In general we were disappointed. It's a lovely setting, but 2 of our items were dry and overcooked. It also took a long time to receive our food. Given the prices we expected much more.
This was my first time at this restaurant. I was hesitant to eat at the restaurant where I was staying for the weekend. Mainly because usually hotel restaurant is pricey and overrated. I was totally wrong. Great food, service, and environment. Cocktails were awesome and food was amazing. Our waitress was Dana and she was very nice and kind. Try their wagu burger. You won't regret. Also, burrata cheese appetizer.
My wife and I spent $151 (without tip) for a total of two Margarita “martinis”, one appetizer, one salad, two entrees, and one dessert. The scallops and halibut entrees were perfectly prepared and nicely plated. The chocolate mousse cake dessert, the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer, and the salad were good. The cocktail was fair. The ambiance was nice except that we were next to the parking lot, albeit a tree lined lot with singing birds. The table-side heaters were perfect for a cool night and the service couldn’t have been better. It was a pleasant and relaxing dinner with creative and tasty food .
The crab stuffed mushrooms as a starter were amazing. The $18 wagu burger was exceptional. Wine list is extensive with many local options. Great place to go on a date or to take adult friends .
Appetizers were amazing she always came around to ask if we needed anything and our drinks never went low. The conversation was also pleasant.
We had the most lovely dinner and loved our waitresses suggestions and service. We will be back.
I was mostly plaleased. My filet came out very undercooked. The server saw and agreed it was under cooked. He comped me a dessert, but I only ate part of the steak. I had the Brussels appetizer and had more Brussels and a not so great baked potato with the steak. I did pay full price for the entire, but recommend you do more to train your staff to handle that tight. Offer to remove the plate. Offer a substitution right away. Remove the item from the bill without being asked. I would have been very pleased with my experience. Mistakes happen. Followup matters.
We had a lovely dinner with welcoming, warm, and friendly service. The brussel sprouts appetizer was amazingly delicious, out of this world! The Butternut Squash Gnoccis were outstanding! We had a lovely evening. Thank you so much!
Dana is amazing! Friendly service with delicious food. We will be back!
First time in this area and really appreciated the friendly service and suggestions. We want to thank of their gentlemen that helped us and gave us suggestions to go over the bridge and have some wine. The scenery was beautiful and very quiet. No city noise.
Great location, great waiter but very poorly made food and overpriced for the poor quality of the food. food was overcooked and cold, we were 4 patrons and we all had the same issue. It was not busy, so what was the excuse? Not recommend the restaurant, Sycamore Spring otherwise is great!!
We were able to make reservations for an early Easter lunch, when no one else were taking reservations. Our table was ready right on time and we chose to sit on the back outdoor patio. It was a beautiful day, the service and food were great. Definitely going back.
Perfect breakfast date. We love every single thing we have ever eaten here. 5 stars always
Great restaurant on the hotel grounds. Lovely experience. Waygu burger was excellent!
Everything was excellent! The food, drinks, servers, ambiance, it was all superb. Would definitely be back and highly recommend.
It was my daughters birthday dinner, we were promptly served and check on through our dining experience.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
Jennifer waited on us.
We order scallops and gnocchi entrees and seafood salad Salad and scallops were good gnocchi was undercooked Not aldente, but undercook Not very tasteful
Excellent diver scallops and shrimp linguini. Attentive service and relaxing atmosphere.
The hostess Sarah, very professional and pleasant on phone and in person. Our waiter Moses, professional and Courteous.
Was extremely expensive. With tip, just shy of $200 for 2. We had a gift certificate, had a cocktail each and wine. I had rib $36 ,hubby had steak which was $43. Didn’t come with bread or salad. Had a super awful banana pie, since there were only 2 choices for dessert. Pie had to be a few days old. Not worth the $$ spent. Go to SLO for dinner.
Excellent tasting food. Slow to arrive out to table.
Gives impression nice garden setting, felt like hotel lobby seating. Waiter argued about whether he told us about mimosas where 5 people were sitting and no one heard him and even so, why an argument ? Then after we ordered he told us about the specials?
Again argued that he told us about them prior.
What a wonderful place! Chef Ruiz creates vibrant flavors in this off-the-beaten path corner: at par with the best the Central Coast has to offer!!!
Great experience, but it was a little cold, and food took a little long to come out, but overall great experience.
The ambiance and service was excellent. The food was a little mixed. The stuffed mushroom was very good. And the scallops and polenta were excellent, however the pork belly served with the scallops was tough and seemed out of place in the dish. Also, the shrimp in the seafood salad was overcooked. Overall we liked the place, had a good time and enjoyed dinner.
Food was absolutely amazingly delicious; from the appetizer - calamari Tempura, to the Warm beet salad with bacon, to our entrees; filet mignon and scallops. Oh, and of course the cocktails… both my husband and I had the Old fashion, which was by far one of the best I've had. We ended our dinner with Warm Banana Pudding and chocolate pudding pie.. they were very good, only thing I can say about the dessert is the my banana pudding was cold.. not warm.
Cant wait to go back.
It’s convenient for breakfast if you are staying at the resort. The fresh juices are awesome and out of the ordinary with jalapeños included 😆
Our food was great and the manager was awesome! We had a tiny issue with our food but he was very quick to fix it and super nice with an excellent attitude! We will definitely be back because of the service the server and manager gave us! The host were also awesome!
Great food and service, we look forward to eating / visiting again.
Excellent! Try the deep fried buratta, you will not be disappointed.
Loved the Vegan special and the service was great as usual! We’ll be back.
Restaurant was freezing cold. No indoor heating. Ruined the ambience which was otherwise five star. Meal too pricey for experience...
Server was amazing!
For an absolutely fantastic dining experience, you must eat at the Gardens of Avila.
The menu was out of this world, the service first class. (ask for Dana) server extraordinar.
And I must say I highly recommend the warm root salad. To die for.
I cannot say enough about it. I have never had a bad meal there. You're welcome
Enjoy
Experience was fine, kalamari was overcooked & were out of a lot of menu items limiting what the table could order.
Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food was great, the salsa verde and bacon jam are really tasty.
Service was great. Food was pretty good. The beet salad was excellent but the diver scallops and braised pork belly were just okay. I would go back just for the delicious beet salad!
Dana was a really personable server. She was the bartender and server and was able to multi task. She made the evening even better.
Very pleasant. Not crowded. Waiter was excellent. Thanks
The food selection was poor. Quality was fair tho the food was NOT hot. Bar selection was poor. One of the outdoor heaters wasn't working, and a guy from somewhere in the facility kept clicking the starter which was very annoying while we were trying to eat. Portions were small yet pricey. We were asked if we were celebrating something special. Tho our response was YES, it was never mentioned by the server again! VERY DISAPPOINTING! Won't return next trip to the area.
Service was fantastic, Jessica was great very attentive. Very fast as well. The place was beautiful and very comfortable.
