Our first visit.
Won’t be returning unless it’s to try something other than the salads the whole party of 4 tried.
Not much flavor to any of them. The chicken salad had a consistency of oatmeal. Very weird.
Staff was friendly and all but that’s not why we came.
Excellent atmosphere, friendly/attentive staff and amazing food choices with excellent flavor!!! A definite return visit is in order
Great service and menu choices. I’ve been there before and enjoyed my meal. All our food was way too salty this time around. I are half my plate and my friend only had a few bites. Please tell the chef that excessive salt is not a good thing.
Nice place, a little loud, ok A LOT LOUD, but all in all a good experience.
Amazing until desert let the lemon ice box thaw out a little more
We enjoyed the visit to Grayze. The food was good and the service too. We would go back.
We walked out. The place has a genuine D-bag feel to it. Don’t bother with any place on Grayson that’s east of broadway. They’re all overrun with shallow hipsters who recently escaped Austin.
Exceptional food and service
Love love love coming to this place. Love the hours, love the service, and most of all the food keeps me coming back. We ordered the yellow candied beet and goat cheese salad. Sounds simple but it was literally plate lick-worthy. A it big but nice for 2 people to share as an app or to add a protein to it for an entrée. I really do appreciate the gluten free breads that they offer in house to be able to order things like eggs benedict or sandwiches. It is not a dry-styrofoamy bread like Udi's and it made the avocado
hollandaise great to dip into. The Scotch boozy breakfast drink "Archibald" didn't have much of a presentation nor taste but the Hendricks mule-jito and the Aperol cocktail made up for it with color and taste 10-fold. Keep up the taste-bud creativity!
Great brunch selections! Prepared really well and great flavor. Nice and cool atmosphere to enjoy. Definitely will go back for more drinks and food.
Innovative casual dining menu. Lots it different burgers and sandwiches and limited but varied dinner entrees and salads. They do their own smoking of meats. Would definitely return.
We went to Grayze for the Culinaria SA Tasty Tuesday program. The waiter did not know anything about it. After he left to check on it he came back told us the menu and it was not really something that interested us. We ordered an antipasto/charcuterie plate and two salads. They brought out the antipasto and then 5 minutes later the salads. One of my pet peeves.
The restaurant was loud so loud that we could not hear our waiter with asking him to repeat and I could not carry on a conversation with my wife.
The food was good but I think we just had a dud for a waiter. I would not return.
Food is great BUT too many flies and AC/climate is inconsistent...will hope for better and give it another chance, want to try the dinner menu, brunch only on Sunday’s got past me on Fathers Day
We really enjoyed our Father’s Day brunch at Grayze. We started with delicious cocktails. Then we had beet salad, which was unique and good, along with sweet potato fries and biscuits and sausage. Then we had entrees, including sausage hash, chicken and waffles, and a type of eggs Benedict. All were good. Thank you.
Awesome spot! We really enjoyed our Brunch. Just a warning, we had to move from the outside back patio to inside due to the bugs. We both got a ton of bug bites within the first few minutes of sitting down outside. Other than that, things were great. I'd definitely go back if I was in town again.
Our server (Stayton) was awesome. His enthusiasm and energy showed how much he loved the cuisine. The food was a LOT and yummy.
First time at Grayze. We were there for my mom's birthday, table of six. The waitress was helpful , telling us about menu items. The food was wonderful. Perfect service. Will definitely be back.
The eclectic Saturday brunch menu is intriguing. I wish they had a sampler plate because of the assortment of entrees. I had the Elvis Banana Bread. It was an explosion of flavor. My son and husband had the fries with green Chile sauce which had carnitas and the red sauce with smoked brisket. The coffee is strong - too be expected at a brunch that has a full bar at 9:00 AM. The coffee was very good with a distinctive bold flavor.
The negative of the restaurant is there were lots of fruit flies and mosquitos (atypical of what you see in a restaurant) in the restrooms. Glad I’d already eaten because it is a turn off.
Otherwise, cool place with very good food.
A little warm Sunday afternoon. Not sure if air was on. Food was good. Waiter was busy, would come again in the evening and try the outside area.
Food was amazing! Drinks were on point. Employees were attentive and friendly. They need to figure out a way to cool the building down. I know the kitchen is connected but there was no airflow and I was sweating as I ate.
Bar tender was rude to our entire party
French toast was mediocre
Half of the group got sick after
Hostess and server were very nice
Food was good. Service was slow. Very loud inside the restaurant.
The food was fab!!! The AC is not cooling the place. Unfortunately, we had a.very loud, obnoxious table of 6 close by that caused us to yell across the table to whole evening. Service was A plus! Owner came by, apologized for the load group, comped our apps. Very nice gesture!!!!
This place was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and creative. It was so hard to pick what to eat, everything on the menu was tempting. The drinks were refreshing and strong. The Hendricks mule-jito and the Paddington were delicious.
Disappointing. Lots of gnats and flies pestering us at our table inside. Over cooked burger. My wife’s salad looked awful and she decided not to eat much of it. Waste of an opportunity for a nice meal with my wife.
Great meal, great service from Archie! We’ll definitely be back.
The Bartender was rude, the service was so slow, it was too loud and it took forever to get our food. The food was good, but some of the descriptions on the menu were off from what we got.
I really wanted to give this restaurant overall 4 stars, and honestly, the food deserves it. My beet salad was perfectly composed and delicious, my double-decker lamb burger the same. And I would have like to linger for a coffee and one of the interesting homemade desserts. BUT.... I was sitting inside and the music was just deafening, even after I asked repeatedly for it to be turned down. Just as well I was dining alone because I would have had to shout across my little table to make myself heard to any dining companion. And the music selection wasn't bad, exactly, but if I wanted to listen to top volume technopop, I'd go to a disco, not a dinner restaurant. Were mthey trying to make the music heard outdoors? I checked the out door seating area., and it was pleasant enough if you like dining al fresco, but the music was all but inaudible. I cannot fathom why a restaurant that takes such care with its fresh, artisanal food would opt for an audio ambience that's downright tacky, but so it is. If loud music doesn't bother your appetite, go ahead and enjoy.
Will be back again
By far the most overrated restaurant in the area. I bought “frittes” which were expensive so I thought they were going to be the best fries ever.... I was wrong I’m not exaggerating when I say they were the worst fries I’ve ever had. Don’t waste your money.
The atmosphere is really cute. I didn’t favor the food too much though. I had a few different appetizers off of their happy hour menu and a cauliflower salad with pork belly.
Love this gem of a restaurant! the menu is perfect for my foodie family. something for everyone!
Really great food in a fun location east of the Pearl. Perfect for a casual time with friends. Dog friendly patio area!
Unfortunately the air was either not working or the airflow inside is extremely poor. Too warm to stay and enjoy dinner.
Food was good (but not great)...some things quite salty. Fries were delicious. Margarita was spot on. Mac and cheese with pork had way too much going on for a single dish. House-smoked pastrami excellent. Homemade ice cream delicious. Pickled vegetables tasty. Kewpie sauce not an asset to menu. In fact, yuck!
Loved the menu; inventive and yummy. "The Bird" was spectacular, as were the appetizers and the other offerings. Great beer list as well. Service was attentive yet unobtusive, and we really enjoyed celebrating there. Will definitely return!
Great food! Awesome ambience
What a disappointment. My family and I traveled to Texas and while looking for a place to eat before the Spurs game found Graze on OpenTable. We arrived looking for a nice place with a good lunch menu. upon being seated at 2:30 we were given Brunch menu's. Upon asking for a standard lunch menu we were told "No, Lunch is at 3" and were left to make our selections. Now all we wanted were a few burgers and maybe a chicken sandwich. Each of us was forced into ordering what we didn't want, and shockingly, being dissapointed and hating it. The punch line, our food wasn't delivedred to the table till well after 3. We were told "they had a big order that backed things up", so there hard and fast rule was foolish and unnecessary, and in the end turned this family off horribly. Though were in town for another week, we wont be back, and suggest to you all looking elsewhere.
It says you visited us on Saturday but we offer our cheeseburger official, a pork belly burger, and our queso classico. The "hard and fast rule" of not serving a menu we haven't prepped is for that reason. Some things just aren't ready. I can't imagine anyone telling you that you couldn't have a burger because we literally offer them anytime we are open. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your meal with us and for whatever miscommunication about when dinner started.
The food was great and our waiter was good, however the hosts are the reason I knocked down the rating. When we got there it was early Friday evening and no indoor tables were seated at. 20 minutes after we were seated, another pair was seated literately at the table right next to ours. There are 20 tables inside, they couldn't at least put a table between us? That other pair was extremely loud. We ended up moving outdoors, but it was quite the poor planning.
On a positive note, we went here because someone raved about the food. I would agree it was pretty good and we are interested in going back, especially as we learned the the backyard patio is dog friendly. Lastly, the cocktails were quite appealing and the wine list- while we didn't drink them, it looked good enough for us to return soon.
This a quaint place in a quiet neighborhood. The portions were hearty and service fun (quirky waiter). It has an indoor and outdoor part, and both have plenty of room. We sat inside, because weather was coming in, but when it did, people still sat outside, because the patio is covered. We had brunch here, because it made a Top 10 brunch list I read, but it looks like a place we'd come at night, too. Street parking is fine, and the location is near downtown. Thumbs up.
