Gallagher's Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
The service was excellent. My steak (I had the Filet Mignon) was cooked to perfection. The mushrooms and fries were delicious. We enjoyed the low level volume of the music. So many times these days we are unable to enjoy our meal or a good conversation because the volume of the music is so loud; not so in this case.
Made reservation at Gallagher's Las Vegas based upon a recommendation by an acquaintance. I expected to pay higher than average due to the fact that this is supposedly a high-end steakhouse with a great reputation (mostly for it's NYC location). Stupidly ordered the house specialty (dry aged NY Strip) PLUS the lobster tail......Well, come to find out that the market price for the "surf and turf" was $140.....Steak was good, not great. Lobster was ok but a bit on the tough side. Creamed Yukon Gold garlic potatoes were "over-creamed". Asparagus was average. The "Gallagher's Wedge" salad was good, but did not come with bacon as most wedges do..if it had, would have rated this wedge as great. Wife and daughter ordered filets and they were generous in size and flavorful.
Our waiter was overloaded with tables...One of the hostesses had to step in and help re-fill drink orders...always a sign that the restaurant didn't have it's act together for what should have been anticipated as a busy Friday night Vegas crowd.
3 Guests, 5 cocktails (no wine), 3 entrees, 3 salads and 2 shared sides = $400 plus meal. Better off getting a gourmet burger somewhere else and taking the extra 300 dollars and spending it at the Black Jack tables.....
We have visited this restaurant 2 previous occasions so we knew to expect good service and food. This time however we were sat in an area of the restaurant where 2 tables of 14 plus guests were seated and the noise level was absolutely deafening. The waitress apologised for the noise but we asked to move. The waiters quickly found us another table. That was good. What we didn't like was that our vacated table was soon filled with another couple who obviously didn't like the noise but were not bold to speak up. Naughty Gallaghers...you should have made this area private for the noisy diners.
Seating close to the kitchen is not very good. All the kitchen noise was a bit annoying. Overall atmosphere noise was not an issue. Our waiter was really good. The wait staff and bartenders were good and extremely friendly. The hostes were not overly friendly. Showed up early for a reservation and checked in, was escorted to the bar for a pre meal drink which was completely fine. Once the time to get seated came, had to recheck in with the hostes, where we were told we then had to wait to be seated due to people before us... who walked in after us. Overall the food was amazing, and the amposhere was very nice. Would highly recommend to anyone! I will be going back that is for sure!
The food was exquisite! My wife and I have eaten at over 75 steakhouses (Texas, California, and Nevada) and Gallagher’s definitely ranks in our top ten for sure. The noise level was not bad especially considering the proximity of neighboring tables. In addition our waiter was very charismatic, professional, and engaging. Overall the experience was great and the food was excellent.
I have dined at Gallagers several times while in Las Vegas for business. It is always outstanding. The General Manager has the whole place running like a well oiled machine. We were seated by the kitchen. I wasn’t thrilled about that until I observed the way the staff and management work so well together! The food and service has always been splendid. I highly recommend it.
The ambiance was great. Food exceptional, except for the bread (dry, hard, cold tasteless) Our waiter seemed preoccupied with the couple next to us, because the man was a "high roller". The manager and wait staff fawned over them, almost sickenly so.I was literally waiting for someone to kiss his heiny. The table to our other side was sat 10 mins after we were. We finished at the same time but we had to ask 3 times for our bill . Which was only $200. Chump change for a good steak. We were pleasant, not needy. SO, what gives? We were dressed appropriately.
I understand paying special attention to people that spend RIDICULOUS amounts of money. BUT, by treating your "regular everyday joe" patrons as second class, its difficult to reccommend it to my other " regular everyday joe" friends.
My husband ordered a cowboy ribeye, the waiter brought a filet. We'd been there for 45 minutes and by the time they brought a cremated ribeye out, we wete finished with our meal. My husband returned the steak, which he's only done twice in his life. Our seafood was good, but a steakhouse that can't properly cook a steak has a problem.
The service was amazing. Was celebrating my birthday and the staff was attentive and courteous . I had the ribeye steak and my niece had the salmon. The steak was perfectly cooked and season . The salmon was outstanding too. We ordered the potato purée and the creamed spinach. The creamed spinach was a bit bitter for my taste while the purée was just a basic purée nothing out of the ordinary.
Had always wanted to dine at Gallagher's every time I went to the New York New York. Wanted to have a great steak so took my wife there. Ordered the ribeye and calamari. Everything was delicious and the service made you feel like a million bucks. Definitely eating there again.
The service at this restaurant was absolutely horrendous. We saw our waiter (Sam) two times, once to take a drink order and once to take our meal order. We never again saw the waiter. We had to ask a manager that was walking by for our check after sittting for about 30 minutes after we were done our meals and drinks (drinks were needing refills before we received our dinner). On a positive note the steaks were very good.
The food was outstanding and very fairly priced for the strip! I’m a local so that is a bold statement to make. Steak was superb! Horseradish for shrimp cocktail was excellent! Bacon salad was just ok. Lady sold us pictures was WAY overpriced- if not for these last 2 items I would have put 5 stars across the board.
This was a group of four for early dinner at Gallaghers inside New York, New York hotel/casino in Las Vegas. They were very busy but we were seated immediately at reservation time and service throughout was great! The food was fantastic (steaks and lamb were selected). Two in our party had not been there before and commented that it was one of their best meals in a long time. Look forward to return on next trip to Vegas.
Such a let down. It was our anniversary and the food was horrible. Lobster was overcooked (chewy) and had a bad flavor, and the steaks were horribly under seasoned. My meal was $130 and was inedible. Spent $290 on dinner and still had to find something else to eat.
Should have just kept our original reservations elsewhere.
