We had the worst experience tonight at the Goldmoor. Upon arrival, we discovered the EV charging station was not working. The host insisted it worked (it did not) and said he would go check and plug in our vehicle while we dined (he did not). The dining room smelled musty and it was eerily quiet. We whispered throughout our meal because we felt like we were in a church with no music. The table we were at had a view of bushes, not the delightful scenery shown on the website. It took an hour just to get our soup and salad. The salad that was served to us was not a panzanella salad as stated on the menu, but rather spring greens with a few beans and asparagus. Our water was never refilled. Our entree finally came out an hour later, delivered by our server who smelled like cigarette smoke. He apologized for the wait and said he’d bring dessert, which he never did. This was a birthday dinner for my husband, as noted on Open Table, and ended up being a huge disappointment.

Great place, quite, great decor. Service was superb. We felt very well taken care of from the start. Friendly hostess and wonderful waitress. Terrific food, great value!

We celebrated our 25th anniversary with Goldmoor. We started with cocktails- bar was quaint. Then moved to table where we had the lobster and shrimp appetizer which had 3 sauces- very good. The salads were artfully prepared and our main courses were large- very good. We had the beef Wellington and the halibut. The bottled wine options were limited but the bottle we had was fantastic. No room for dessert but they sounded divine! Highly recommend for a special occasion.

Our vegetarian choices were worth coming for, with the pasta being of the highest level - simply outstanding. The rich chocolate dessert with fresh berries was absolutely perfect as well - just the right amount of decadence. The ambience was wonderful with the "French Pop" music loop providing a perfect, fun fit for our romantic evening and for the decor of the fabulous booth area. The service was good and welcoming, and the owner was charming while stopping to say hello at one point. We are anxious to return! This restaurant is a real gem!

Excellent food, quiet romantic atmosphere for our anniversary dinner. Staff was very attentive, owner stopped by to chat. The Beef Wellington was delicious. Beautiful view of the Mississippi river, we were able to watch the sunset over the river from our table.

The food was good, people were nice. The ambiance, however, was lacking. Sterile interior, blocked/no views of the beautiful river and sunset right outside, the part of the dining room we were in seemed like an overflow banquet hall.

We had a delicious meal overlooking the Mississippi River. The food was absolutely delicious, the owner was friendly and welcoming, and the view at sunset was lovely. We will be talking about this meal for years to come.

Another wonderful birthday spent at Goldmoor in the fabulous Mississippi room with an exquisite dinner in the restaurant. The beautiful spacious room was impeccable in decor, cleanliness, views and comfort with the screened in balcony and delicious cookies a huge plus. The dinner (octopus appetizer and tomahawk bone in ribeye) was outstanding in every way. The accompanying salad, vegetables and potatoes were as impressively prepared and presented as the ribeye itself. Staff and owners were attentive polite and professional - a big thanks to all of you especially Dale our waiter! Breakfast brought to the room timely, hot and delectable put an impressive finish on a great trip.

Exquisite dinning just outside of Galena! Amazing food and completely personalized service. We went to the bar for a pre-dinner beverage. Low and behold our server was also the bartender (made a fantastic Manhattan to boot). The servers are all bartenders so you get the full experience from the same person start to finish. The owner even stopped and talked to us. Food was top notch. Definitely will return here for dinner in the future. Bed and breakfast aspect look very inviting as well.

My wife and I tried the Goldmoor for the first time on Valentine's Day. They were serving from a special limited menu and it was beyond fantastic. Probably the best meal we've experienced outside of Chicago, NYC, London and Paris. Both the food and the service was amazing. We will definitely be returning in the future to sample their regular menu.

Went for a birthday dinner. Meal was excellent! My partner had the Beef Wellington and I had the Truffle Chicken. We were both extremely satisfied. Service was top notch. The hostess and the server were very kind and attentive. We will be back.

My boyfriend and I visited for our anniversary and we’re very pleasantly surprised. The staff are so kind and friendly and the owner especially made us feel welcome. The food is a bit pricey but I’d say it’s well worth it. The only thing they could improve on would be adding some specialty cocktails to the menu. My boyfriend had the truffle chicken and I had the Parmesan cavetelli and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. The beautiful presentation was only topped by the subtle details that made each dish perfect. We left very impressed and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

The environment and the food was absolutely perfection. If I was going to go again, I would go early, and have a drink and relax before dinner… Especially if the weather is nice to sit outside and overlook the forest below.
