Good beer! Also the Granite City Food & Brewery is the place I've gone with my boyfriend since our first date.
Chicken tender sliders were good, but the chicken was a little dry. Fries were seasoned well and delicious! Our waitress was always checking in on us and very friendly! Beer selection was plentiful and good a variety. Definitely will come back.
My wife and I had been celebrating our 46th wedding Anniversary since May 18th. Granite City Food & Brewery was the climax dinner because June 7th was our actual wedding day! Maybe it was because that day was on a Monday. After all, the crowd was perfect, and Linsey, our waitress, was perfect. She was very attentive. She listens to our requests, and even though she was multitasking, we did not feel neglected. We enjoyed our diner very much and will be back again! We posted our day on social media and let everyone know we had a great time! Good job, GCF looking forward to our next time.
The people were so nice. Everything they did to make our visit great.
Made a reservation at 135pm for 6pm. Arrived at restaurant & doors closed at 2pm for staffing issues. Very inconvenient & unprofessional way to operate.
Restaurant was short staffed. The server could have used some help.
the soup and sandwich was very good, had the clam chowder and prime rib sandwich. the server was very helpful in making decision on our meal choices.
Let me start by saying this used to be one of my favorite brunches but I can’t say that anymore. Orange juice served was bad. The Bloody Mary was disgusting. Food was cold and the cheesy hash browns were clumpy and missing the cheese. I’m truly disappointed and tired of hearing the Covid excuse cause far too many restaurants are still going above and beyond. The hostess is running around serving, bussing and whatever else. I’m just truly disappointed at this point. $50 well wasted. Called to speak to Mgr then told by supervisor that’s not his job to call back and talk to GM or Nicole. Upon getting on phone he should have just said that. Mismanagement at its finest.
The only negative was my draft beer didn't have any head on top (foam) but it didn't taste bad. The food however was very good. The waitress was very attentive and friendly!
Food was ok, service was slow and bad. Wouldn't go back.
In the past I have had good experiences at Granite City, maybe it's the "times" we are in that it is difficult to get good help. Server was not attentive, never refilled drinks, not even once, very slow with everything. Food was cold and not that great, all I had was a chicken Caesar salad.
Meh! I usually like this Granite city but it took a long time (felt like 15 min or more)to get service and our table felt sticky. Our server was pleasant and friendly.
There were not that many guests in the restaurant (1 -2:30 on a Sunday)
My flatbread pizza was good but was lukewarm .
Convenient location, great menu-could be great with enough staff and more attention to detail.
Pre COVID this was a GREAT place for brunch. I would like to being by empathizing. I know they (as most restaurants in MI) are hurting for staff. I know service is going to be less than in some cases. But there was hardly any people here. Enough for a server to handle with no issue. But my experience was more than a staff shortage issue. The music was LOUD literally couldn't understand my server on a Sunday at noon. I was waiting for people who were late. I ordered a bloody Mary. There's like hardly anyone in the restaurant. It never came. I walked literally 10 steps to the bar and bartender said she never got a ticket for a bloody Mary. Server comes back saying he thought I asked for a Spicy Margarita. OK fine, but you never even brought me this Spicy Margarita! No Problem. During this time I had also asked for a menu. Again, LOUD music. Didn't understand him stating the menu only started at 2PM. The only option is the buffet which is NOTHING like the old one regarding variety. My other 2 friends came. I had to ask twice for him to turn the music down.... seriously this music was causing anxiety. Found out I couldn't order off the menu. I'm not paying $28 something for a buffet of breakfast when I don't even like it, and it's nothing like the old buffet. So how come you can't get any of this information on even their facebook site? Super waste of time for an hour drive for all three people to meet in the middle. We paid for our cocktails and left.
Our server was amazing. She apologized to us for how long things were taking, but she was doing such a wonderful job, we hadn't even noticed. While running on skeleton crews in so many restaurants, we were thankful for the opportunity to dine out and even more grateful for the amazing hospitality we received!
It was excellent my Wife and I truly enjoyed the food and service!!!
The waitress might have been having a bad day. She didn't seem as friendly as we are used to from another waitress there. She seemed to be in hurry but at that time we ate there was not a huge crowd. Other than that, we love Granite City!
The police were called on my family and I. It was my 18th birthday and I just wanted to have a good time.
Food was pretty tasty however the drinks were not made well, tried multiple times and each time it was too sweet or minimum liquor. Would definitely try again for the food
Good food, waitress was pleasant but the place needs a serious cleaning!!! Windows and floors looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months
There was no long wait. The breakfast buffet was really good.
Good came out cold and overcooked. Service was fantastic. Upon arrival for a 5:45 reservation we were skipped over after not even being greated for 17 mins.
The service here was terrible. The waiter was slow to react and didn't bother asking it we had everything we needed once we finally got our food. The food was overcooked and dry... Awful experience.
Food was awesome manager was rude for no reason very short on answers over talking very inconsiderate.I was split from a family birthday dinner which I reserved and paid for because a 1yr old who doesn’t even eat the food was counted as a person in a group of 6 even though he was asleep on his mom lap she refused my son the extra seat so I let him sit with the family and I had my dinner at the bar all by myself I’m starting to think it was the color of our skin because she was rude from the beginning. Upon arrival I gave her my reservation she stated rudely you’ll have to wait until a table is available you’re an hour late you was supposed to be here at 6 my reservation was for 7 I showed her the email I had she tried to brighten up like oh I’m sorry I have another Latoya 🤦🏽♀️If I had known she would be that rude and inconsiderate I would’ve went else but definitely won’t be back ...
Overall a good experience. Food was very good, served at a perfect temperature. Downside- service was slow the entire time. We were there at an off time so this was surprising since the restaurant was not crowded.
We dined here and Easter for their brunch. They had us split up our eight person family to six at a table and I had to sit my dad and brother at another table which was really dumb. The food was OK. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. Social distancing was great and everyone was wearing masks. I don’t think we’ll be back though.
Service was great! Reservation honored on time! Social distancing was apparent and real!! All wait staff was pleasant and helpful. Very inviting atmosphere.
My boyfriend and I always come here every time he comes to visit. They have really good beer. We did have a mix up with food one time but our server was just having a bad day and was super apologetic, so no complaints here. We will continue to come!
Our waiter took 20 minutes to come to our table. Then when he came we felt very rushed when he asked what we would like. He also never brought us napkins or refills of our waters. Honestly in my opinion he was just ready to go home. Probably will come again but just at a different time.
We’ve been going to Granite City since they opened, first day! It was, was, absolutely beautiful! The food, the staff and the value. Now, it looks and taste like the apocalypse. I was so disappointed. First of all I came in without a mask and my doctors note in hand, the manager said, “that’s no good but whatever, come in”. In such a disgusted tone. I would’ve gladly and understandably left had he said we can’t serve you even with a note, policy. As there are many establishments that don’t adhere to whatever the mandate for the week is. But, no, he insisted on being short and ugly. Then the “all you can eat fish”, what a joke! Pieces no bigger than my finger, and I’m a small person, with breading that gave it the illusion of a small but decent size piece of fish. I take the breading off because I want fish, not bread, what’s left on my plate couldn’t fill a forkful. I tell the waitress just keep them coming, each time we wait and wait and wait only to finally receive two tiny pieces of over battered, greasy nibbles of fish. She apologised as the management told her she is only to bring out two pieces at a time. Do NOT waste your time, money and tastebuds! The Granite City of the past is no more and much like what the government has done to us in Michigan, Granite City has followed suite by taking away everything that was beautiful about the place!
Burgers and sandwiches are good. Did not have an entre . However stay away from all you can eat fish Fridays. Fish was like 2 bites each. Coleslaw was like 2 fork falls. Fries were cold sent back and still cold. Had to get servers attention to order additional fish which came out hotter than first batch but still very small. She f ought to bring out fries which came out cold again. Unfortunately server wS bad and made what should have been a good time not so good.
it was our first time to Granite City and we absolutely enjoyed it... Erin was our server, she really was amazing... the food was delish and they were more than willing to make a steak salad to my liking and it was so good. We will return I am sure
Service was slow.
Food was great and our server Erin was amazing she definitely needs a raise
The website makes it seem like the mimosas and bloody mary’s are incised in the brunch price. It should be specified that that is an additional charge.
This place is a no brainer for brunch. The offerings are nowhere what they were pre-covid but the food that was offered was outstanding, and the mimosas were on point.
We had a great date night! Thanks for hosting us!
We were satisfied with the food, drinks, and the service.
Had a great time. Really good food, friendly & attentive staff. The food took a little longer to get out but the Cajun pasta was worth it.
Loved the Old fashion at the bar! Also great happy hour, great food!
Great service and food was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant.
