bill. Very impressive!
Great location in Fashion Island next to Nordstrom. The food was hearty but authentic and fairly healthy. Portions were plentiful. Service was great. Nice spot.
Very tasty food, kinda an indoor/outdoor place. Either options are available. Great menu choices plus a daily soup. That was limited to the day we were there, only lentil. But the dinner was very good.
The best restaurant in Fashion Island that allows dogs on the patio.
I highly recommend Great Maple. Creative menu with delicious food and beautiful presentation.
