Great atmosphere. Good food at great price point. Chips and guacamole were so good!
Fabulous as always! Food is very good and staff is always pleasant.
Excellent food and service!
Understaffed. Service was slow. Table of 8 and they would keep bringing out 1 small basket of chips at a time with 1 salsa only when asked.
This location is always so quick and delicious! We love Gonza
Not following social distancing regulation - sat us at the same table with another group that was dinning. We had 2 seats between both ends - possibly 2-3 ft away. Management and staff starred our table down the whole night due to one member not having an ID. Imagine taking a bite from your food & looking up to see someone starring you down - that was awkward. Food and drinks during this visit were average. I’ve had better service in the past were my guest did not feel targeted.
Personally would not return to this location. Gonza is my usual to go spot when meeting with friends, but the way things were handled was very unprofessional and nothing like I’ve ever experienced.
Bigger tacos portion size. Too small of a portion size for my friend
Great experience! Had a phenomenal waitress!
The food is outstanding. The service was okay as we would have liked more salsa and chips.
The location is very neat N.C. State and has a good vibe without being a college hang out. Great staff very knowledgeable in various tequilas and how to mix up wonderfully variety of drinks !
Second time coming and the food and service is great! My only critic is the music was quite loud. I wasn’t sure if that was because no one else was inside or if I was seated in a area below a speaker. Regardless, I will come back!
The food is really good. But the service is horrible. Any request is ignored. You’ll have to ask at least 3 times. They got the order wrong but we kept the entree anyway but up-charged for shrimp when we ordered chicken. This place had service issues even before Covid. Haven’t been in almost 2 years hoping they would get better but it’s almost comical how bad the service is. If you have to eat here get take out but I’m sure they’ll mess that up too.
Food was alright for the price, beautiful decor, and server was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent food, mediocre service. We were 1 of 3 tables of diners, so not busy. They bring appetizers but we have no plates, so have to try to get waiters attention, who eventually brings plates. Wanted a second drink but very hard to get waiters attention again. Food was awesome, they need to work on service.
It was a wonderful night. Our server was fantastic. Our food was outstanding. Our drinks were good. We will definitely be back!
The restaurant did not have any visible enhanced cleaning procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic. For example, I was expecting the menus to be wiped down from time to time, tables to be sanitized between diners, and using a different cart to deliver food than cleaning up tables.
Awesome place! Food was on point. Wish there were bigger portions. It was good.
Wonderful food and staff
Great experience. Your tequila glasses are hard to drink out of without tilting your entire head back. Other than that great!
Great good and service!
Always delicious! Chicken tinga is a must try!
Fun outing at Gonza - love their food!
Thoroughly enjoyed the food as it is NOT Tex Mex. Instead very fresh and proportioned appropriately with small sides.
Valentine’s Day dinner for couples
Drinks were really good. We had the shrimp tacos and fajitas both were amazing. The server was very knowledgeable and helpful. He made recommendations and did not disappoint.
Great service and delicious food and drinks.
The kitchen closed at 10 but I had a reservation at 9:30PM. Could use more clarity because we got there last minute and felt so bad we ordered right before the kitchen shut down.
We were surprised to be told we had a 15 minute wait after we'd made a reservation online that morning - that has never happened before. If you're seated in the back room, be prepared for large group noise - very hard to hear each other. I always request the front rooms, but forgot this time....
Food has been better, I think they were just too busy. Service was great.
Have been to the one in Cary and now downtown Raleigh. It didn't disappoint either! Great, vibrant atmosphere. Absolutely call for a reservation. I arrived right at my time and was seated immediately, which looked like the only open table left. Some places still make you wait even with a reservation...not here! Fantastic food as always. Would love to have a "mix and match" option on the tacos (hey, go ahead and charge a bit extra for the convenience. With such good food, it's worth it!!)
Leah was terrific, knowledgeable and helpful.
It was great!!!! I think the server was Harrison. He was amazing!
Cool decor, but the bar area is too brightly lit.
I asked for a michelada (Mexican beer cocktail) and it was pretty terrible. The food is generally fair but there are far better Mexican restaurants in Raleigh (most of which are cheaper than this one).
Great flavor. Attentive service. Would come again!
It was a busy Friday night but we only had to wait a minute or two to be seated. The waitstaff was super knowledgeable and friendly. Our waitress helped my wife with her drink order making sure she selected a perfect cocktail.
The food was far better than either of us expected. My wife had their Mexican Flag dish of three different fillings and sauces for her tortillas. I had the Carne tacos and both dishes were amazing. The Mexican Flag entree was a huge portion which we ended up splitting into a leftover lunch the next day.
Highly recommended!
A little wait even with reservations; not bad. Very energetic environment. Staff were very good, and the waiter was excellent. Had multiple (5 at least) requests form at least 4 different staff members to clear our table before we were done. Turn over, maybe? It was Ok, as everyone was polite and being practice
Service was amazing. Food was great as usual.
I frequently visit Gonza with my family and have always had a great experience until Sunday night. Our server was rude and did not make eye contact. Evidently she knew that she was rude because she automatically included a gratuity in our bill. I will not visit the Hillsborough St location again.
Arrived at 7:30 and food arrived fast. Wss not body for a Saturday night, waited on refills server seem.ti got lost waiied on refills could not find sever.
Food is very tasty, though a tad expensive
I give it a 4 but it’s more like a 3.5 - unfortunately it doesn’t give the option to rate drinks. Great selection of tequila’s... but you have to know how to make the drinks in order to appreciate the flavors. There was enough sour mix to supply 3 margaritas in one drink... Thumbs down on the “mixologist”.
