Gray's on Main Ratings and Reviews
Grays on Main is ALWAYS a go to for taking folks out to dinner. Great price and the food is AMAZING! They pair sides with entrees perfectly! Entrees are always a little different but always perfect without being too much! My husband and I LOVE this place! You gotta go!! You’ll be hooked!
Not only was the food fantastic but the service was even better. Super knowledgeable staff, great recommendations on cocktails and the food recommendations were spot on. I can't wait to go back and have already referred my friend who is doing a girls weekend in Nashville next month.
They made a chef special for me because I am vegan and it was outstanding! Service left a little to be desired but I think he was new. My cocktail wasn’t that wonderful but I’m a former bartender and probably over critical. Overall this place is great. This was my first time sitting upstairs and I just loved the vibe!
Went out for a date night... Ground floor was pretty open, but they seated us next to the cold front window. The colds drafts from the front door constantly being opened made the evening anything but romantic. We asked to be seated elsewhere, perhaps at one of the open booths or upstairs, but our request was not entertained.
Gray's is no longer on my short "Go To" list for downtown Franklin. There are too many other great alternatives.
When we arrived, we were told that the only table available was a high table right by the door that we had to share with other people. We looked around and there were many tables and booths that were empty. When we asked why we couldn't sit at one of those tables, we were told that they were reserved on the phone, and those reservations had priority over our open table internet reservations. We told the hostess that we thought it was unfair to open table users, but that did no good. The food was fine, but every time someone opened the door, we got a gust of cold air. I don't think this is a restaurant we will go back to.
Didn't live up to the hype. Evening started bad when they tried to seat us at a high top shared table when we wanted a table to visit with another couple. it was very cold outside and every time the door opened (which was a lot) a cold breeze hit our table. You had to keep your coat on. There was not place to hang coats or hats. I was wearing a hat and had to wear it because there was no where to put it. I complained about the table since I had made reservations 6 days before and they said there was a big group that had reserved the upper floors, so the front entrance and high top was all they had. I asked why we weren't warned that we would not get a private table. They almost blamed me for making reservations on Opentable rather than calling them direct ,as if that would have gotten us a better table. Finally, after they realized we were about to leave, they seated us at a table near the hightop, but it was still very cold when the door opened.
The waiter was excellent and not only explained the menu but gave us the history of the building, and the nuances of their drinks and food selections. They make a big deal of the menu uniqueness, but there is limited selection and food, IMO, was average, especially for the prices. We had one drink each, shared an appetizer, a glass of wine, and no dessert and the tab was $160.
If you want a unique restaurant experience and atmosphere, and don't mind high prices for above average food, I guess Gray's is OK. Personally, I was not that impressed and will not go back. Too many other great places for equal or less money.
Met for a family get together. Made reservations and was seated upstairs where it was cold and drafty and where the staff had to run up and down to get all the food. Service was slow. My daughter's pimento BLT didn't have pimento on it. Our server was pleasant and tried hard but the set up was against him. The idea is good. The super high top table was very uncomfortable and the draft off the stage had us all freezing. We wouldn't go back.
Loved the table by the window but large group party 10+ behind us was having a rather loud spirited lunch gathering
Pimento cheese ball appetizer was cold and the BLT lacked the T AND was missing pimento cheese spread
Will be back for drinks and music but will skip the meal
I was greeted when I opened the door; the server was AWESOME. I had to wait on my friends and she kept checking on me. The food was spectacular. Our server recommended an appetizer and the crab fritters were hot and delicious. Our dinner was excellent and came very quickly. The server kept checking on us - not annoying at all. I will definitely be back!
Staying with friends in Franklin and upon their suggestion visited Gray's on Thursday having apps and drinks. Great Bloody Marys and Mimosas with fresh squeezed orange juice. So good we went back today for brunch. Absolutely awesome and the wait staff and service were outstanding.
