Another wonderful brunch at The Great Maple. Maple Bacon Donuts are a must! Friendly staff and good service.
Great for large party!
Thank goodness we made a reservation because it was packed for brunch on a Sunday!
The food was good. Veggie omelette was ok not spectacular. Their maple bacon donuts are insanely good! Atmosphere is great and sitting on their patio is lovely. Service was good too.
I was really pleasantly surprised, because this great restaurant is located in a beautiful outdoor shopping mall. My Chicken Wedge salad was really amazing and my maple donut? To die for.
I will definitely be going back.
Excellent as always, Highly recommend this restaurant, specially for Sunday Brunch.
In the past we have had generally very good experiences with Great Maple Newport Beach, but our September 8, 2018 dinner was substandard. They tried to serve us a cold hamburger and fries. When we sent them back, they tried to bill us twice for the hamburger! The server was clearly poorly trained and the manager (I believe he was the manager) had no customer service skills. This is the second time in my life I did not tip the server (my normal tip is 20% to 40%). This overall dining experience was a major disappointment!
we enjoyed the great food but most of all the people watching and their dogs. their BLT is verrrry good.
Had a wonderful dinner on Labor day. Late night but great service, wonderful food and easy dinner.
Used to serve great salads & sandwiches. Food looked like it had been standing out for a while &
just reheated. Disappointed!
Nice, we have been here many times. It appeared that Great Maple was understaffed for the lunch time rush.
Good neighborhood spot... easily forgotten but well worth it.
It was a scorching hot day. There were no fans to cool down the customers. It must have been 90 degrees in there. There were so many tables shoved in there, the waiters couldn’t move. The noise was loud to the point we were shouting at each other. We won’t return.
Great food. Nice dining area.
2nd time visit. Food is tasty and well presented. Servers are professionals. Will return for a 3rd visit.
It was a family gathering, so most had not been here previously. The Maple Bacon Donuts were an hit with everyone that ordered them. Service was ok, attentive at first and then vanished, but nothing horrible, just water glasses needing to be filled on an hot day. We will be return.
For large groups this is not the place to eat. The food took a very long time to prepare.
First hostess was easily frustrated when I asked for a high chair for my daughter. Second hostess literally walked by and coughed on me. The server took 18 minutes to even hello. Non-alcoholic drinks didn’t get to the table until 32 minutes after we sat down. Refills happened 10 minutes after asked.
Veggie burger was good. Never got any ketchup, which was ordered and then asked for a second time.
Food was fabulous. Very fresh chicken moist and the avocado toast perfect the way I like it. The maple doughnut to die for. We will definitely come back.
Great food and service as usual. It's our go to place when we're shopping at Fashion Island. Happen to be there during Happy hour. We shared their deviled eggs - tasty, & I had the cheese sandwich with raspberry sauce - yummy and it included a tiny salad. Hubby had their turkey burger along with a salad for side - delicious. The only thing that spoiled the experience was the table next to us had an untrained dog on a long leash who kept looking for stuff to eat off the floor, even walking up to tables. I had to ask owner to keep their dog away from our table. Please dog owners with dogs who aren't trained to lay down by your feet, be more considerate of other people around you when you take them to nice restaurants.
We had the worst service ever. Our server forgot our drinks 3 times, never checked in on us. There was no AC either so I strongly warn against going there on a warm night, very stuffy inside. It’s sad when the hostess has to do the servers job because she forgot about you
This is our second visit for dinner at Great Maple and it was just as fabulous the second time as it was the first. Brandon was our waiter, by chance a second time and he was excellent! Brandon was very attentive and constantly checked in on us throughout the meal. We had a few special requests and all were met perfectly. We will be regulars for this restaurant that serves great food, provides wonderful service and great management!
The food was okay. A little expensive for the quality. The kids grilled cheese was a good portion. One kid loved it and the other didn’t. We also ordered the signature prime rib dip and it was just okay. And the other order we did was the steakburger which we ordered medium well. But it came out medium rare. We also ordered Ceaser’s salad with light dressing and it came instead with heavy dressing.
The orange juice was tasty though fresh and sweet. We also ordered the beignets which were too heavy and doughy. And as soon as it cooled turned rock hard. Not sure if we came on a off day. And it was very warm for a Restuarant.
Overall it was just okay. And for the price I think R&D around the corner is better for price in the same shopping center. (And R&D has an amazing prime rib dip there) I think we will give it a go one more time as the people working there were good and the Restuarant was fine. Visually nicer than average. We will try again maybe for Sunday brunch and see if the experience is better. I would recommend to go if you want to try somewhere new. But we didn’t find a meal that we HAVE to go back for.
We came here for a new hire lunch. I made reservations for 8 through OpenTable. We were seated within moments of walking in. We walked in and the place was hotter than outside, but eventually we became accustomed to it over time. The service was average over all, but towards the end our service was no where to be found. The lunch trip was great and cooked perfectly, in my opinion. I loved the Ginger Beer.
Food was good - kind of hipster menu (gourmet avocado toasts, bacon mac n cheese), but still good. Service was terrible. We had to keep asking for our waitress, asked to have plates cleared, food was brought out at several minutes apart after we asked. No apology or sense that this was poor service. And the restaurant was not even 1/3 full. Brought bill without asking if we wanted anything more or dessert. This place could be good if they can get their act together.
Made reservation and when I got there I went inside and it was seriously scorching hot. I asked to sit outside and they said I couldn’t because they just sat two large parties out there. I said well can u have the manager turn on the air and the hostess said
It is on. I said it can’t be it’s way too hot. People in the restaurant were wiping there foreheads. So she sat us by the kitchen where it was even hotter. Someone walking to the bathroom said it is way to hot in here. We got up and left and told the hostess it was unbearable. Lost my business. Need to get their air conditioner fixed. I feel sorry for the employees. Would not want to work under those conditions. Went to another restaurant and got right in with no waiting and their air conditioning felt great.
Come here every summer best maple bacon donuts on the planet!
I have been here on a weekend and loved the food. When we went during the week, it was just okay for the price.
The food and the service could not have been better! I dine there frequently and have never been disappointed, but this was my best experience yet. I love their varied menu choices and the staff is always so friendly.
Excellent waitress! Great food!
Love this place! Food is great! Service is better! The best place to go on Fashion Island!
Great food and love the location.
A good place with great staff.
The food was delicious and generous, and we received excellent service. However, the noise level was deafening. My lunch partner and I continually asked each other to repeat what was said. We returned later in the afternoon for beignets. The noise level was tolerable and the beignets were divine. Will return for those!
Food was amazing!
Waitress though pleasant was too busy trying to handle other tables...unnecessary waiting and mistake on part of order. Manager corrected after the fact...though have dined many times there over the years... will not be on our short list again
Worst experience! Got to our table without a wait, but once we got there it took over 15min for a server to come to our table. After getting her attention we ordered right away. Drinks came 15 min after that and another 35 for our food to come which came out all at different times about 10min for each entree. I really would have liked to walk out. I will never go back . The restaurant should know when peak lunchtimes are and staff accordingly.
The food was ok and would have been great if the staff was attentive
Birthday lunch. Food was great. Service was slow. They were very busy... seemed like every table was filled!
I took my friend to Great Maple on a Thursday for a birthday lunch. The food was tasty, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, it was very noisy, plus the air conditioning wasn't working well so it was not comfortable inside. Usually a restaurant offers a free birthday dessert, but my friend chose the peach cobbler which was not comp'd. Next time we'll go somewhere else.
The great maple is always a great choice!! Food is fantastic
