Service was very slow which considering the restaurant was nearly empty was odd.
Food was poor. No flavor. Did not taste fresh. Will not return.
This is the second time in less than a month we have had brunch at Grayze. First time they were out of a few menu items, second out of eggs!? Wow!!
We ordered drinks and were told that they were out of 5 of their 6 cocktails on the menu. Then they were out of several of the beers on their list. The appetizers were lukewarm. My husband ordered the grilled cheese. It wasn’t even cooked long enough to melt the cheese. I ordered a 2nd drink that never arrived. Overall with so many great choices close by, this was a major disappointment!
They were out of many things. Raw fried food. Not a good value
Terrific brunch menu with interesting drink pairings. Happy to have found a new go-to spot for Sunday brunch. Good service, too!
Service and food were extremely slow. Ten minutes to get a cup of coffee. Another 5 minutes to get the cream, sugar and a spoon. 50 minutes from when we ordered to receiving the food. The food was OK but not worth the wait or the price. Their system is broken; very haphazard. We gave a nice tip to our waiter b/c it wasn't his fault and we are never coming back. A real shame b/c the area needs good businesses to come in and clean it up. Don't know how they have good reviews. Maybe heavy pours for the college students' drinks.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. Every dish I have had has been incredible. I’ve been 5-6 times I always come when I’m in town for work. From their Won Tom nachos(rip) , to the cubano, duck confit gnocchi, I think they had a hot Cheetos crusted snapper their food is always awesome.
Wonderful brunch! Online Hours are a bit confusing but they do have a Saturday brunch that was wonderful from 10-3 pm!
The food was exquisite and the service was superb! DJ was an excellent waiter that was very attentive and checked in with us frequently (which I appreciate)
Food was great. The waiter was nice but did not really listen. He blew off 3 things I asked for. Everything else was good. For the price point I feel seasoned servers should be present. Pics are of the delicious food.
Food was OK. Meatball app was visually lackluster and needed a picketed vegetable. Great service. The interior had very harsh lighting and didn’t match the price point.
Poor service by our waiter. Other tables seemed to be getting great service. Will not go back.
Meh. I wasn't that excited by the food.
The tables and chairs on the back patio were filthy.
Brunch on Sunday was delicious. Great option for the family. Service was terrible. I'm not sure if they were short-staffed, but it seemed like it. Unfortunately, our server may also have been new because he didn't have answers to any of our questions and our food order wasn't put in properly. It took more than 15 minutes to get anything we asked for (cup of OJ, forks, the tab).
Food was really salty and waiter could not make any recommendations or wine suggestions
Service was incredibly slow even when we were some of the only people there for 10:30am brunch. We didn't order food for at least an hour and it took almost another hour for our food to arrive. We rarely saw a server during this time. Food was pretty good, although one person's breakfast burger was charred pretty badly and cooked well done on the inside which is not what I'd expect from a place like this. Also, they were out of two menu items that we tried to order. Not the worst experience but not really worth going again.
Delicious and amazing food. Can’t say enough about how good the food was.
We went during restaurant week. Unfortunately, it was also the evening Celine Dion was performing so the restaurant was very crowded and incredibly loud. Additionally, it was very cold inside. Lots of people had their coats on. The restaurant seemed under staffed and the service left a lot to be desired, although the wait staff was friendly. While my meal was good, my husband was thoroughly disappointed and indicated he would not likely give the restaurant another try.
The service was absent -- had to go to bar to get drinks, ice, etc.
Pork was raw -- had to take it to the kitchen to be cooked.
No apology -- no concern -- no care at all.
Won't go back.
Cool space though -- really great ambiance.
Went for restaurant week. The servers were friendly, the food came out quickly, and the hipster / Texan atmosphere was perfect.
We decided to celebrate my wife's bday at this establishment upon entering cute decoration. However, the table we got seated out was like having a spotlight on us the whole time. So no ambiance there lol. Anyhow server wasn't too familiar with the menus items.
If you do not mind printed out paper menus on basic non-heavy stock loose sheets of paper for the menu. I think it would help them if they would t least invest in a menu paper holder. If your eco-friendly you just might not be too happy to see plastic utensils served in your dishes.
Food was moderate I did have to ask the server if the duck ravioli were turkey instead because the taste was spot on for turkey and duck shouldn't taste like that after researching. It was ok however I can't say I'm screaming to go back. Bill for three of us spent over $100.00. On a good note, the burgers are a safe and simple option that has a good taste.
It was a great find when I was in SA for business. The pimento cheese hush puppies were the most amazing things I’ve eaten. Ask to sit in Lauren’s sections. She made the experience.
This was our first visit to Grayze's. Rather than choose our lunch from the regular menu, we participated in the Culinaria 3-Course Meal. The Pear and Kale Salad was very tasty. My husband chose the Prosciutto Salad which was also very good. For the entree, we both chose the BBQ Beef Rib. The Mango BBQ sauce was delicious but the extra large ribs had very little meat. Also, the ribs were overdone. The desserts were delicious! My husband had the Chocolate Brownie with Mint Chip Ice Cream. I chose the Chocolate Mousse with Chocolate Cake Topping. The atmosphere of Grayze's was Casual, Rustic and TEXAS through and through! In the future, we plan to return when visiting an exhibit at SAMA.
Our restaurant week lunch was very good! The arugula salad with goat cheese, prosciutto and pickled onion was super tasty. That was followed by a beef rib and loaded mashed potatoes and dessert was a brownie/cookie with mint chocolate chip ice cream. It was all very good and the service was great. Enjoyable and We will be back!
Great atmosphere, great service, awesome food, no complaints.
Pimento fritters were great! My husband had the Old Skool and loved it.
I got chicken and waffles and it was a little too sweet. Regular batter on the chicken would have been better to me than sweet batter and then sweet syrup on top.
Brunch was amazing!!!
Anthony was a great server and accommodated my special requests. Our whole party enjoyed the food.
Always a great place to eat or just grab a cocktail and visit..... Wonderful staff 😊
We absolutely love this neighborhood gem
Excellent service and food
The weight staff was excellent! Very knowledge and respectful as well as helpful! Definitely going to come back, the food was fresh and melt in your mouth good. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Facilities were clean and hostesses were cheerful
The front entrance is not truly wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp up to the entrance, but there is a rise of an inch or so to get into the restaurant. This may not be a problem for conventional (manual) wheelchairs; however, it is problematic for motorized chairs with low clearance. Other than this issue, our experience was fantastic.
The house made mozzarella was the worst I have ever eaten in all the years I have travelled in the world.
I think it's definitely worth trying out, and I would go again. I might also look for a different brunch option to try in the area next time around. Everything was good, but I wasn't wow-ed by the taste and options. Server was fine, but not particularly friendly and didn't check in too much with us.
Love the atmosphere and the staff were friendly. I went for brunch and there were a lot of options, everything was delicious. I'll be back.
The hostess was accommodating of our group but the service overall was not great. It took us forever to get our food. When we got our orders the food wasn’t that great. The inside of the restaurant doesn’t match the pictures or the presentation of the menu online. Overall I was disappointed that we chose to eat there while visiting San Antonio.
Disappointed by the food and the overall ambience. The restaurant was very cold and therefore uncomfortable for dinning. The food was disappointing. While the chicken was moist and tasty, the breading was very greasy, and the waffle was not a waffle but a flat cone (thankfully, our server gave us a heads up about the waffle versus cone when we ordered it). The poached eggs were inconsistent -- one was properly poached yet cold, the other was a hard boiled egg. Both dishes have a ton of potential, and the rest of the menu sounds fabulous. It may have been an off day for the kitchen, however... we are not going to give this one another try. The meals did not sit well with us for the rest of the day which threw our plans off (it was my husband's birthday -- bummer).
Excellent service and unique dishes.
Friends in from Wisconsin. It was a beautiful day, and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and being able to sit outside. We were so hungry we forgot to take pictures. Everything was delicious, but standouts were the bacon plate and butterscotch French toast. And the raspberry sorbet mimosas were a great addition. Lorin and Staten provided friendly, attentive service without being intrusive. And we never felt rushed, even though, before we realized, we had been there almost 2 hours. Lovely experience.
