Executive Chef Loseto’s innovative "Toronto Cuisine" is devoted to seasonal, natural, local, and sustainable food from the city’s markets. “This means that the food is inspired not only by the seasons, but also the variety of products available from many different cultures around the world,” says Loseto. This principle of fresh and eclectic variety is brought to the tables of our patrons at George.

Guests are encouraged to order from a five, seven, or ten course tasting menu in order to fully explore the bold flavours and textures of Chef Loseto’s cooking. Wine pairings carefully selected by the sommelier team are a wonderful addition to the tasting experience. The wine program is focused on quality, sustainability and terroir. Wines are sourced from small suppliers with a focus on unique appellations and varietals. At the table, one of our five sommeliers will ensure selections are perfectly paired with the unique cuisine.

I have been to George before. This was my husband’s first experience. I took him for his birthday. This is more high end than he is used to, so I was a bit nervous, especially given some of the more recent less stellar reviews. George did not disappoint. Everyone was at the top of their game. My husband truly enjoyed the experience.

Booked the resto in advance for Valentine's day. The restaurant is pretty neat, fairly big and the atmosphere is pretty good. I was recommended to try this restaurant a year ago by a friend. I had a mind set coming to the restaurant thinking that it will be somewhat pricey but you will atleast get a decent meal. Its also rational to charge more for meals on special holidays and events, but overall the meal was pretty unsatisfying considering a $175 per person price tag. I didn't really get to see the menu as the waiter somewhat rushed us to order drinks and to get started with the meal. Its neat that they served different courses for the lady and man, though thats all about it. The chocolate tasting dessert was far too sweet. I've had way better for the same price.

Visited George with my husband for dinner on Saturday, February 10. The restaurant is located in a vibrant area, interesting architecture and style. As we arrived and reached the Hosts desk, we were asked for our time and name, nobody even tried to make an eye contact with us let alone ask us how we are doing or if we were there for a special dinner. We were seated in a very corner by the window and my husband asked to change seats as the space was too small and very cold air was coming from the window. We were asked if we would like a tasting menu and paring with it. We opted for a tasting menu and a la cart drinks.
As the food started coming, we noticed there was very little enthusiasm in a wait stuff to announce to course. In a matter of fact, they barely could pronounce the dish name and ingredient. It not sound too welcoming and intriguing. THE ABSOLUTE WORST PART was when they brought us our meat course and as we were about to put our forks in it, the waitress ran to us,collected our plates saying that the chef needed to check something and brought our plates to another table. WE WERE FLOORED!!!! No apology from the management, nothing, they just simply messed up the tables and brought the wrong food and took it away. BUT TO BRING IT TO THE NEXT TABLE!!!! are you kidding me. The only reason I gave a star for the service is to give it to the guy who was clearing our dishes, he was the only professional in the entire establishment. His timing was perfect, his attitude, his attention.... he went above and beyond. I think he is the only person out of wait staff this place should keep. Too bad I did not get his name.
Very poor experience overall. We visited a few higher end restaurants in the city, some where more interesting than others, but this place should not market itself as a high end place. Poor poor experience

My Husband and our family (aunts and grandmas) have been talking about your restaurant forever - most have been. My husband went a couple yrs ago and love the food and experience and couldn't wait to take me one day. Finally, years after talking about it we travelled from Tbay to Ottawa for the weekend and decided to fly into Toronto specifically on the last day of our trip so I could experience "George". We paid for hotel and flights just for this dinner reservation. So we were very excited! Plus is was his 36th birthday and I even bought a new dress and everything. Food was excellent but service was horrible and I mean horrible. Very little conversations was had and our drinks went empty on 3 occasions (including our waters). I had to put them at the end of our table just so someone could see we wanted more. We watched as waiters actually looked at our table and I ended up having to ask for refills each time. I was actually embarrassed. At the very end when it was tipping time thats when the most conversation took place.He was really working hard for his tip. Also to strike a convo we asked for more information on a particular wine as we were doing the pairing with the tasting menu and they said they would go write down the info so we can purchase it, and she never did end up coming back. I was sad that his birthday dinner was such a bummer. For a 600$ meal the overall experience was something we talked about the whole way home. I was really disappointing a on the amount we spent to come to the restaurant, eat at the restaurant and the memories we are now left with from the experience. With that being said - the food was amazing and we will come back maybe, but not for the tasting menu. Our travels are based around fine dining and we have been to some amazing restaurants including Michelin Star Restaurants. We felt it was way to much money for the very little experience you get. If we come back it will be for maybe a quick lunch.

Fantastic from the moment I emailed about my allergies (peanuts, tree nuts & shellfish). Chef Loseto personally emailed within an hour or two and I felt extremely comfortable. The service was excellent...and I learned about their multi-stage review of meals prior to landing at the table. Exceptional. The cocktails, focaccia and meal were fabulous—tasty, interesting and surprising flavour combinations.

I and my wife wanted to go for 7 course option but were told it will take about 3 hours and 5 course will take about 2 hours. So we chose 5 course as we had a cut-off to pick up kids. But considering we were out of the restaurant after our 5 course meals in less than 1.5 hrs, we were left wondering if we could/ should have gone for the 7 course. Other than that service was fantastic.

My wife opted for 5 course Vegetarian tasting menu and it ended up being one of her best dining experiences. I tasted the vegetarian dishes as well and they were fantastic!

I opted for a no shell fish regular tasting and was disappointed with a couple of dishes that seemed to have no flavor or texture. But couple of items were amazing.

The $30/ glass for regular red wine (I wasn't even given the name) seemed a bit high. But food and ambience was great. We will definitely visit again and opt for wine pairing next time and plan 3 hrs for a 7-course meal.

Everything from the service to the seven course wine pairing was impeccable. Definitely one of the most expensive meals we’ve had, but also the most worth it. The fois gras course with duck confit was to die for.

Fantastic place. As it is not cheap, I was afraid that it might be too snobby/too posh for my liking, but it's truly friendly and very accommodating. The food is excellent, so are the wines! And the service is simply impeccable. Overall - the price is understandable and justified. It's a great place for a date, for friends' get-together, but also if one wants to impress someone visiting Toronto!

The overall experience was good but with the price of the menu, I was expecting better quality and faster service. The wait between the courses was long. The waiter was really nice and also offered free wine for my husband birthday. The food was great but too much appetizer and desert compare to the main food.

We loved the atmosphere immediately. Staff very courteous overall. Our main waiter was Enzo and we liked his manner. Attentive but not overwhelming. Good pacing in between each serving, We each had the tasters menu which was fun and interesting. It was a special night out and we were not disappointed. We so enjoyed the Sommelier. He really contributed to the quality of the evening and we would like him to be complimented on that. I loved his dress attire, quite splendid.

It was a real treat to share lunch here. The ambience and noise level were ideal for having a good visit with old friends, and the food was innovative, delicious and attractive. We all agreed that it is a definite repeat!
