Geronimo - New Haven
The bar, one of the largest and certainly the most unique in New Haven, offers over 400 types of tequila in addition to an extensive wine list and myriad top-shelf liquors. In winter, the expansive dining room, framed in slate and walnut complete with a leather wall, is warmed by an adobe fireplace (traditionally called a kiva). In the warmer months, the glass paneled wall, which offers a year-round view of Crown Street, opens up onto the largest patio bar and dining area in the region.

Food and service were great and we were seated right on time. We had an extra guest at the outset and they accommodated that change with no issues. It did become quite loud but I'm not sure what could be done about that as it happens in busy energetic places. Two thumbs up!
Music wasn’t too great and very very loud but service, food and entertainment level is always incredible. One of my favorite places to eat
The guacamole was amazing. It was all good. Very informed server as well, I am gluten and dairy free.
First time there and the food looked/tasted great. My cucumber margarita with sugar was also very good.
A reliable choice. Food and drinks are solid, good atmosphere and friendly service. Parking is always a challenge and there are items on the menu that are only available during certain time windows, which is frustrating. Overall, a positive experience.
Great strawberry and cucumber margaritas! Tasty, fresh, hot lunch! Great service with a smile!
This is our third visit to the restaurant and each one has been a fun experience. Great menu and a very nice selection of beers and mixed drinks. Will visit again when in New Haven.
Great ambiance. Service staff very friendly and helpful. Food was delicious with generous portions. A must when in New Haven or visiting Yale.
Took my daughters on a mommy and daughters date ❤️ enjoyed the food our waiter was very attentive
Great food, especially the vegetarian chili and nachos! And the spicy blood orange margarita is out of this world. My wife and always have loved this place.
This was my first time eating at Geronimo's. We had a table outside and we found the atmosphere very inviting. Food and service were both very good. The only issue we had was there were some annoying little bugs, perhaps it may make sense to add some screening to the outside dinning area. Keep up the great work!
Great food, great drinks, great service! Would totally come again
Definitely a good choice..server was a bit overwhelmed and slow but overall had a great experience
Took our daughter here to celebrate her promotion…food was delicious, seasoned perfectly and very fresh, drinks were awesome, service was great! Absolutely THE BEST guacamole we’ve ever had! We will be back for more, More, MORE!!!
Atmosphere was a very FUN vibe for a Saturday night. We sat inside, although they have plenty of outdoor and bar seating, too. Although a bit loud, we were able to carry on a conversation without screaming to each other. It was awesome to see New Haven so lively and thriving after a year and a half of COVID quarantine!!
I put in our reservation request comments that it was our anniversary. We were packed in a crowded room in between a ton of people. The food was meh and our order was wrong. Really awful experience.
Really upbeat & lively atmosphere. Staff were incredibly friendly. Food was amazing- churro dessert is to DIE FOR! Highly recommend this place for good food and good experience.
One steak dish wasn’t hot & wanted our waitress to reheat it. By the time she came back to our table it was cold & not worth it. Also asked another person to get our waitress & said she couldn’t find her. Disappointing.
Honestly the food is not that good. The guacamole was tasty, but the special burrito was greasy and the sauce was spicy without significant flavor. The waitress checked on us twice during the meal. One persons beer was brought much in advance of everyone else and he was finished it by the time the other drinks were brought out. We asked for the check at the same time as dessert, because we didn’t know how long it would take for her to come back. There are much better places around, such as Pacifico. I won’t be back.
Service was terrible. Didn’t get a round of drinks or water for atleast an hour. We didn’t even stay for a meal
Would love to have REAL IN-HOUSE MADE Churros after my meal. Plain, no filling, just dusted with cinnamon and sugar along with a cup of Mexican Coffee (not Italian espresso).
Service is always great, Geronimo continues to stay on our top 10 in New Haven list
A bit too loud but great food and service. Will return but they need to reduce the intensity of the best, particularly at lunch!!
Food was delicious! Looking forward to my left-overs!
Cocktails expertly mixed from huge variety of Tequilas. Fresh table side guacamole was outstanding. Our table all ordered different tacos and shared- all were flavorful and authentic. Just a great experience. Service was excellent.
New Mexican chicken was delicious. Nice presentation and serving size.
Geronimo’s continues to be one of our favorite New Haven restaurants. We can always count on great food, service and margaritas!
Our waiter Ulysses was excellent: very attentive, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable of the menu and bar items, and responsive. The food was delicious. The noise level, however, was excessively loud, especially for older patrons like ourselves for whom it was difficult to have a conversation without shouting. (My voice was hoarse the next day!)
Geronimo has a diverse menu with options for anyone— the food is incredible and the cocktails even more so! Great for a night out with friends and lovers alike
My husband and I had an impromptu date night. Geronimo’s is one of our favorites! The food is always delicious, and the service is always top notch. It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night, but I think everyone is eager to get out after being cooped up during Covid. Some may consider the service a little slower, but we didn’t mind the leisurely pace. We have a 7 year old so dinner out is usually eat and go😂 We would recommend Geronimo’s to anyone, and can’t wait for our next visit!
This was my first time at Geronimo and it deserves the hype it gets! The place was beautiful inside and out and the food was amazing. The empanadas and table side guacamole were delicious appetizers! The place was busy and I understand why, because the quality is high! Definitely check this place out! It didn’t disappoint.
the Ribeye steak was overcooked, but the flavor was good. The waiter took this special off the bill. Everything else, including drinks and Apps were delicious.
We always love the food at Geronimo's and look forward to our date nights there! Not to mention, the margaritas are always perfectly made!
Food was excellent! The service was subpar - we had to ask several times for the same thing and we were squished into a corner.
We arrived before our reservation and we were seated immediately which was great. Service was ok, not super attentive. Had to ask for drinks a few times. Food was quite good. Best guacamole I’ve ever had. Overall a good experience.
Very loud bass music. Server didn't come to the table for 35 minutes as we waited for the check.
Our waitress (Long colorful blue hair) was spectacular she was very kind and welcoming! I know she was very busy and she was still very attentive :)
Our server was amazing!!! We had such a great time. Just a little busy but that’s understandable
Yummy food but the music was too loud for us to talk easily. Will give it another try because we enjoyed our meals but will sit further away from the bar area.
It was good, we were seated promptly, it started out as my fiancé and I having dinner but suddenly a friend became available to celebrate his graduation so we had another 3 people tag along, they were able to satisfy our need for a table of 5 without a wait, which was absolutely amazing, the food was great, pitchers of margaritas definitely recommended, especially the strawberry cucumber margarita!
