service was attentive but I bit too much.
The noise from the bat was too much for conversation and we were in the dining area.
Food good. Service fine. Loud. Great live music. 1/2 off bottles of wine on Wed.!
There were flys all around our table which was frustrating but service and food was excellent
Everyone was nice and the food came out fast and was delicious. My salmon was cooked just the way I asked.
Food took over and hour, family next to us meal took over and hour. It wasn't overly busy so I don't understand what was going on.
The appetizer took over 50 minutes to get to us.
Took my wife there for our anniversary, we did our best to keep each other company.
Honestly, not sure how I feel about it.
Firstly, I want to say I have been here many times and had a good experience overall, except this time. I had made a 1:00 reservation yesterday (Sunday), and despite the reservation and arriving on time, and were told we would be seated shortly. Well, we still had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. And that's only after I asked the hostess how much longer and said we had already been waiting 15 minutes for our 1:00 reservation that I had made hours earlier.
We got seated and the waiter took our drink orders, 4 sodas and one mojito. We waited at least 20 minutes for him to come back with our sodas, and I waited another 10-15 minutes to come back with my mojito. The poorly made and poor tasting mojito should have been a clue that our food was going to be bad but it didn't clue me in. Our spinach artichoke dip took another 20 minutes, was super chunky and gross and you only get like 4 pieces of naan with the dip now the rest is tortilla chips, but they charge the same!
Main course: after waiting ANOTHER half hour we had 3 burgers ordered among us ordered as 1 cooked medium rare, and 2 cooked at medium - none of them were cooked correctly and they were all cooked well done borderline burnt. We sat with empty drinks until we caught a waitress passing by and ordered refills and she brought back the wrong beverages. We let our waiter know when he finally came back to check on us 10 minutes later, and said when he offered to remake the burgers that we at that point didn't have time for them to be re-made. He let the manager know and she said she would take them off our bill.
We get our ticket (2 separate families and we weren't asked if we were all on the same ticket or separate) and one of the burgers was still on there. My sister let the waiter know, and asked him to split the bill. He came back with the bill split incorrectly but at that point it wasn't worth the hassle and we figured it out amongst ourselves
Very poor experience overall
Food was good, not enough staffing, drinks were late and poorly made and waited for an omelet around 10 minutes.
Tables were far TOO close together did not feel comfortable nor did the staff wear any protection. ie: masking, gloves, etc.
It did not have the atmosphere of a brunch on the high cost end.
We were there during brunch so it was very busy. Short waiting staff makes it difficult to personally attend to patrons. Our server was very friendly and apologetic for all the delays as two of us ordered from the menu. Our third person wanted breakfast but couldn’t stand in line due to health issues. Our server was very accommodating and brought her the items she wanted and billed accordingly. Regardless of the service we all tipped well to assure our server it wasn’t his fault. It’s how things are now days. Thank you.
KathyJ - Thanks for the review! Hope to see you again soon.
The food wasn’t as great as I remember. We didn’t get silverware or caramel rolls, we had to ask for both of those. The donuts were missing which to me was one of the best parts of the Lawless Brunch.
We stopped in for dinner. Had a reservation for 5:45. Literally sat at our table for 30 minutes before we finally flagged someone down asking for a server. She took our order which included an appetizer. Now another 35-40 minutes goes by with no appetizer. A manager stops by asking if we’re in “Alex (last name)’s section”. We say we don’t know and we had initially waited 30 minutes for anyone to come by. She blabs something about a server fainting and they can’t find him. Concerning yes but not our problem. She never apologizes for the delay. Our server comes by and the manager yells at her that we had been waiting for our appetizer for 30 minutes. Mind you it was literally chips and salsa. They bring out our appetizer along with our meals which were cold and had obviously been sitting under the lamp in the back. They never check back on how the food is and did nothing to make it up. We will not be back as each time we have gone it has gotten progressively worse.
Great service, Food was delicious. The place filled up by 6.
We shared the turkey overlake sandwich, it was great and I wish I wouldn’t have shared it! Next time I’m ordering my own!
It was happy hour so 2 beers for1.
I almost always get the 2 pull , heavy on the benny
margareth - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Good service, and food is always tasty with great deals is plus. My only complaint was cold waffle fry appetizer, and they had several TV's but wouldn't play Monday Night Football, only soccer and preseason basketball 🤔
mrgrub - We're sorry to hear that. We'll discuss these issues with our team, and hope you'll consider giving Granite City another chance. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
We enjoy going to Granite City from time to time. Much more now that they use OpenTable reservations. Was surprised that cleanliness seems to have slipped.
Asked for a High Top Table in the Bar Area to find out that Bar tables are first come. I was offered the the high top option when I made the reservation
MartyD - We're sorry to hear that. We'll discuss these issues with our team, and hope you'll consider giving Granite City another chance.
Wait staff was fast and efficient it was great considering how covid has created restaurant staff shortages. Food was good unfortunately it was ruined by a table with two people talking very loud. Also the ceramic tile was very slippery especially in the bathrooms. They really need to find a different cleaner that does not leave a film on the floor that makes it so slick. Otherwise we will give it another try food was good.
LouE - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll be sure to let the team know. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! We hope to see you again soon.
Good service great food overall great experience
We waited over an hour for our food after we ordered. The waitress was very busy and did the best she could.
4 of the 4 meals with fries arrived with cold fries. The salmon dinner was perfect, chicken dinner had cold rice. Bill came in total error, Manager figured it out and apologized. Second disastrous visit in 2 weeks. Not sure we'll go back to this location. Too many better choices in the area.
Our server was great! We each had the too sirloins and they were delicious. It was our anniversary dinner and they brought us a complimentary dessert. Love this location. Always have good food and service!
KathyH - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Nachos were soft and thus made the meal very disappointing .we are regular customers of granite city and will be back
jerryj - We're sorry to hear that. We'll discuss this issue with our team. We appreciate your feedback!
Good in house brewed beers, and good service.
mrgrub - Thanks for the review! Hope to see you again soon.
We were a party of 4. Overall 3 of our 4 liked their entree. I had the meatloaf and it was mediocre at best....lukewarm and sat on top of half a dry hoagie bun.
Wouldn't recommend it. Others had a chicken dish, an Asian chicken salad...both were well liked. The 4th person had the salmon and it was given a 6 1/2 out of 10. Have been to Granite City many times, will go back but not for the meatloaf.

Terrific server and absolutely loved the musician!
TerriB - That's what we like to hear! Thanks for sharing.
We requested another table due to the high chair need we requested not fitting where they initially were seating us. They were very accommodating and got us another table without any problems!
KirstinH - That's what we like to hear! Thanks for sharing.
Service was slow. Got the Sunday buffet and was never offered the caramel roll. Had to wait for clean plates for the buffet. Food was OK but have had better at the Granite City in St. Cloud
I admit I’m a little crabby after our latest brunch visit. They walked us through a wet floor to the room beside the bar when I specifically asked for a table in the dining room. Then the food from brunch was like warm at best. Luckily our server was great!
LLL23 - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll be sure to let the team know. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
Waitress made it clear she needed a drink because she was so busy, and it got worse from there. They didn’t look busy, not many people there, but it was homecoming so it probably had been busy. But we don’t need to hear how bad of a night a server was having. We waited a looong time to get waited on for drinks and then another long time to give our food order. Food was ok, I had better food on a previous visit.
We had a reservation and got there early, but had to wait 10 minutes after our designated time to get a table. Could have been due to lack of servers. Server was new and doing her best to serve her tables. We didn't receive a few condiments requested, but after requesting, we got them. Same with drink refills. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was not worth it. It looked impressive with the crust, but once you removed it, the dish was the size of the soup bowl. I had 3 pieces of chicken, 2 carrots and a few potato squares with loads of sauce. The flavor was bland and it was not worth the $12.50 charge. The other people in my party said their meals were fine.

Overall really nice meal..
Fries were cold thou
Hawaii - Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We'll be sure to let the team know. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to see you again soon.
Ordered special menu items that were over cooked, the spaetzle noodles came out when we were done with our meal. We ordered a specialty dessert (caramel apple bread pudding) and it came out cold. Normally we love everything about the food we eat here, this was just a one off where the food wasn’t as good as it normally is.
Great food, great servicr, great value, will go back again
harrye - Thanks for the review! Hope to see you again soon.
Food, cocktails and atmosphere were great for a moms night!!
TammyH - Glad to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Granite City WAS a regular lunch spot for us. Even when restaurants were take out only we continued to support
local businesses by ordering takeout.
I’m not sure when Granite City starting to slip in quality.
Our server/bar maid is always pleasant and quick.
BUT the food service is so slow… and the dish was pathetic. We both had the Monday special chicken breast.
It looked as if someone pounded it to death. And it was seriously the size of a White Castle slider.
The bun was big and toasted. But the tiny and thin piece of chicken was dry and tasteless.
I get it’s a discount/special. But we would rather pay a regular price for good tasting and well prepared food.
We're sorry to hear that. We'll discuss these issues with our team, and hope you'll consider giving Granite City another chance.
Went for brunch, and the food was not as good as it used to be. They got rid of the BYO donut, which was our favorite part. The cheesy hash browns were bland and the Mac and cheese barely had any cheese on it. Very disappointed and will stick to our usual place for brunch.
Exceptional German food & the bread pudding was outstanding! We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, the array of Germans food & quantity, the Octoberfest beer and overall experience! We have an hour drive to get there and will be making the trip at least once a month! The servers ran their tails off and did an amazing job! Kudos to all of the employees from the greeters to the chefs and all of the servers! Thank you so much! We will be planning special occasions here in the future!
Tamara - Thank you for the 5-stars! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we hope to see you again soon.
Our server was OUTSTANDING! (Michael)
Bread pudding was pretty good, but the music was really loud-that’s my only complaint though.
BTW, the Oktoberfest beer was surprisingly good-
That's what we like to hear! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Perhaps it was because it was a Friday night or they were short on staff (guessing) but once seated it appeared our party of 4 was forgotten. It took about 5 to 10 minutes to get drinks ordered. Then it was another 10 - 15 minutes before our order was taken. We ordered an appetizer along with our main courses. Then we waited 35 - 45 minutes with no food including appetizers. Our server made infrequent stops to check on us. We did cancel the appetizer on one of his stops & without argument he canceled the order but offered to give us the appetizer 'on the house' due to it being so late. We appreciated the gesture. It arrived 5 minutes later. Food finally arrived about an hour & 5 minutes after we sat down. My plate was cold (Mahi mahi tacos) but I didn't complain & just ate it. I didn't want any further delays. I know its hard in the current work environment to draw in good workers but, from a customer standpoint, it is having its effect. I will go back and simply chalk this off to a one-time, bad experience. Our other visits have gone much better.
Called for reservations and got right in. Service was excellent. Food was good! Very reasonable pricing!
