The service here was amazing. It’s a small restaurant with amazing dishes. I wish we could have tried everything.
narrow storefront, off the beaten path on side street. cozy, if not downright tight. the server is a side step master. but, noise level subdued, conversation easy even with tables closeby. then the menu: everything looked interesting, worth a try. the steak and boar chop different and delicious. even with no room for dessert, all seemed appealing. in fact tried two, both simple: chocolate mousse and creme brulee. not a bit left. don't miss this place.
This is our second visit to the restaurant ant the food and service were as exceptional this time as they were the first time. Keep up the good work.
It is easy to walk past Gentleman Farmer. It is a tiny, narrow space with very understated signage. The food is good, not outstanding, and fully priced. We enjoyed our evening and if I am in the neighborhood again I wouldn't hesitate to go again.
Perfect. Every time. Food is in-cre-di-BLE!
Great restaurant with french flare and eclectic selections. The staff was nice, the ambiance was perfect and food was amazing from the bison tartare to the pork belly to the salad
Good food great service
Date night spot
Great food, drinks, and service. Very small and cramped so be prepared to brush shoulders with those next to you.
Cute and tiny place with great food and great service to match!
Was the perfect place for a special holiday dinner for office team. There were six of us total and everything came out perfectly timed and incredibly delicious. Lighting is very low for special ambiance.
Amazing. That’s all you need to know. Try it. Bison tartare!
Good appetizers, food took forever to come out and the entrees were very disappointing. Ravioli soaked in maple syrup was gross. Venison just ok.
El lugar muy pequeño e incomodo, la comida nada espectacular y cara, no lo recomendaría
It was our tenth anniversary and were craving tartare. Tuna and bison. Very good.
Tiny glowing space. Attentive service. Tasty food.
Loved our meal at this little gem of a spot in the LES. Great menu, service, and food.
Gentleman Farmer is first rate. It is a very small, cozy place with good ambiance and a friendly, attentive staff. It is the perfect setting for a date night. The various game dishes are a refreshing change from the normal restaurant fare. Everything was well prepared. My overall experience was fabulous. I will definitely be back again.
Excellent food. Gourmet in every way without the gourmet price tag. Small and cozy and even though there was only one server for the whole restaurant (22 seats) he did an awesome job!!! Service was excellent.
Amazing meal, fantastic
Thanksgiving... perfect experience.
Food here was absolutely amazing. The bison tartare was my absolute fave. Staff was super friendly and gave great suggestions. Even helped us choose a wine and gave us a few tastes so we could decide. We will definitely be heading back here soon!
I found Gentleman Farmer looking for a semi-last minute group reservation. The restaurant is tiny but it adds to the ambiance - our group of 6 took up nearly a third of the restaurant! The food was indulgent, very meat centric (not a lot of options for vegan or vegetarians), and classically european. The staff were so inviting, entertaining, and kept us laughing all night. I felt like I was dining at an old friend's house.
Gentleman Farmer was a great date night spot. The food was really good and the service was very helpful. The space is small but really made fora great night.
It was fabulous
Wonderful dinner. Our third time at this restaurant the size of a Subway car. Food and service were spot on.
A hidden gem with a unique venue that is perfect for special occasions. Make reservations! Seating is limited.
The restaurant was very accommodating and the food was excellent.
Hard to believe this fabulous restaurant resides in the location of a notorious ‘80’s after hours club. Wine list was great. Buffalo tartare was fabulous as was the pork dish I had. Fantastic experience. Can’t wait to try their Myrtle Ave Brooklyn location.
The game meat selection here was wonderful, and the menu is right up the alley of anyone who loves meat-oriented dishes. We ordered the rack of lamb, boar chop, wagyu beef tongue, and the bison tartare - all really delicious. The wagyu beef tongue had an interesting texture, and the truffle gnocchi and truffle reduction paired with it was amazing. Highly recommend.
Intimate , cosy, fairly priced, great wine, excellent food and perfect service
All from the worlds smallest kitchen.....
We ate at gentleman farmer last night for my wife’s birthday. I looked at several restaurants on lower east side and I’m soooo happy I went with my gut instinct and booked here.
The scallop starter and steak main were the standouts. It’s a very tiny restaurant and the tables are fairly close to each other but once you sat the ambience was lovely.
Little tip, if you are a couple ask for the table parallel to the wall as it’s on its own.
The staff were excellent as well ! Really efficient and friendly
Will go back for sure when in the east side next
Accommodating staff, great wine list, perfect ambiance, and outstanding food. One of the hidden gems in LES.
Ehhh I’m not running back here. Or walking.
We had the best experience at Gentleman Farmer. What a gem. Would highly recommend for a date night. Ambiance, food, service was outstanding. Get the chocolate mousse!
Delightful restaurant. Small, cozy, and unique in its focus on game and more unusual offerings. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the excellent service. Nice wine selection and fairly priced. We look forward to going back soon as well as trying their sister location in Brooklyn. This is a true hidden gem!
Ordered two items, onion soup and pork filet mignon. The pork was very moist and tasty. The onion soup and vegetables were extremely salty and any more and it would have been difficult to finish. Mentioned to server and I said I'd finish. He said he would check with kitchen but never came back with any explanation.
Delicious food, perfect service. We had a great night!
Great find. Split four apps and four dinners and every drop was phenomenal. Def coming back
I would come here often if I lived closer. But it is wonderful and will make it a point to be back when I can
I had been wanting to go here for a while as it looked so cute and seemed like it would offer an intimate dining scene. That was true but sadly my boar was way overcooked, as was my friend's pork. Tuna tartar was unremarkable, although the snails were a highlight. Overall sad that this didn't turn out to be a place to put into my regular rotation.
